Jessica sipped on her coffee as she looked over Tony's email; he had already ordered some of the larger, more expensive parts for the boat. While Sarah had ordered some of the smaller, less costly parts, all the other Avengers had to do was set up their fundraiser to get the rest of the money for the other parts. She finished up her coffee and sent Tony an email letting him know what parts Sarah had bought before throwing her cup away. She waved to the barista at the counter before exiting and walking down the sidewalk. She looked in the windows of the various shops; she had to admit that Delacroix was a lovely town, and she could see herself coming back to visit more often.

She stopped when she passed by a clothing store; in the window was a plum-colored dress. It had a slit up the side that showed the second layer underneath; it had three layers that made it look like flower petals at the bottom. She walked in to get a better look at it, the spaghetti straps crossed in the back, and a string in the middle of the mannequin's back traveled back and forth to keep the dress closed. "Hey, Jessica. Looking at the dress?" came Sarah's voice. Jess jumped and turned to face her, a hand to her chest, and she let out a breath.

"Yeah. I happened to see it while I was walking down the sidewalk. Do you work here? I wanted to see if it fit me."

"Oh no, I don't work here. My friend Zara owns the shop, and I was stopping in for a visit. She's in the back; I'll go get her." Sarah said before disappearing behind a curtain. A minute later, she came out, followed by an older woman that looked to be of Indian descent walked out behind her. "She wants to see that dress in the window Zara." Sarah said as she pointed at the dress.

"Oh, of course, let me just get it down for you." Zara said, and with Sarah's help, she pulled the dress off the mannequin. Zara walked over to Jess, making sure not to drag the dress on the floor, and she handed it over to her while showing her where the changing room was while she was in the changing room; Sam walked through the door.

"Hey, sis. Carlos said that you were visiting Zara today." He said as he wrapped an arm around Sarah.

"Hey, Sam. I thought you weren't going to be home until later today." She said with a smile.

"I caught an earlier flight; I wanted to surprise you, so I didn't say anything." He told her. A second later, Jessica walked out of the dressing room to get Zara and Sarah's opinions. Sam took one look at her, and his jaw dropped; Sarah smirked at him before reaching up and shutting his mouth.

"You're going to catch flies." She said with a laugh.

"Who's that?" Sam whispered to her.

"Oh, this is Jessica Mays; she's a friend of Tony's. Steve told the other Avengers that we needed help coming up with the money to fix the boat up, and they agreed to help us come up with the funds. Since none of them know a thing about boats, Tony asked Jessica to come down herself. Sarah said as Sam and Jessica shook hands.

"How do you know about boats?" Sam asked.

"My family owns a fishing business in Maine, and my mom and dad started it just like your parents did. I grew up on boats all my life."

"And you came down to help people you don't know?" Sam asked, surprised.

"People that didn't know my parents helped them out. It's only fair that I pay it forward." She said with a smile.

"Well, I can show you down to the boat if you want." He said as he walked towards the door.

"Oh, Sarah already took me down. I've been down here a few days." She said, not wanting him to waste his time.

"So you're just here for pleasure now?" Sam asked.

"Basically. I just wanted to make sure that Tony had ordered some parts. I was going to head to your house a bit later to let Sarah know because I thought she was working, but I just happened to bump into her by happenstance." She told him.

"So what do you think of Delacroix?" he asked, and she nodded her head.

"It's nice. I wouldn't mind coming back every so often to visit. Everyone I've met here is so lovely, I'd say it's like Mayberry, but I've seen more cop cars here than Mayberry ever had." She said with a laugh. Sam and Sarah let out a snort before Jessica remembered what she had been doing. "Oh! I almost forgot! What do you think, girls? Does it look good on me?" she asked as she slowly did a spin. Zara and Sarah seemed to think it over while they watched her.

"It fits you so well." Sarah said once she stopped spinning.

"I know. I have dresses in this size, and they've never fit me as well as this does right off the rack." She said with a smile.

"It does seem like it was made for you," Zara said as she looked on in amazement "I don't think I've seen a dress fit anyone better." She said as she examined the dress. "What do you think? Do you like this? I have more I can show you if it's not quite what you're looking for."

"Oh, no, no. I like this one. But I will look at the other ones you have." She said as she went back into the changing room to take the dress off. Over the next half, an hour or so, Jessica tried on a few other dresses that Zara found for her, either putting them with the plum dress she had first seen or hanging it on another hook to be put back in place. She helped Zara put the dresses back on the racks and bought the ones she had picked out. As she walked down the sidewalk to walk back to her car to put the dresses away, Sam called out from the doorway.

"Hey, Jess." He said, and she stopped before turning to face him. "If you need someone to show you around before you leave, you know where I'm at." He said, and she looked at him, shocked. Sarah raised an eyebrow behind him before shaking her head with a laugh turning to Zara, who was laughing to herself.

"Oh, okay. That'd be nice. I'm not sure where some of these places are that people have told me about, and it'll be nice to have someone show me around. I'm only going to be here for a few more days, though, so we'll have to squeeze in as much as possible." She said before walking back down the sidewalk. Sam turned and saw the look that Sarah and Zara were giving him.

"What?"

"Just met the woman and already asking her out?" Sarah asked.

"Now, hold on, I didn't say it was a date, and I was trying to be friendly." He said as he rolled his eyes. Sarah raised an eyebrow at him.

"Mmhmm, that's exactly what you told dad when you took that girl out on the boat when we were younger too."

"She was just a fling, Sarah; we both know that. And besides, she had a thing for Eric." He said.

"A fling? Is that what you're going to call it since she dumped you for Eric." She said with a laugh.

"Ouch, bringing up old wounds." He said, holding his hand to his chest.

"You were sixteen, Sam. It's beyond time to get over her." She said before going back to talking to Zara.

"You're just mad because you had a thing for Eric. Puppy love, remember?" he said as he headed out the door.

"Where are you going?" she asked.

"Home to see my nephews; you know someone that will be happy to see me." He said before putting his nose up in the air and walking to his truck.

"God, he's so dramatic." Sarah said as he got in and drove off.

"He's been like that since you were younger. At least some things never change, Zara said as she checked to make sure that all of the clothing was put back and straightened some of them up.
