Hey guys, I've had this buzzing around in my head since the first time I watched Venom 2 in the cinema. So I finally wrote an alternate beach scene. Might write a sequel or add a chapter for later in the hotel room, we'll see what happens. I just absolutely love them and can't get enough, so there's no doubt that I'll write more for this ship at some point ^_^
Hope you enjoy this, much love xox

The beach was nice, Eddie wasn't really that fussed about beaches if he was honest though. He was a city boy, but it made Venom happy, and that was what truly made this place picturesque. He could probably get used to living anywhere as long as he had Venom. They were a team; 'Lethal Protectors' together until the end and all that.
Eddie let his mind wander as he watched the waves gently slide up the sand only to be drawn back out again. He thought about everything they had been through together, their fights, investigations, the chickens, but also watching movies, getting chocolate ice cream, and visiting Mrs Chen. He felt a pang of sadness about not getting to say goodbye to Mrs Chen, and he could tell Venom would have wanted to as well. They had already risked enough by going back home for the essentials though, there just hadn't been time, and Eddie had to get them across the border before his name got flagged. Annie had promised to tell Mrs Chen goodbye for them, but it wasn't the same.
There was something else niggling at Eddie's mind; Carnage. They hadn't really discussed it, what with the running from the law and everything, there hadn't been the chance too, and while Eddie had a vague idea of how this all happened, he wasn't entirely sure. He also had zero clue about Klyntar reproduction or family ties, or anything. Now he had time to think about, Eddie was curious. Venom hadn't really spoken much about his past or his species, unless he was making a point or it was useful information, but they had a lot of time on their hands now, so maybe Eddie could pry.
Eddie wrung his hands nervously and without looking at the head next to his shoulder, he asked the big question that was on his mind, "So, uh, did-did we have a child?"
"Yes, Carnage was our offspring," came the simple answer, as if it were an everyday thing to talk about your murderous alien love child.
"Oh, okay," even though he'd asked the question he wasn't really expecting yes as the answer, moreover he wasn't prepared for the implications of yes being the answer, "and, um, how exactly did we have a child?"
Eddie saw Venom grin in his peripheral vision, "When a Klyntar and a human love each other..."
Eddie choked a little and then laughed anxiously, "Where did you get that from?"
"A movie," Venom replied smugly.
"Man, you watch too much T.V." he waited but Venom didn't say anything else, so Eddie pursued the line of questioning, trying to think of it like an investigation and not his actual life, "What actually happened?"
"Cletus bit your hand," Venom told him as if that cleared up everything.
Eddie nodded trying to follow, "Right, so you were in my hand at that point...and Cletus, what, absorbed a piece of you?"
"Yes, we are spread through your whole body Eddie. Like you told us at the church, we have complete symbiosis, we are one Eddie," Venom's head stretched around to face him instead of the glowing sunset.
"Yeah, I get that, but how did that create a new...you?" sometimes getting answers from Venom was like pulling teeth. Venom didn't really withhold information from him on purpose, it was more that he didn't realise how much explanation Eddie needed about certain things.
"My species reproduces asexually, when it is time a piece of ourselves splits off and becomes a new entity," Venom informed him, "this case was a bit different, since it was taken by Cassidy and mixed with your blood."
"I see...are we, uh, are we expecting any more?" Eddie's voice was a bit strained, he didn't know how he felt about fathering children, let alone alien children. It wasn't that he was against the idea of being a parent, he'd always assumed that he and Annie would get there eventually, maybe after they'd gotten married. That idea was a long way away though, he was a hot mess, and had been for some time now, and that was no way to parent any child regardless of species. Not to mention that they were on the run now, far from financially stable, and currently living in a hotel room in Mexico.
"Not at this point in time," Venom assured him, then teasingly added, "unless someone bites your hand again..."
"Okay, good to know," that was a relief at least, "I'm not sure that having another Carnage around would be good for keeping a low profile."
"We are a vicious, murderous species by nature, but those instincts would have been driven in even harder from the moment Carnage was born, given that he was born straight into a host like Cassidy. We grow from our hosts when we live in them, learning from them, and even from our perspective, Cassidy was batshit crazy. Carnage didn't stand a chance of being anything but what he was."
"Hmm, I guess I never thought of it like that…"
There was silence for a while, apart from the breeze rustling the palm trees and the waves sloshing, and the birds squawking. Venom continued to squeeze the sand through his clawed toes, his head turned back towards the sunset. Meanwhile Eddie's brain went over their conversation, trying to wrap his head around the fact that he had co-parented a homicidal alien that had then tried to kill them. Something else that Venom had said surfaced in Eddie's brain too, and he just couldn't let it go…
"So you love me huh?" Eddie breached awkwardly, looking in the opposite direction to Venom's head. He sort of meant it jokingly, it was another question that he wasn't really prepared to know the answer to, but he'd still asked it.
"We thought that was obvious," Venom dropped his head onto Eddie's shoulder, "you love us too," the symbiote pointed out before licking Eddie's cheek with his wet tongue.
Eddie shivered, but pushed Venom's head away, "What the hell?" there was little fire to his words though, "And I've never said that."
"You didn't have too, we're in your head remember," there was that smug tone again, "you love us Eddie. We have never experienced love before. We thought that it was a weakness in humans, but we see now that it makes us stronger. And makes your loser host easier to live in," Venom teased him at the end, toothy grin stretched across his head.
Venom was right, of course Eddie loved him. He hadn't really realised it til now, but it was true, "Hey! Shut it, I gotta deal with your brain hunger problems," Eddie retorted, bumping Venom's head with his own.
"We need brains to survive!" Venom protested loudly.
"Yeah, yeah, I know. We'll get you some brains soon. We could both do with a meal actually," Eddie's stomach grumbled in agreement.
"See, you do love us…"
"Nah, just don't want you to eat my brain," Eddie lied.
"You do have a juicy brain…" Venom's tongue slid over his forehead, punctuating his words.
"Argh, V! Stop licking my face."
"Admit you love us."
Eddie was silent, his brain racing trying to figure out what to say, but for too long apparently because Venom licked his ear this time.
"Alright, I love you," he blurted out. Oh shit. He just said that, out loud, to Venom. His heart skipped a beat, not because he was scared, but because he knew it was true.
"We know, we love Eddie too," the symbiote stated casually, practically purring, "can we get food now, we're hungry?"
"Uh, yeah…yeah we can bud," Eddie blinked a few times before rising from the sand. It felt like his whole world had just shifted, but it was still the same. Nothing had changed, they were still a perfect match, still on the run together, still sharing a body, still had the same problems and solutions. The only difference was that they loved each other too, and if Eddie was being honest, it only made things better.
