Chapter 1: An Old Reminder.

Helen Parr was in the kitchen, cooking dinner, when she felt someone tap her shoulder. She looked and saw Violet.

"What is it, Violet?" Helen asked.

"I don't think it's anything to worry about, but Dash has been sitting in his room for the past hour or two looking at something." Violet said.

Helen looked surprised. Dash had never done that before. She turned down the stove before she went to Dash's room. Dash was sitting on his bed. He was holding the medal, which he was staring at.

"Dash?" Helen asked.

Dash snapped out of his train of thought.

"Hey, Mom." Dash said.

"Violet told me you were in here for a while looking at something. What is it?" Helen asked.

"This here. It's what I found during that battle with the robber. It just reminded me of someone from three years ago." Dash said before he showed it to her.

"I remember this. Hey, Violet!" Helen called. Violet came in.

"Do you remember this?" Helen asked.

"Yeah!" Violet said.

At dinner, Dash was still looking at the medal as he talked about it.

"So, an old friend of yours has something to do with it?" Evelyn asked.

Dash nodded, "She was really nice to me." he said.

"Where does that medal come from? Did this friend you talk about help you win it?" asked Karen.

"No. I'll explain. This was long before we went to Nomanisan Island. When I was seven years old…" Dash started.

(Flashback)

Seven-year-old Dash was sitting on the front lawn, playing one of his handheld games, when someone walked up to him.

"Hey, kid." said a girl who appeared to be 14.

"Hello. Can I help you?" Dash asked.

"I was wondering if you might could tell me somewhere I could stay while I'm here in Metroville. I'm here for the robotics competition." she said before she blew a pink gum bubble.

"Are your parents or classmates with you?" Dash knew some about robotics, having seen them on TV.

"No. Mom and Dad are back home. We all split up. I prefer to work alone." the girl said.

"Well, I'll see if Mom knows. Hey, Mom!" Dash called. Helen came outside.

"What is it, Dash?" Helen asked.

"Excuse me, ma'am, I was wondering if there was a place to stay around here. I'm solo in the robotics competition and I was wondering if there was a hotel I could stay at." the girl said.

"The closest one is pretty far into the city. Why don't you stay with us? You can use our garage to work." Helen said.

"I couldn't. I don't want to impose." the girl said.

"Come on. We let a family friend stay with us when his house needed repairs. Besides, we have a guest room and Mom can cook whatever you want." Dash said.

"It's true." Helen said.

The girl thought it over before she said, "Okay. Thank you."

Two weeks passed, during which the Parrs and the girl got to know each other better. Dash and the girl also found themselves growing closer, almost like brother and sister, as she helped him when he had trouble with his homework, or he helped her when she wanted to find something on TV, which they would both enjoy. On the day of the robotics project, the girl presented a machine that could hand someone a can or a cup, as well as open it or pour something into it. This earned her a first place medal, as well as a great big trophy. The Parr family was happy to help her celebrate.

Unfortunately, the day came when she had to leave. The Parrs took her to the airport.

"Thank you, Parrs, for your hospitality. I'll make sure my parents and friends know what great people you have been to me." she said.

"No problem." said Helen.

The girl then looked and noticed Dash had his head down.

"What's wrong, kid?" she asked. Dash lifted his head and she saw he was crying.

"I'll miss you." he said.

"I'll miss you, too." she said.

Then, Dash suddenly gave her a hug, which surprised her, causing her to drop the medal and break it in half, alarming Dash.

"Oh, NO! I broke it!" Dash said, upset.

"Hey, it's all right. It was an accident." the girl said, not mad about it. Dash hung his head and cried.

Suddenly, she got an idea to cheer him up. She picked up one of the medal halves and handed it to him.

"Keep one of the halves. That way, we can remember each other." the girl said.

"Are you sure?" Dash asked.

The girl nodded. Dash smiled before he took it.

The girl smiled before she made her way to her plane.

(Flashback End)

"Now, I just keep it as a good luck charm." Dash said.

"Man, that was some story." Evelyn said.

"Do you think you'll ever see her again?" Karen asked.

"I hope so." Dash said.

"Do you remember her name?" Evelyn asked.

Dash nodded.

"It was…" Dash said.

ELSEWHERE…

A 17-year old girl was sitting at an airport waiting for a flight bound to Metroville. She was watching Speed Demon on her tablet. Suddenly, someone came up to her.

"Hey, GoGo, are you ready?" asked a kid with black hair carrying what looked like a cube.

"Yeah, Hiro, all packed and ready to have a vacation." GoGo said.

"I hope we meet the Incredibles. That would be awesome, wouldn't it, Honey Lemon?" said a kid with blonde hair.

"That would be pretty interesting, Fred. What about you, Wasabi?" said a blonde-haired girl.

"It would be great. What do you think, GoGo?" asked a dark-skinned boy.

GoGo was too busy watching the tablet.

"Speed Demon is so awesome! I would love the chance to race against him!" GoGo said.

"Oh, boy, we got a Speed Demon fan on our hands." said Hiro.
