T'Pol knew she had to focus on her meditation. She hadn't been feeling herself lately and her thoughts kept on drifting. Trip had been on her mind, closing her eyes she could clearly remember his voice, his scent, his smile.
Blowing out the candle, T'Pol got up, her door chiming moments later.
"Commander," she greeted, feeling something weird in her chest. "Come in."
"I just wanted to see if you wanted some company," Trip replied, smiling at her.
"Your company is most welcome," T'Pol responded, going over to him and placing a hand on his chest. Trip's hand covered hers.
T'Pol could barely think straight. Her thoughts were scattered, her head pounding, her vision blurred. She was sure the blood on her fingertips came from the side of her head from when she was knocked unconscious.
Feeling a firm grip around her waist she knew that Trip was there. She knew that touch intimately and it was one she trusted.
"I've got you, I promise," Trip softly said, leading her to the transport site.
Feeling them stop walking, T'Pol rested her head against Trip's chest and breathed in the familiar scent. She was safe, she was going to be okay.
T'Pol leaned against the far wall of sickbay, Trip by her side, their hands linked together, as Doctor Phlox worked relentlessly over Elizabeth. Elizabeth had only been in their lives for a few short days and she was a very sick baby. Phlox was doing his best to make sure Elizabeth was comfortable and pain free.
T'Pol thought today was going to be her last day with the baby but at the last minute, Phlox figured out how to save Elizabeth and when he spoke those words T'Pol felt relief wash over her. Her daughter was going to be okay.
The first time T'Pol held Elizabeth after Doctor Phlox was able to save her, she felt the tears begin to brim in her eyes. Trip's hand on her shoulder was reassuring as her daughter smiled up at her, her tongue poking out a little bit.
"She's perfect," Trip said, reaching down as Elizabeth grabbed onto his finger, holding it tight.
"She is, she really is," T'Pol agreed, unable to tear her eyes away from the small baby in her arms.
Letting a rare smile grace her face, T'Pol felt a gentle kiss being pressed to the crown of her head.
T'Pol never realised that she could feel emotional pain on such a deep level as she was currently feeling.
Trip was lying unconscious on the hard bed of sickbay, covered in machines and various natural remedies as Doctor Phlox did his best to save Trip's life. It was touch and go, and T'Pol found herself praying for a miracle.
There was a massive explosion in Engineering and Trip was caught right in the centre and now T'Pol found herself by his bedside, cradling their daughter, hoping that he would wake up and tell her it was going to be okay.
"Good morning, Elizabeth," T'Pol said, picking up the smiling baby. "Are you ready for breakfast?" she asked, holding her daughter close to her chest.
"Try some baby talk next instead of being direct, she coos like crazy and tries talking back," Trip said, handing T'Pol a bottle of milk.
"I do not wish to stunt her neurodevelopment." Sitting down with Elizabeth, T'Pol fed her and let a small smile grace her face as Elizabeth grabbed onto and held her finger.
Feeling Trip press a soft kiss to her head, T'Pol felt her chest fill with emotion. She loved her family.
T'Pol trusted Trip, she trusted him with everything and as he lay there on their bed with their daughter laying across his chest, she knew that she had chosen the right mate.
Trip and Elizabeth were her everything, they were her life and she didn't trust anyone enough to let them into their bubble.
Watching as Trip gently rubbed Elizabeth's back and Elizabeth cooed back at him, T'Pol joined them on the bed, laying down on her side. Reaching out, she gently ran her hand over the soft hair on Elizabeth's head and let a small smile grace her face.
This was home to T'Pol. Home was wherever she, Trip, and Elizabeth were. They had been moved to family quarters not long after Elizabeth had been stabilised and well enough to leave sickbay.
Around their room were images of their families, images they had taken together, and a lot of images of Elizabeth. T'Pol had her favourite family photo of the three of them on her work desk so whenever she needed to look at it, she could.
T'Pol one day hoped to take her new family to Vulcan and introduce her daughter to her mother and maybe marry Trip.
T'Pol was very fond of tea but as Elizabeth cried for the hundredth time that day, she picked up Trip's coffee and took a sip. Coffee was something she did not drink but when Elizabeth wasn't feeling well and needed her, T'Pol needed caffeine.
Gently bouncing Elizabeth as she walked around in circles, Elizabeth started to settle in her arms, her eyes trying not to close. Placing Elizabeth down in the cot, T'Pol softly rubbed her chest until she fell asleep.
Feeling Trip wrap an arm around her waist, T'Pol leaned into him, allowing herself to relax in his arms.
The path in front of them was rocky, it was a path no Vulcan, Human, and Vulcan-Human hybrid had walked before. No one knew how but word had gotten out about Elizabeth and they were not safe on the Enterprise anymore.
T'Pol, Trip, and Elizabeth hid aboard a shuttlepod, waiting for the right moment to escape into the atmosphere of the planet below. As the Enterprise shifted, Trip knew it was their cue.
Descending through the atmosphere of the planet, they landed out of sight inside of an empty barn. The house was stocked and waiting for them to enter.
