Ok. For those who've seen my other fics, this one will be odd. Cause I was thinking of reversing roles. =P I was wondering what would happen if KAGOME was the one that was a half-demon and then INUYASHA was the reincarnation of OKITOKI? XD Silly… But, it was bugging meee~ =( ==And I shall give Kagome superstrength! As well as make her a little taller and "Bigger" xD==

Reversed Tale:

Chapter Two: Trust

Promise is a big word. It either makes something or it breaks something.

Kagome waited for a few hours the next day and gave Okitoki a shell-like container.

"What is this?" He asked.

"I have no need to carry this, so I wanna give it to you." She explained when he held it. "That is the only thing my mother left me beside the Robe of the Fire Rat."

"Your mother was a human?"

The memories rushed and made her look away, remembering her sad face whenever she thought Kagome wasn't looking. "Yeah, well..."

"These must mean so much to you, then."

"Don't worry about it. The Robe of the Fire Rat is useful enough... It's all I need." She felt him grab a sleeve and looked at him. "Huh?" A part of her wanted to slice off his hand, but she held still as he rubbed his thumbs over the fabric.

If she didn't know better, she swore he looked close to crying. "I'm so sorry, Kagome... I didn't know and I should not have fired so many arrows at it..."

She chuckled and gave a huff out of defense. "Don't worry about it... By the way, what did you want to give me?"

He reached into his sleeve and paused, turning thoughtful. "Forgive me. I must've forgotten it."

"Are you serious?! I've waited and everything!" She snarled, crossing her arms and knew she was acting like a child, but she wanted to get something from this guy for some reason.

"Are you sure I can keep this gift?" He asked, meaning the compact.

Kagome blinked before giving a smirk. "Sure thing." When they got near the village, she made herself scarce and went to a tall tree to ponder what kind of gift she could've gotten before sighing and punching her head. 'Fuck. I hate that he's gotten me to expect things... I gotta stop it soon... But, I'll bide my time to earn his trust enough to get that Jewel and become a full-demon.' She chuckled slightly, a glint entering her eyes at the prospect of becoming a true demoness before she decided to rest until the next day.

Months went by and Kagome was never too far from Okitoki's side, under the pretense of being his 'bodyguard' and appearing to drop her guard to him, saying she stopped really caring about the Sacred Jewel and focused more on him. She even was not far from Souta, either, knowing Okitoki wasn't far from the kid. She found herself guarding those two more and more and curious why she was drawn to Okitoki of all people.

She even helped him slay demons in other countries and joked that it would cost him, but really just wanted to keep the man, and by extension, the Jewel, safe above all else at the moment. One day, Kagome took him on a boat to help him reach a certain island, but she got irritated at how foggy it was. "Which way is the land? Dammit."

Okitoki chuckled. "It's misty, there's no sense getting upset over it, Kagome..."

Kagome paused and flushed. "Yeah, whatever..." She blinked when an island appeared, rowing them into it, curiosity making her do it. They both kept a guard up before reaching a shore-line, where they saw six children. Blinking, she took in the fact that these kids were half-demons like her and wondered what was going on, getting off the boat. "Who the hell are you little punks?" She paused when Okitoki placed a hand on her shoulder, making her blink.

"Hold a moment..." He looked to the youngest. "Kagome, let's hear them out..."

Kagome crossed her arms a little. "Why? I don't care what they say." She turned when she heard the firebirds turn red and begin attacking. "Kids, run for it!" She ordered, getting back onto the boat, but the lantern fell in, making Okitoki gasp. "Okitoki!"

"Kagome!" He called, the call echoing now.

"Crush Wrecker Soul Sniper!" She slashed a few as she and Okitoki were on opposite sides of the boat, now floating in the middle of a cave. She leapt and went after a few while Okitoki fired at one with his arrows. Kagome spun and dug her claws into her palm, creating blood. "Daggers of Blood!" She sent mini-claws at the group of firebirds rushing at her.

Okitoki watched before he felt something grab him and wrap around him, grunting as he realized the demon was sucking his blood. "This.. demon is sucking my blood!"

"Gotcha!" Kagome called, slicing the thing away and guarding Okitoki as they heard laughing. "Who's there?"

"You half-demons are all the same... How dare you interfere?!" A voice said before slicing four marks on Kagome's back, making her drop to her knees beside Okitoki.

"Kagome!" He called, kneeling besides her. "Are you alright?"

Kagome growled and turned around, ignoring her back pain and trying to find the source. "Damn you..."

"We are the Four War Gods. Remember that. You shall become our slaves." The one that spoke earlier began fading into mist.

"Oh yeah?!" Kagome said, slicing at the afterimage, but quickly dropping again, making Okitoki hold her shoulder gently. "I let him get away... Damnit..." Feeling him next to her, she didn't look his way. "Are you alright, Okitoki?"

"Yes. We were careless... Look, Kagome, the island's disappeared!"

Kagome looked up and saw that, indeed, the island had vanished as if it weren't there to begin with. "What?"

Okitoki stood beside her before motioning her to sit. "You rest up, Kagome... I'll steer us so you can heal up."

She nodded as she was glad she had a robe that repaired itself after awhile. Her mind agreed that they were careless at that time, something that never really happened, since she and he had become a duo team lately.

Okitoki pulled back and gave that smile that tugged at her heart. "Let's head back... Shall we?"

Well, that's chapter two. It definitely is longer than I planned, but.. Beware, there is more coming in future chapters!
