Zary's POV

I huff as I lie on the couch, my head resting in my mother's lap as she plays with my red curls. Frank sits by my feet as he flips through a book while Rebekah is at a desk, looking online for places Elijah might be in. Agnes came bye, telling us that I should get a checkup. But I was overly nervous at the thought of a checkup by myself. Zary was somewhere, hopefully not near Klaus as he's too dangerous for her.

"I'll come with you," Mom says, smiling down at me as I nod my head softly.

"You are overdue for a checkup. You're mother can come with us," Agnes said, giving me a small smile as I nod my head. Before my eyebrows furrowed.

"But what about Marcel and his minions. He had his guys come after me last time," I said, wondering how I was going to get a doctor now. I did really want to keep up on appointments, but it's hard when you're stuck in a mansion because of your babies.

Agnes gives a small nod before saying, "I know a doctor out in the Bayou, off the beaten path. Now, I took the liberty of making an appointment for you. Tonight, after-hours, just us three. Vampires will never get word of it."

I ponder it for a moment as I nod my head and say, "Okay, fine. Bayou-baby-doctor it is." I smile at the old witch as my mother and I follow the witch out.

"Any weird cravings yet?" Mom asks, sitting in my bedroom with me on my queen size bed. I was currently sitting crisscross and eating pickles with cookie dough ice cream. I just glare at my mom as she laughs and sits closer to me. "I'm sorry. I was just wondering if you're like that Bella girl and needs blood." I almost spit out the pickle in my mouth, covering it up as I swallow to contain my laughter. Mom just smacks me with the pillow and says, "Sorry for asking, Miss know-it-all!"

"I'm sorry! I'm sorry!" I yelp, laughing as she keeps hitting me with the pillow. "I'm pregnant! Stop! Stop!" I beg, laughing as she doesn't and keeps hitting me in the face before I grab it from her and stick my tongue out at her. She just giggles at me before going to reach for my pickles. I snatch it away and shove the last one in my mouth, making it stick out almost all the way.

"Alright, alright, prego! I'll stop," She says, laughing as I took a bite out of the pickle and dip it in the ice cream. "Have you thought of names for them?"

I smiled at her and sighed before saying, "I have a list, but I wanted to go over it with Eli."

"You call him, Eli?" She asks, raising an eyebrow at me as I roll my eyes and blush.

"Is that bad? He said it was okay over the phone. He told me he liked it since no one else called him that and- what?" I started, but stopped as my mother tilts her head with a sly smirk.

"You really do like him and it's obvious he feels the same-"

"Mooom!" I said, avoiding her eyes as I dipped the pickle in the ice cream again.

"What? Can't a mother ship her daughter with someone? Especially if he's the father of my grandchildren," She says, smiling as I looked up at her with a small smile. "Before you say a word, I do know what ship means. I'm not that old."

"I didn't say anything," I said, smiling as she rolled her eyes at me. "I was thinking..." I trailed off, watching as she watched me with her kind eyes. "For the boy. To be called Konnor, with a K, because it means someone who loves wolves. It reminds me of Eli, kinda, but his brother too. Since Klaus was born a werewolf. I'm still thinking about the girl and her names. But I was thinking Konnor's middle names would be Henrik Thomas."

"After your father and...?" She trailed off, wondering where I got Henrik from. I just remembered Elijah telling me once about his family and that his little brother died.

"Elijah's little brother, who died when they were human."

It's dark, when Agnes drives my mom and I up to the obstetrician in the Bayou in her car. I felt weirdly uneasy, like something bad was going to happen. I shook it off though as my mom looks at me with a small smile and asks, "You okay?"

I nod my head, staring at the small house and say, "This is the doctor's office?"

Agnes smiles and nods her head as she looks at me through the rearview mirror. "Dr. Paige is only this far out because Marcel's men kept terrorizing her patients. Go! She won't bite!"

I get out of the car with mom and walks towards the clinic, hoping for the best for my babies.

I was lying on a lounge chair as my mom held my hand and the doctor was giving me an ultrasound to hear the heartbeats. I smile with my mom as we heard one heartbeat and then the other one. I had tears in my eyes as the doctor smiles down at me. "Your baby's heart rate is perfect."

Mom smiles and says, "I knew it. She's a tough one, like her mom." I let out a short laugh as I wipe with a towel, the gel off me. I sit up, pulling my pony tail tighter as my mom pats my back. The doctor chuckles before smiling at me as she cleans her hands.

"We're pretty much done here, right?" Mom asks as I rub my pregnant belly, feeling happy and almost tearful at the thought of my children inside me. I get a text from Rebekah then, her asking me where my mom and I are. I just text her that we're at the Bayou doctor's place with Agnes.

The doctor smiles at us before sighing and saying, "Your blood pressure is a bit high, I've got something for it." I nod my head as I watch her walk away and see Agnes staring at us. I tried to read her mind, as she seems off, but all I got back was Latin. The same Latin Sabine said a day ago when checking on my babies. My eyebrows furrow as a wolf howls loudly and I get up as my mom and I look out the window to see a few cars pulling up.

I swallow my nerves as the doctor comes back with pills and I shake my head, the bad feeling is getting worse. "Ahh, you know, I'm-I'm actually not that good with pills," I say, my mom standing by me as the doctor hands my mom pills.

The doctor seems nervous as she says, "Heh, neither am I, truth be told." Then, she starts preparing something we can't see and my mom looks over, grabbing my hand as a group of men walk into the clinic, whispering to Agnes. I give a startle gasp as the doctor lunges at me with a needle, but my mom grabs her arms, twists and head butts her before grabbing the syringe and stabbing it in her neck. Quickly, I run and lock the door as the men notice.

"Mom." I watch as she runs and grabs scissors and then opens the door, motioning me to leave through the window. I nod and quickly climb out as my mom quickly follows. We make a break for it as we hear men shouting from the doctor's office. My mom holds my hand as we bolt through the woods, making us pant before my mom puts us behind a tree. My eyes widen as I hear the men, but my mom shushes me before leaving me to attack the men with scissors. I look around the tree to see my mother stab the man's neck, making him fall dead to the fall. She turns around as the man goes to shoot her, but something erupts within me.

I stick my hand out towards him on impulse and a blast of light hits the man, making him thrown into a tree nearby. My mom quickly stabs his head with the scissors before panting. I look at my hand in amazement, but I turn around as I sense someone closing in near me. My eyes widen as my hand glows, ready to toss him away when Rebekah appears and rips out his heart.

"Have to say, I'm impressed," The original says, nodding her head as she tosses the heart away and stares at my dimming hand. "What the-"

"How did you find us?" I asked as my mom looks around us, panting for air as she bends down to catch her breath.

"Your text got me halfway, vamping here did the rest. Who are they?" Rebekah asks and I shrug my shoulders.

"Witches. Warlocks. Whatever," Mom says, panting as she looks around before noticing flashlights coming towards us.

"There're more of them. Run!" She yells, making me sprint away with my mom, holding her hand tightly.

I turn around to check on Rebekah when I saw her fall to the ground, dead, and I yell out, "Rebekah!"

"Sweetheart!" Mom yells at me, tugging me to keep moving. I go to turn around when I yelp, an arrow hitting my shoulder and I hear my mom scream before everything goes black.

I was stumbling around, lost and beyond tired, trying to listen for voices as my mom limped as she held onto my shoulder. I didn't know what happened as I helped my mom. I just remember pain before I blacked out. I felt her slipping though and I say, "Mom! Mom! Mom!" I lie her on the ground, hearing a whooshing sound. I look up to see Klaus and Rebekah. "Please save her," I begged, eyes tearful as my mom was coughing blood. Klaus nodded, kneeling down and biting his wrist before feeding her blood. I brushed her hair as she starts to open her eyes and her wounds were now healed.

"What happened?" Klaus demanded as he made me stand and examined me for any thing as I shake my head.

"I can't remember..." I said, being truthful.

"You've completely healed. There's not a scratch on you."

Rebekah runs over to me and pulls me away to sit on some steps as she thinks for a moment, before smiling at me. "It's the baby. The vampire blood- Elijah's vampire blood- in your system. It can heal any wound... Your own child healed you." I smiled, silent tears falling from my eyes as I felt my bump. Glad that my children are safe now.

"How did you escape? You were outnumbered, unarmed? Those men were ripped to shreds!" Rebekah asked after a moment and I shrugged.

"I think it was the wolf. I think it's trying to protect me," I say, eyebrows furrowing as I tilt my head. "I don't know why though. My children aren't part wolves..."

"No..." Mom sits up, panting as she shook her head. "The wolf didn't save us. You did, sweetheart," Mom says and my eyebrows furrowed as I looked down at my hands to see no blood, just dirt.

How?
