I woke up to a crying two-year-old, I looked at my watch to see what time it was, it was three in the morning. I slowly sat up and got out of bed to see what the matter was. By the time I had gotten over to Coral, Jamie was awake and confused. "Coral what's wrong," I said in a soothing voice, she didn't respond, "Coral, coral." I put my hand on her forehead, she was burning. "No, no, no, no, no." I whispered.
"Hey what's the matter?" Asked Jamie.
"She has a fever," I said as I struggled to get Corals blankets off of her.
Jamie walked over to me and grabbed my wrists to try to calm me down, "Hey, its okay, its just a fever."
Tears came to my eyes, "You don't understand, a fever is what killed her father," I said as I ripped my arms out of Jamie's hands, and tried to gently pick Coral up out of her bed.
"Hey where are you going," Jamie asked as I walked out of the cabin.
"To the Apollo cabin, they'll be able to help, hopefully."
Jamie had to run to catch up to me, "Can't you just heal her?"
"That's not how it works, I can only heal wounds, not sicknesses." As I speed walked to the Apollo cabin I could hear the squawking of nearby harpies, I ignored them as I raced to get help.
We get to the Apollo cabin door, Jamie then knocked on the door and stepped back so that he was behind me. The door slowly opened to an unwelcome face, as soon as she saw Coral and the look of worry on my face, the camper opened the door wider. "What happened?" She asked.
"S-she, we woke up to her crying, a-and-" I stammered as tears ran down my cheeks, "Pl-please you have to help her."
"We'll do our best," she said as her and two others, including Will, stepped out of the cabin.
"Can I see her," Will said extending his arms, he probably wanted to me to give Coral to him, but I just hugged her small body closer to me. He just nodded at me and we started towards the infirmary. As we entered the infirmary Will gestured toward a bed and told me to set Coral down on it. I did what he said and sat down beside her in a chair that was beside the bed.
The girl who had originally opened the door said, "By the way, I'm Kayla, and this is my brother Austin, and you already know Will."
I nodded, "I know," I whispered, not taking my eyes off of Coral who had stopped crying while we were walking to the infirmary. Austin came over and placed a lukewarm cloth on Corals head.
"She needs to rest for now, we'll keep watch on her, but you two really need to get back to bed" Kayla said.
"I am not going to just leave her here!" I said standing up.
"Look you can trust us, I promise," said Will trying to push me out the door.
"Its not that, I don't want to leave her when she's in this state, please, I don't want to leave," I turned to look at Jamie with a pleading look in my eyes.
Jamie shook his head and said, "Trish he's right, we should go back to bed."
"But,"
"No buts, Coral will be fine-"
"You don't know that!" I yelled, "That's what they said about her father, and look at how that turned out! Don't you get it, I don't want to lose my sister, she's the only family I have left!" Now with streams of tears in my eyes I ran toward Coral and sat down beside her. I was not going to leave. Jamie just sighed and sat down on the floor beside me. Kayla was the one who decided to take the first shift and stay with us. After a while I drifted off to sleep. A little while later I was woken up by two strong arms picking me up and carrying me off, I was too tired to do anything so I just let them carry me back to my nice warm bed.
I woke up, again, to something leaning over top of me, more like someone. I slowly opened my eyes to be staring at Jamie who had a big grin on his face. "You have a perfect nose, ya know that?" He said. I just looked at him confused, I pushed him away and sat up. I looked down and was horrified of what I saw, I had a pink shirt on, and I did not like pink. I then looked up and saw to of the immortals.
"Hello Trish," Aphrodite said with an evil grin on her face, "as you might not know but this is cupid," she said gesturing towards the guy who was dressed in a suit, with red eyes and a bow slung over his shoulder, "This is just a little pay back for what you did to my father yesterday." And with that both of them disappeared. I looked through my backpack to find that all my shirts were a different shade of pink.
"Augh!" I yelled. I looked at Jamie who was looking at me with a disturbing smile on his face. I got up and put on my cloak and went to check on Coral.
I entered the infirmary and was greeted by Will and Nico. "Hey, how's Coral doing?" I asked them as I knelt beside Coral's bed and held her hand.
"She still seems the same as she was last night, I'm afraid." I stood up and tried to keep the tears in.
"Um, okay," I looked at them, "Uh, Nico, can I ask you for a favor?"
"Depends what it is," He said.
"Well, um, Aphrodite turned all of my shirts pink, and I'm not a fan of pink. So I was wondering if I could barrow one of your shirts." I said nervously.
"Sure, but why would she do that?" Will responded for Nico.
"Well, um, for slapping Zeus in the face I think."
"Ha ha, makes sense." Will chuckled. That's when Jamie walked into the room looking like he was smacked upside the head.
He came over to me and said, "Oh come on, you look good in pink." I just looked at him in disgust.
"What's with him?" Asked Nico trying really hard not to laugh but failing.
"Cupid." I said as Nico leading me outside with Jamie close behind, thankfully he was walking really slow, so by the time we got to the Hades cabin Jamie still had a long ways to go.
We walked inside and Nico began to look through his closet. "Here," he said as he tossed me a green shirt, "I don't like that one anyway."
"What! Why not?" I said laughing. He just gave me a death glare.
"Why did you ask me for a shirt, instead of Will or something?" He asked.
"Well, for one, I like the way you dress, and two your about my size."
"The bathroom is just right there, when you want to change," Nico said pointing to a room in the corner.
"Thanks," I said as I walked into the room, which was surprisingly really big compared to the bathroom that's in the Hera cabin. I walked out with my pink shirt in my hand. "I also asked you because it wouldn't really be as weird as if I had asked Will, because we're technically cousins," I said as we walked towards the door of the cabin just then the breakfast bell rang.
Just as we were about to walk out, Nico said, "Actually, can I have that shirt for Hazel when she visits?"
"Sure," I said, I handed the shirt to him and he threw it on which I assume is Hazel's bed. Nico opened the door to his cabin, and we were greeted by Jamie. We walked past him and started heading towards the pavilion. As we walked there, I couldn't help but notice everyone who passed us started to giggle and whisper. We got to the pavilion and even more people began to whisper, I started to get annoyed. I once again stood on a table and yelled, "What the hay are you laughing at? Do I have a problem or something," just then I saw Percy and Annabeth walk in, "My baby sister might be dying, and my best friend can't stop flirting with me, so what? What is going on?" Even I was surprised at my actions, usually I wasn't able to talk to people, and now I'm yelling at the entire camp.
One of the campers walked up to me and said, "Because you killed your own family, you freak!" I quickly flashed to that day, the memory of it made me cry. I turned to look at Percy with worry in my eyes. Run! I wanted to yell, but my words wouldn't work, but Percy seemed to get the idea. His eyes widened and he yelled, "Everyone get as far away from here as possible! Hurry!" Some started to run, but some were just confused. I started to cry as some objects around me started to float, I looked at my hand, No no no, not again! I thought.
Just then Clarisse must have gotten the idea what was happening, and yelled, "You heard what he said, run!" and with that everyone started to run for the cabins.
"Will! Get out of there!" Percy yelled towards the infirmary, "And grab your patient!"
I saw him running towards everyone with Coral in his arms. Coral I thought as all of my energy was sucked out of me and pushed outward destroying everything in its path. No, I thought as the last of my energy left me and I fell to the floor.
I was woozy but I was still able to look around. A few minutes passed until Percy and Jamie came running up to me. They helped me up and started carrying me out of the wreckage, as they carried me I was able to see just how much I had destroyed. I had destroyed the pavilion and part of the infirmary, thankfully Percy and Clarisse were able to get everyone out so no one was hurt. Percy and Jamie layed me on the grass a few feet away from the wreckage, Jamie then asked, "Are you ok?"
"I-I'm f-fine, I just need to rest, get my energy back."
"Okay, I can take you back to your cabin if you want?"
"Y-yeah."
As Jamie carried me away, I couldn't help but tear up at the sight of the destroyed pavilion. "Wait," I said.
Jamie stopped, "Hmm?" he asked.
"C-can you turn me toward the pavilion?" I said. Jamie did what I said.
"Just letting you know, after this I'm going to sleep for awhile." I focused on the destruction and lifted my hands, I pictured the fixed buildings in my head, soon after the pieces of the broken building started putting themselves back together. Some campers stared at me others stared at the pavilion and infirmary that had just been put back together. Just as I finished I fainted into a deep dark sleep.
Thanks for reading! This is by far, my longest chapter, hope you like it.
