Elijah doesn't know how long he holds Elena in his arms. It possibly couldn't have been much longer but it feels like an eternity to him. The loss of blood had impacted her in more ways than it should, she is pale, paler than she normally is and in contrast to the blood on her skin she looks like a porcelain doll, Elena suddenly gives a violent jerk, reaching for her throat, "I can't... I can't... breath... Elijah" she whirs out, her eyes bulging as panic takes over.
"Take long deep breathe's," Elijah instructs, softly as in the gravest situation he maintains a cool and calm exterior, as Elena clutches his shoulder "Elena no look at me, hear the sound of my voice focus on it, focus on it for your family. I know you can do it, Long deep breathes. That's it. Calm down. You'll be ok. You'll be ok."
Miraculously, she seems to settle for a moment, taking long deep breathes as she gasps for air and locks eyes with Elijah. But as it is said that there is calm before every storm. It only seems to last a second before Elena starts screaming in pain, clutching her stomach, squirming in the water as Elijah keeps a tight hold on her and to prevent her from drowning. It seems that it is in this moment that Elijah lost all hope of the survival of the woman in his arms as she screams before stopping all of a sudden her breath coming in pants as she tried to regain consciousness before failing and passing out.
Both the Mikaelsons look at Sophie, ridden with fear and confusion. The witch blinks calmly. "I just felt it lift," she said and takes a pinout from her hair and making a small cut on her hand. Elijah takes Elena's hand to check. There's no cut and breathes a sigh of relief. It is at that moment that Elena chooses to wake up as she takes deep breaths and then looks at Elijah in panic," The... the ." she stuttered out,
" Relax, calm down, the link is broken both of your babies are alive I can hear their heartbeat." He said in a soothing voice holding her face and stroking her hair, Elena breathes a sigh of relief as she tried to stand up,
" Come on, let's get you out of here," he said again and holds her by the shoulder as she reaches the edge of the pool, and pulls herself up.
"Elijah," Sophie said. "As soon as your brother finds out that the link is broken, he'll kill Agnes. I know you don't owe me anything, but please don't let him kill her." The original doesn't even see that statement fit for a reply as he simply rushes out of the pool,
"Please," Sophie said more forcefully. "She's our only access to the power we need to survive. Promise me that you'll stop Klaus."
"Elijah, please," Elijah said nothing before dialing Klaus number
" It's me," he said, " Where are you?"
" No don't touch her. I am on my way."
Sophie breathed a sigh of relief, " I will consider your request," Elijah told the witch.
" Elijah," Elena interrupted, " I do hope you kill the witch, or I will finish that job myself," Elijah said nothing and whirled around and went back inside the house.
Back in the house, Rebekah went to her elder brother and said,
". And now that the link has been broken, maybe we can start making plans about -"
"Not now, Rebekah," Elijah said, turning around and brushing by Rebekah to go to the St. Anne's church "Can we talk about this when I return?"
"I am not going to be here when you return," Rebekah said, making Elijah pause in his steps.
"That sounds like a goodbye," he said
" I guess it is, I only came to New Orleans to make sure you were safe. You are, I thought that I might be able to convince you to come with me but here you are rushing off into whatever Klaus and Marcel and the witches have cooked up, and I finally get it. You will never leave this city, You will never leave Klaus."
" Then you should stay," Elijah replied making his way towards her.
" The thing that you, Klaus and Marcel have I want no part in it." Rebekah explained through tears, " I just want to be free."
" Well then go," Elijah said, as he kissed his younger sister on the cheek, " You are free."
Klaus twirls the needle of sorrows in his hand, eyes never leaving the face of the haughty witch sitting across from him. His calm exterior is all but a façade. Klaus is exploding with rage on the inside. He can feel the blood pumping through Agnes's body in his bones, the vein on her neck jumping at him, begging to be drained. The beast inside is roaring, desperate to be unleashed. But he waits. And the calmer he remains, the longer the silence lasts, the antsier the witch becomes. She thinks she's doing a good job at keeping her dignity, but Klaus can hear the way her heart is hammering in her chest. How every time he moves, or blinks, or grins, her guts clench, and her whole body goes stiff. He can smell the fear on her. He'd forgotten how satisfying that was - to relish the capture before the kill. But he'll appreciate sinking his teeth into Agnes' poisonous flesh just as much. And he'll be sure to make it hurt. Maybe he'll turn a cauldron of boiling water into her mouth. Let her know how good it feels to be cooked from the inside out. The wait is giving him time to have ideas. He was annoyed by Elijah's request that he waits before finishing her. If he'd done as he pleased, she would've gotten a quick death, hours ago. As it is, who knows where Klaus' creative evil genius will take them by the end of the night? Agnes will beg for mercy before he's done with her.
" You are a piece of work Agnes," Klaus said from the place where he was sitting, before getting up, " But guess what, I am quite a piece of work myself. You know I contemplated leaving bits of you artfully arranged outside your family's tomb. I thought it would leave a fitting message, " He said with a wicked smile as he heard Elijah's footsteps he sped up towards her and grabbed her by the collar, as He the woman shuddered from head to toe. " Don't touch my family."
" Leave her." Elijah's voice broke through as Klaus turned Agnes so that her back was touching his front, " I gave my word." Elijah remarked as all of Agnes, minions got up from wherever they were.
Klaus growls, his lips curling back into an ugly grimace. "You tend to give your word at the most inopportune of times, brother. We have been doing things your way all day." Klaus growled his fury barely in check now, " Come on, just one little snap and it's Toodle-loo Agnes. She deserves it."
"Niklaus, do not make another move," Elijah says, his voice deceptively calm. "You have asked for my forgiveness. I will grant you that forgiveness, but do not make me break my word."
Klaus grinds his teeth, his jaw muscles twitching. He tilts his head maintaining an iron-tight leash on his temper and trying to hide his displeasure as he forces his body to let go of the witch in front of him. He opens his arms in an overly dramatic manner as he steps away from Agnes. It physically hurts to let that woman go free. "My noble brother," he speaks from behind grit teeth. "How's that for personal growth, eh? Still, it is just like you to spoil my fun."
"oh, not necessarily. "
In a blink, Elijah takes out the heart of Agnes's three minions as they let out a pained and surprised scream as Klaus looked at that scene with surprise and pleasure. Agnes looked shocked and horrified as Elijah dropped the three hearts on the ground with a splat. He then paused to stare at the witch in front of him while simultaneously taking out a handkerchief from his coat pocket and whipping his hands clean of that blood.
"I swore you would not die by my brother's hand. I said nothing of my own." Elijah said as he moved towards her grabbed her neck in his hand as the witch shuddered from fear, a sharp wheeze squeaking from her mouth before he twists her neck violently to the side. Agnes drops to the floor.
" You should not have hurt Elena or my brother's children. No one hurts my family and lives. No one," he says before whirling around and walking back to his car.
Klaus can't help the smile that creeps onto his lips. Divergences aside, he is actually proud of his big brother.
He wanted so desperately to be more like Elijah... Well, it seems they have more in common than he thought.
Elena barely withheld a groan of annoyance as she listened to Josh, after the terrible day she had all she wanted to was to make herself something to eat, take something for the headache, and then go to sleep but alas she did not have the privilege to do so She felt sorry for the boy she really did, he couldn't have been older than herself and free will was something that no one should be deprived of. But she couldn't find in herself to care for the moment and she doubted that Klaus would release him just because she asked it of him. Yes, she was carrying his children but she was no Caroline that he would listen to her. Elena really wished that he would magically disappear and when she was kindly and politely going to tell him to bucker off, she saw a vision of Marcel standing beside the plantation under the shade of the apple orchards and listening to their conversation. She felt her whole body freeze as she subconsciously took a step back into the house and fought to maintain her heartbeat, she needed to get rid of Klaus compelled lackey hastily,
" I have been trying to find him all day. Marcel knows that Klaus lied about where he lives," Josh said,
" Listen, Josh, I am not Klaus keeper, Rebekah has been kind enough to allow me to live with her family until I find somewhere else to live. See I know that Klaus and Marcel have some tension between them but I want any part in it. And Klaus must be coming soon, I will inform him that you came. Thank you for your time." Elena replied before shutting the door in his face as she made her way into the kitchen hoping against hope that Marcel would just leave her alone as she made her way to the kitchen, searching for her phone before she heard the sound of the doorbell ring.
So this one was a little short but I saved this chapter to reply to some of your reviews and questions,
Marzanoanita = I am really glad that you like this story and the plots that I have additionally added, I thought it would be quite boring when everyone knows what will happen till the end. And as for your wish about Elena being a traveler or a witch, I think it would be a nice surprise for you of what I have planned. Overall Elena would be more badass. I have already mentioned my thoughts on the Klaus and Elena pairing but rest assured that they would bond.
Rucky = Yes this may be a Klaroline story, but Elena is the one who got pregnant.
Guest: Haley Tuttle I am glad that you continue to review. I do plan on completing the story, and I will see where we can come up with Klaus and Elena's romance. I ship those two too.
Sunrise- Escapist = I do plan on continuing this. Please do continue reviewing.
Guest review = Maybe it will be Elijah and Elena I am still toying around with the pairings.
Chiwi-luv = It may be Elijah and Elena and well I do ship Stelena so we can agree to disagree and Klaus and Elena are great too.
S Thakur = Thank you for giving me the review, I do love constructive criticism and I know that when Sophie said that werewolves could reproduce she meant Klaus, I just made Elena into a werewolf because I think that it would be easier for the rest of the plot. Although I do hope that my explanation of how she could be one was legit enough. And well about the Karoline shippers giving the actress death threats it is insane, I don't know why all of them make Cami as some kind of a lunatic or a bad person, yes she has her faults but she is not bad at all, there is something beautiful with the relationship of Klaus and Camille. Although I am not sure if you like the pairing, or not. And it would be so good if the writers had introduced that storyline. I think Hope could have done with a sister.
Guest review = Well, Karoline may be a thing, I am still toying with the ideas of the pairings. You have to continue reading to find out. Although I am giving a spoiler she is going to show up very soon in this story.
Guest review = Stefan and Davina well that is a new pairing, I will see what I can do with it.
Guest: Guardian-97 = I plan on updating regularly. Do continue reviewing,
Guest review = Please read the above messages and I love that you liked the story.
Guest review = Don't be disappointed just yet about Klaus and Elena not being a pairing, they might be. But your suggestions are great. Stefan and Lexi, I mean why not they are just so good, Elena and Elijah is a lovely pairing and I ship Kamille because she believed in him that he could be a better man, they have such a beautiful connection. I think not many understand it. Do tell me who do you think Damon should be paired off with, I think Bonnie or an OC. I doubt it would be Caroline.
Wazman =I don't think that there is anyone who doesn't love Lexi, she deserved better. I think the time that Stefan almost drowned Elena in the Wickery bridge was a turning point for their relationship. Elena always felt safe with Stefan and that incident was traumatic for her. and I don't hate Delena but not a fan of it either. I was worried if people would like me putting Stefan in the story so early, glad you liked it and as for Damon I don't think he needs a reason to get into trouble. Katherine will likely stay clear of Klaus for some time but she will make an appearance, and Elena will find herself in a lot of trouble because of her, but I will be showing Elena into the scene when Klaus and Rebekah go visit Katerina on her supposed death bed. Maybe I will add Elijah too in the mix, I think he does deserve to say goodbye to her.
