A/N New Story, originally this was posted on AO3 but I've also decided to post here.

I hope you enjoy it.

Whistler groaned as he dug a hole in the grave that the Powers that be had ordered him to dig up. The Body of an old Slayer that had once resided in England around 130 years before.

They had plans for the girl and were using intense magic to bring her back. To make sure the girl came back healthy and whole while also closing the door against dark creatures that would try to follow after her.

Sending the girl back in a new body would not have been possible since they needed this Slayer to be recognized when the time was right. So there he was in the middle of the night digging up a grave from the late 1800s. The PTB had informed him of what his role to the Slayer would be, and how exactly she would be resurrected. The PTB hadn't needed to explain what he needed to do prior to his arrival. By the time they informed him of his new mission he'd already started his journey to England.

Digging yourself out of a coffin was not something he wished on his enemy. Let alone a girl who died at the young age of 18.

It hadn't taken him that long to find the grave he was searching for despite the grave being located in the oldest part of the cemetery the grave itself was nicely kept (well compared to some of the other graves that looked like they hadn't been touched in decades) flowers that were completely wilted were still on the grave, but Whistler could tell that they had been placed there only a year or so ago.

His shovel hit something wooden and he put the shovel down and started wiping away the dirt off the coffin. His nose wrinkled when he saw the half-rotted box but refused to be swayed from his duty. With a grunt, he pulled the coffin out of the earth and lifted it out of the hole he had made.

Whistler jumped out of the grave and knelt down beside the old box. He held his breath and opened the half-desiccated coffin to see a skeleton on the inside with just a bit of skin and muscle hanging loosely off the bones. The black dress she had been buried in had been destroyed through the years of decay. Though if one looked closely, they would be able to tell that what little muscle and skin there was, was growing.

It wasn't exactly a pleasant sight, watching a skeleton regrow its skin, muscle, and organs, but Whistler had also seen much worse in his long years, so he took a deep breath, bent down, and picked up the corpse.

Then he slowly turned away from the grave and walked away.

Fortunately, the PTB had set him up with an out-of-the-way house so no one would question why he was bringing a half-rotted corpse (Skin had grown throughout half the body by the time he made it to the house) into the building.

Whistler brought the corpse in the house and upstairs into a large bedroom right next to his own. Gently he placed her on the Queen-Sized bed, a bed he had been assured was the softest bed he could afford.

The Slayer's naturally medium brown hair was starting to sprout from the newly reskinned scalp, nails were slowly growing back, and lashes were growing from her closed eyelids.

Then he walked to the closet that had been set up for her and removed a few comfortable clothes to lay over the bed frame. In case the young slayer decided to wear something more comfortable. Then sat down by her bed and waited patiently.

It took hours for her body to finish growing. For all the organs and veins and arteries to remake themselves. Even her dress, a black Victorian gown, repaired itself.

When the body was fixed, from the ceiling a bright light descended and hovered over the body as though trying to decide if this was something it really wanted to do, before descending gently into the girl's body.

For a moment everything was silent.

Then girl's eyes opened with a sudden gasp.

A/N I likely won't go into detail as to why this resurrection doesn't make the first evil stronger, but basically the PTB aren't Willow and they are able to do things to make sure that the resurrection doesn't backfire on the rest of the world.

I originally had her death as 16, changed it to 18.
