CHAPTER 3: IS IT LIZARD, OR JUST AN IMITATION?

Orbweaver, Komodo Dragon, the Serpent Sisters, and some of the Spiders were gathering information about the crimes that were being dealt in Sparkyville. So far, no Lizard from Tarantula's reign of terror was involved. All of the Lizards that managed to stay out of juvenile detention stayed on the straight and narrow, and had given up being in gangs altogether. Komodo had checked on her old partner Skink to see if she was still on the wrong side of the tracks.

"I haven't been in any kinda trouble, Komodo," she said to her old partner. "Not since we were defeated by th' Spiders and Serpents."

"Good, Skink," said Komodo. "Then we know none of our old Lizards are responsible for what's happening."

"Y' need any help findin' the jerks?"

"Maybe. I'll let you know."

Elsewhere, Orbweaver was at Ace's Ice Cream Shop talking to her boyfriend Rudy Ace, Jr. about the crime wave. She wanted to know if he had heard about anything suspicious.

"Well, aside from people talking about what has already been reported on the news, nothing out of the ordinary," he said to his girlfriend. "Plus, no suspicious kids has been coming in here. Just the usual crowd."

"Okay, thanks, baby," said Weaver, kissing him on the cheek. "I'll be back later tonight before your dad closes up the place."

"Okay, Wanda."

On another side of town, Lucy, Cobra, Rattler, and Anaconda were talking to the Serpents Prime to see if they heard anything about who was doing the crimes in town.

"Other than the news reports, we know nothing about any new gangs forming," said Sidewinder. "If anything comes up, we will let you know."

"Thanks, Sidewinder," said Cobra. And they left their hideout. Outside, Cobra said, "Who could these kids be?"

"I don't know, Cobra," said Lucy. "Komodo Dragon said it isn't any of the old Lizards reforming. So, that's good news."

"But what if it's another group trying to revive the Lizard Ladies?" wondered Rattler.

"If it is, Black Widow will know," said Cobra. "Speaking of, she told me she had something important to tell us. It has to do with your mystery visitor, Mamba."

"Really?' said Lucy. "Maybe we'll find out who this person is, once and for all, and what they know about Python and I."

"I'm pretty curious about that, as well," added Rattler.

"She wants all of us to meet up with her as soon as we can once this situation with the possible new gang is sorted out," Cobra continued.

"I just hope this mystery person isn't anyone sinister," said a worried Lucy. "Or that this gang is a new version of the Lizard Ladies, if it is a gang at all." And the girls continued to gather any information on the crimes.

Over at Sparkyville Police Department, Tyrone was going over some files when his department captain came in.

"Tyrone," he said, "you have a visitor. It's your daughter and her boyfriend." Tyrone walked into over to see Vanessa and Mitchell.

"Hey, dad," said Vanessa.

"How are you, baby girl?" said Tyrone, hugging his daughter.

"I'm good," Vanessa replied.

"How are you doing, Mitchell?" asked Tyrone to his daughter's suitor.

"Pretty well, sir," said Mitchell.

"We were wondering if you'll be busy tomorrow," Vanessa continued.

"Unfortunately, I've been busy on this case of the possible gang violence, as well as another assignment that's still top-secret," Tyrone responded. He was obviously wiped out. "It's been all hands on deck, as of late."

"I was going to invite a couple of my friends over to meet you," said Vanessa, worried she wouldn't see her father. "Do you think you can at least make a stop at the house for a brief moment?"

"I'll see what I can do, baby," assured Tyrone.

"Thank you, dad." Vanessa kissed her father on the cheek. "I'll see you later."

"Good seeing you again, sir," said Mitchell.

"You too, son," said Tyrone. "Tell your mother I'll call soon as I can."

"I will, dad," said Vanessa. "See you soon."
