Journal translation: first page

To whomever is lucky enough to read this, I suggest you pay close attention.

I shall tell you a story: my story.

The story of the one who traveled these seas and lived unimaginable adventures.

Of the one who discovered dazzling secrets and voyaged a world like no other.

I arrived on this world by pure coincidence, on a ship destined for shipwreck and disaster. I found myself alone on a fantastical land of bizarre creatures.

Land of magic, and land born on the corpse of a titan.

This was 20 years ago, and today, I resign myself to my final destination. I write this on my deathbed, waiting for the sweet and cruel hand of the reaper to take me before the eyes of god. But not before leaving my legacy for those that shall find it.

That being this diary.

In here you shall find the details of the lands I visited and the people I met. But I'm afraid I shall not tell you everything.

The secrets I uncovered, the magic I used, the history I learned. You have found none of that in reading this journal.

If you want to know it so badly, then I encourage you to embark on your own voyage!

Annexed you shall find the blueprints of the ship that took me beyond the horizons of the boiling sea. I have called it: "Rocinante". (But perhaps you will build a vessel better suited for the task)

So now allow me to begin my tale like so:

In a village of La Mancha, the name of which I have no desire to call to mind, there lived not long ago one of those gentlemen that keep a lance in the lance-rack, an old buckler, a lean hack, and a greyhound for coursing. Said gentleman told me the tale of his grand adventure, the adventure that never happened.

The poor man wanted to lose himself in tales of fantasy the he well knew would never live, and in solidarity, I have listened to the old man and noted down his words in my pages and in my soul.

I have written down his tale and shared it with the people, no doubt, my masterpiece.

And now here I am, the one that has lived the fantasy that old man never could and shall never do.

You ask for my name? The name I was born with is useless to me.

In this new world, in this new life

I HAVE BEEN KNOWN AS QUIXOTE!
