I do not own any of these characters. I have decided to wrap up this story early just so I can move on to other projects.
Thank you for sticking around throughout this entire story.
A lot has happened in the past two years. It has been approximately 4 years since Sterling was born, and approximately 4 years since Wendy departed for a year. Throughout the duration of the past 3 years, Wendy has repaired her relationship with both her lover and her son.
It was one of those peaceful Saturday mornings, days after Sterling's third birthday. Wendy had driven home from work and was stopped at the doorway when the door opened and Sterling came running towards her. He flung herself into her arms and the embrace reduced Wendy to tears. It was something she would not trade for anything in the world.
Then, Stan popped the question. Protests from both his mother and father did not stop him once thinking of his decision to marry Wendy once and for all.
With the support of Wendy's parents and all of their friends, they managed to organize a wedding in Downtown Denver, before going on a honeymoon to Hawaii, leaving Sterling for a few days at Wendy's parents' house, since Stan's parents were still not thrilled of having a 'back-stabber' for a daughter-in-law.
But alas, they had to cope, and they decided to reconcile with Wendy, even giving her a late wedding gift: an ankle monitor, in case she would try to flee again. They all laughed as if it was a joke. At least, Stan hoped it was a joke.
Now they had bought a house and had welcomed a new member to the family, on purpose this time. A beautiful baby girl named Whitney. She had her mother's eyes and her overall looks, but she still got her distinct shade of hair from her father, as well as his round nose.
Now it was the day of Whitney's check-up with the pediatrician. Wendy was planning on coming along but decided to stay while Sterling was taking a nap. They would ask Nichole and Token to come to watch Sterling, but Nichole was on maternity leave as she and Token were trying to adjust to raising their triplets.
Stan very reluctantly left Sterling alone with Wendy, trusting she wouldn't leave again. Why should she? The last time she did, she almost ruined every relationship she had, and Stan trusted her.
But there was still a little niggling doubt that she would stay, and it crawled behind Stan as he pulled into the driveway of their new house.
He unstrapped his daughter and carried her in her bucket, and Stan detached it from its based and brought her into the house.
The house was quiet as Stan walked down the narrow hallway that led to the living room. He gulped as fear began to sprout in his mind. Wendy leaving and taking Sterling this time.
He was about to call for her as he reached the living room, carrying his daughter when a beautiful sight caused him to smile.
Wendy was still in her pajamas, fast asleep on the couch, her arms around a napping Sterling. Cuddling with him as if he was a teddy bear.
Sterling walked over and leaned to give his wife a kiss on the forehead. Wendy's eyes slightly opened as she smiled.
"I'm here," she muttered. "I am not going anywhere."
Sorry for the poor ending. I have to move on to other stories, but I hope this was worth it.
