I do not own any of these characters besides Sterling and Doctor College. This is going to be the final update before I spend the next few days preparing for the next exam.
I hope you enjoy it.
"I just don't know what to do, Doctor," Wendy cried as a buried her face into her palms. She was now back in Dr. College's office and was still overwhelmed by the grievances Stan's friends have shared, as well as the bickering that was still going on between them and her own friends.
College nodded as he scribbled a few notes on his notepad. "Ms. Testaburger, what are your current objectives at the moment?"
Wendy sniffled as she looked up at the doctor. College reached over for a box of tissues and handed a sheet to his patient. Wendy took the tissue, gave him a grateful smile, and wiped the wayward tears from her eyes as she spoke. "Right now, I have obtained a relationship with my son. It has been long overdue, but I am glad it is here. As for Stan, I don't know..."
"What are your concerns? He has taken into back into his home, after all."
"I know, it's just...I want more. I want to be with him. I know this may sound crazy, but I believe he is the one. I have grown up with him. I have grown up with ignoring his hints at dates, grown up with the teasing in elementary school with my girls...I feel a connection to him."
"If so, then what made you abandon him in the first place."
Wendy paused for a moment before letting out an exhausted sigh. "I don't know...I was just scared."
"Scared of what?" College asked with an eyebrow raised.
"Scared of letting him down...and I can see that leaving him for a year didn't do anyone any favors."
College nodded before scribbling the rest of his notes.
"If you're happy and you know it, clap your hands!" Stan sang as he sat with his son in the middle of the playroom he had set up for Sterling. The father-son duo clapped along with the song as Stan sang again with a grin. "If you're happy and you know it, clap your hands!" Sterling excitedly clapped his hands together as Stan sang again, but this time louder. "If you're happy and you know it, your face will surely show it! If you're happy and you know it, clap your hands!"
Sterling laughed as his father tackled him in a bone-crushing hug following the final cue for them to clap. Just then, Wendy entered the room with a smile.
"I see you guys are having a good time...Stan, do you mind if we chat for a bit?"
Stan nodded as he laid his son back onto the ground and followed Wendy into the living room and sat on the couch with her. "What's up?"
Wendy sighed as she spoke nervously. "Are you ready for this?"
Stan blinked in confusion as he frowned deeply. "What do you mean?"
"The other day, Cartman and Kenny-"
Just then, Stan interrupted Wendy with a finger to her lips, silencing her. "Wendy, it doesn't matter what they think. Kenny doesn't realize that our relationship is fixing itself, and Cartman is just a plain idiot. Take my word for it, you are doing a good job so far as a mother, and your past mistake should not define you anymore."
Wendy felt her eyes grow damp as she felt the urge to break down in Stan's arms. He wanted this. He wanted a relationship with her, after everything she has done. After the pressure from both his parents and his friends to never take her back...he was willing to try this again, this time with a two-year-old in the house.
She sniffled as she spoke. "I have been working with Doctor College on how we can work out a relationship...are you sure you are willing to give me a second chance?"
Stan thought for a moment and smiled. "Wendy, I'd rather take you back and faced the heartbreak if you leave again than shun you out and live with a broken heart for the rest of my life. You will always miss every shot you don't take, and I am taking my shot now."
Wendy smiled sadly. "You were always a risk-taker."
Stan held her hands firmly. He leaned over and to Wendy's shock, pressed his lips against hers for just a second. "You're worth the risk, Wendy. I always dreamed of you coming back, and I am never letting you go again."
Wendy squealed in joy as she grabbed both of Stan's shoulders and practically smashed her lips against his. It was the day things were finally going to be repaired...permanently.
The next day, Stan came home from work with Sterling piggy-backing on his back. The apartment was empty. After settling Sterling down in his seat in the kitchen, Stan pulled out his phone and texted Nichole.
'Hey, where's Wendy?'
After a moment, Nichole replied back. 'We're both working late. Our clients are driving us through the roof.'
Stan read the text and sent Nichole a 'thumbs-up' emoji. Just then, his son started making fussy noises from his seat. Stan rushed to his son's aid and asked him.
"Sterling, what's wrong?"
Sterling blinked at him with teary eyes. "Where's Mommy?"
Stan almost broke down at hearing his son's heartbreaking tone. He hugged him tightly and spoke. "Mommy is at work, she is coming soon."
Sterling sniffled as Stan dug his fingers through his son's hair, which seemed to always soothe the 2-year-old. "Don't leave me, Daddy?"
Stan shook his head as he whispered to his little boy. "I ain't going anywhere, son." He smiled. Things were actually going to become better. He just knew it. The love he had for Wendy was not something that could easily be described. He just had this connection. A connection to her that he didn't want to let go of.
I'm sorry if this chapter sucked. My mind has succumbed to a lot of stress lately and this was all I could come up with. Hope you liked it, though.
Well, time to study.
