Looking down at a small heap of reports on blood distribution Geoffrey could not help but snort at how this would be equally insulting and flabbergasting to his younger self. He would probably try and kill him if he was honest, but at the same time he would start laughing at how stupid it sounded. "A vampire minister?! That is the best excuse you could come up with, you sniveling leech?!" he could already hear his younger HUMAN self reacting, but it was true. He was now part of the secret Ekon ministry. In charge of enforcing rules, regulating the population of and distributing blood and human body parts to all the sane Ekons and Skals in Britain and Ireland. Sometimes it was hard, other times it was just mind numbingly boring like today (tonight). He looked around his office with its cream walls with his awards and photos of himself with various other ministers and former PMs. His eyes then fell on a board of prominent missing Ekons, and in the center was what made his heart clench to this day. "MISSING EKON, JONATHAN REID. LAST SEEN Tenth of March 1975". They had gone out drinking just a few days before he disappeared, well what they considered drinking but just talking in a pub with drinks in their hands. At first he thought he was just busy with his research on how to better get organ recipients less likely to reject the new organs, but even then he would still contact him through their connection as sire and progeny to say he was alright but he never did. All he has ever gotten for the past 9 years going on 10 was just a feeling that he was alive, nothing more.

He rubbed his eyes and flipped through some of the reports on his desk till he came upon yet another report of a blood/body delivery intended for the Vampiric population of Southern Belfast getting ransacked by some dumb militia again. He frankly didn't care who did it, if it was republicans or unionists all it meant was that some ekons and skals would not be able to feed themselves again for a week, which means more reports of morgue robberies and drained farm animals are in his future. "Feck can these idiots ever stop with this nonsense" he muttered as he brought his hand to rub his temple in agitated resignation. He thought that decades ago he would have probably not even cared if he got reports of missing bodies from morgues or dead farm animals. Ever since the government took over and merged Priwen with the Home Ministry after they found out about the true disaster of the London spanish flu outbreak, attacks on humans by members of the vampiric population have fallen by over 500% since the Ekon shadow ministry was established in 1927 and records about attacks first began. He had been working for the Ekon Ministry for almost 58 years with most of it as its minister with only a few leaves of absence from the position. Which is exactly where he is now, in his smaller office and frankly the decreased level of responsibility was exactly what he needed. Since Jonathan went missing in 75 it was weighing on him more and more until the Winter of Discontent came in 1978 which finally convinced him to resign from his ministership and return to a more subordinate position in the ministry though still very high up. His stomach was starting to growl and his fangs started to descend more, meaning that it was time to get dinner. He pushed back his chair and stood up to walk out of his private office towards the kitchen area at the end of the hallway. As he passed by a series of cubicles, half of which were occupied by Ekon, Skal, and humans alike."Good morning Mr Mccullum, are you heading to the kitchen?" asked Julia,a fair skinned, red hair ekon. "Your intuition serves you again " remarked Geoffery in a near deadpan tone. She snorts to herself and as Geoffery walks further away he can faintly hear "I am not an old woman" in a falsely insulted tone. He smirks to himself as he continues on till he hears the sound of a television on and he speeds up till he reaches another cubicle."Mr Lyold what have I told you about watching tv while at work!?" he asks Alex, a blonde, pale human man."B-but I already completed my tasks for tonight" he asks in a slightly frightened tone as he squirmed to turn the portable tv's volume to zero. "Have you completed the P-27s for the Newcastle and Middlesbourogh areas that you were assigned?" Geoffery asked in a questioning manner. "Y-yes Mr. McCullum they are right here" he gestured to the left end of his corner desk where they were in a neat stack. "Alright then...Just try to keep it down will ya?" Geoffrey asks as he walks the rest of the way toward the kitchen.

He entered the kitchen and promptly went to the vending machine with a red stripe across the top. "Hmm what to drink, what to drink?" he questions to himself as he looks through the varied options. They were human, chicken, cow, pig and horse. "Ehh pig will do" he decides and presses the button for the pig. A few seconds later he picked up the bottle from the machine hamper and headed for a seat near the entryway opposite the kitchen appliances and counters. As he drinks his meal he thinks about how the very concept of vampires and humans working together in relative peace would be considered laughable by vampires and humans just 60 years ago. Of course vampires are still considered fiction by a super majority of the population, but still the fact that they can work together actually gives him hope for the future, it has for the past 30 years. His mind wonders to Reid once again, even if his past self would be too thick to admit it he really misses him. He doesnt think one day has passed in the past 10 years that he has not thought about him or where he is. All he knows is that he is alive or what an ekon counted as alive from the continued silent connection to his sire. Maybe he didn't want to be found, he thinks for a moment, or maybe he is just actually dead and I am just fooling myself. He shakes himself out of it. Not wanting to be caught in a depressive cycle while at work. He gets up and tosses the bottle into the bin while walking out to the hallway. He turns and goes to the elevators and presses the call button. He waits for about a minute before one of the two dings and opens. He walks in and presses the level B2 and the door close button. He can feel dawn approaching by the increasing weariness he feels in his body. The door dings and opens which snaps him out of it and he walks into a long hallway with low lighting and red carpet with rooms on both sides. These are where vampire employees can rest so they don't have to risk rushing home before dawn. He has a flat but its easier to sleep here on most weekdays except friday. He enters one of them and heads straight to bed. Already feeling the sun fixing to rise outside.
