A/N: A bonus mini-chapter! ;)

Can I betray the man who once inspired my voice? Do I become his prey? Do I have a choice?

Rey knows what she must do. She just doesn't know if she has the strength to do it.

She locked herself in the 'fresher after Kylo revealed his plan to destroy the Resistance. At first, it had simply been a way to distance herself from her phantom. Had she stayed in his presence, she knows she would have given in, seen things his way. Whether it is the bond between them or simply Kylo's magnetism, she wouldn't have been able to refuse.

Then her mind began to reel with possibilities.

Kylo Ren would kill for her. He has killed for her. Would he also not kill for her?

She could ask him to abandon his hunt for the Resistance, but he wouldn't agree to that. Though he claims he will deny her nothing, the fervor with which he spoke of his vision — of eliminating all that stood in its way — tells her that much.

But if she leaves him — if she joins the Resistance —

He'd never hunt them down if it meant he was hunting her.

Rey lets her head fall into her hands. Her heart feels like it's being torn apart. A selfish part of her hates that she is considering this. Why can't she just stay here? Kylo Ren is dark and violent with others, yes, but he is the first person to want her. To come back for her, just like he promised. Doesn't she deserve him?

Still, she cannot let others suffer to serve her own needs. That is the difference between her and her phantom.

Rey lifts her head, steeling her resolve.

She has to find a way to contact the Resistance.
