"Can't remember which way to go until I see it, but I'm pretty sure we're almost there." Sierra told Victor.

"You've been saying that for 20 minutes while I've been circling."

November looked around as the two argued and spotted a woman picking up her toddler daughter from a stroller.

"I know. I'm sorry." Sierra said.

"Stop the car." November called out.

Sierra turned to her, "What?"

"I know where Katie is." November insisted with a smile.

"You do?" Victor questioned.

"That's wonderful." Sierra said with a smile.

"Are you sure?" Oscar asked.

November smiled and nodded, "I am… let me out here."

"Can I take you there after we deal with this Nolan guy? She says we're almost there." Victor said.

"I'll go with Oscar… right?" November said as she squeezed Oscar's hand for support.

Oscar smiled softly, squeezing her hand back in reassurance, "I'll stay with you."

"We can't just leave you both here. Until we figure things out, we should stick together. Help each other." Sierra insisted.

"I remember my life." November said.

"You're sure?" Sierra asked.

"Yes." November said.

"And I'll be with her every step of the way." Oscar reassured the others.

Sierra sighed, "Alright then. It's why we left. We decide for ourselves now."

Victor parked the car, letting Oscar and November out of the car.

"Good luck." Sierra said solemnly.

"You too." November said with a half-smile.

"I hope it's easy for you to go back home. Whatever it is." Victor said.

"Don't worry." Oscar told them, "I'll be sure to help her with anything she needs."

Victor and Sierra then drove off, leaving Oscar and November on their own.

Oscar turns to her with a smile, "Lead the way."

November smiled as she lead the way past a catholic school full of children in their school uniforms playing. As they continued walking, she lead him to a small cemetery and Oscar began to realize why he must have felt so strongly towards November. She led him to a gravestone labeled: In God's care beloved Katie. As soon as she saw it, she knelt before it and traced the words as she sobbed for what she had lost. Oscar let loose tears of his own as he pulled her into a hug. What he hadn't been able to truly remember, he knew what it was now. He had lost his best friend to death and he had wanted to comfort his other friend, the significant other of his best friend. He had wanted to help his friend with their grief, like he was now helping November. November and Oscar leant down against the tombstone, holding one another's hand in comfort. They immediately fell asleep, not even awakening when four men dressed in business suits came to the graveyard and picked them both up. It was time to return them to the place they belonged to now: the dollhouse.

FLASHBACK BEGINS

"Unless anyone here thinks they've got a better idea." DeWitt said before turning away.

"We give them what they need." Dr. Saunders said.

DeWitt turned to look at her in surprise, "Dr. Saunders…"

They all turned to look at her, curious about what her idea was.

"Closure. If actives have particularly poignant or reoccurring experiences, these can cause desires, emotional needs, or reactivate old ones that existed before they came here. Open loops. If they were able to close those loops, to get some sense of resolve…"

"You're recommending we allow them to take a self-guided journey." DeWitt questioned.

"Just the priority cases, except for Oscar. While he doesn't seem to be having any problems, it's best to include him within the group due to the unrest happening so close around him. Better to nip it in the bud, just in case." Dr. Saunders assured, "Let the tide come in. It's the only way to wash it back out."

FLASHBACK ENDS

Boyd watched from a distance as his active was wiped once more, "Has the tide turned? Are they better now?"

"Each active's brain was programmed to release a sedative the moment they felt closure. They're all back with us, so… I have to assume they've resolved the issues that caused them to glitch." Dr. Saunders told him.

"November needed to grieve for her daughter, I understand that… and Sierra… she needed to confront the man who took away her power."

"One of them anyways." Dr. Saunders agreed, "As I recall, you confronted the other one."

"And Echo… she wanted to free us all…" He paused before turning towards her, "But what about Oscar? Or Victor? They weren't going back to a trauma or need from their past."

"Oscar, in a way, was going back to a trauma from his past. Oscar is similar to November, he lost someone very close to him. He stayed with November and helped her as much as he could with her grief, similar to what he wanted to do with the significant other of the person he too had lost. And Victor… he had a more present need."

"He needed to get the girl." Boyd said.

"He's in love." She replied softly.

"When Echo was leading them out, I would have liked to have seen that. Even if it was all a game… your game."

"Do you think I had fun?" Dr. Saunders asked, hurt that he would think so lowly of her.

"I don't know you very well…"

"You have to look after Echo… I have to look after all of them. She wasn't leading them to freedom. She was leading them to a world of terror and chaos that would have destroyed them." Dr. Saunders said, assured that her view was correct.

"She's not leading them anywhere anymore."

"You should be grateful."

"Yeah… I'll work on that…" Boyd said sarcastically as he left the room.

Echo, November, Victor, Sierra, and Oscar went about their day after being wiped once more. They were once more dressed in their dollhouse attire as they blankly went from one activity to the next until it was time for them to go to bed. They slowly went into their sleeping chambers and laid down within their pods. The frosted glass door of their pods soon began to close, hiding them from view once more. Everything was as it should be.
