I woke with a start. "Holy crap on a cracker," I muttered putting my head against my head.
"Are you okay?" I looked over to see Jamie's worried face looking straight at me.
"Me? I'm fine. Us, no," Jamie looked at me confused, "I just had a dream, a-and I know who's after us."
"Who," Calypso asked worryingly.
"N-Nemesis."
"Who?" Jamie asked.
"Nemesis, she's the goddess of revenge," I said.
"Oh, um, that's not good, I think," Jamie said, a little less confused.
"No, it's not," I explained.
"Well, what are we going to do?" Calypso asked.
"I, uh, I don't know. But for right now, we have to focus on our quest."
I looked out the window at the vast open sea we were now flying over. Coral would have loved this, I thought. Jamie must have seen the worry in my face because he then said, "Hey, don't worry, I'm sure the Stoll's are taking good care of her."
I knew he was trying to make me feel better, but to be honest, it wasn't really working. He didn't know how it felt to take care of someone for so long, protect them for so long, and then just abandon them.
"Hey, I miss camp too," Jamie said.
"Yeah, me too. I mean I've never spent a whole bunch of time at camp because of school and stuff, but I definitely miss Leo," Calypso said sadly.
"Hmm, I miss the Stoll's," I added.
"Hey, why do they call you sis anyway?" Calypso asked.
"Well, um, it started when I told them that they reminded me of my brother, and they just stared to call me sis I guess."
"Oh. Well, you better get some more sleep, you of all people need your energy," Calypso stated.
"I was just thinking that," I muttered. Soon after I was fast asleep once again, thankfully a non-dream-filled sleep.
I woke by being thrown around against the airplane's metal walls. "Ow," I muttered as I rubbed a sore spot on the back of my head.
"Hey, you guys okay?" I asked them.
"Uh, yeah, I think," Jamie said, obviously confused.
"Uhhh, I'm fine, a bit banged up though," Calypso responded.
"We've arrived," I heard the pilot yell.
"H-how are we here already?" I asked while still rubbing my head.
"Well, you kind of passed out for the entire night, sooo," Jamie didn't have to finish, I got what he was trying to say.
We got off that death trap, and to be honest I was glad that I had slept for basically the whole thing. Anyway, the airport that we were dropped off at was huge! We could barely find our way around. And the crowds, ugh I hate crowds.
We finally found our way out of there after half an hour of searching for an exit. "We should probably find some food, I'm starving," I said.
"Good idea, we ran out of snacks halfway through the night because your boyfriend refused to stop eating," Calypso said sounding annoyed.
"Hey! What have I told you about not calling us that," I huffed.
She just ignored me and we started walking down the street. Soon though she said, "Hey, look, over there."
She pointed straight at a restaurant that had a huge sign on it that read: Yod Abyssinia. "Sounds good to me," Jamie said as he walked up to the front of the restaurant windows.
"Does anyone have any more cash? I used all of mine for the plane tickets," Calypso asked.
"Uh, yeah. I have about five hundred bucks," I said.
"Holy Hades! How do you have that much!" Jamie asked in amazement.
"When I was living in that alleyway, I would have to make money to feed Coral and myself. Well, I never really counted how much I had until a few days ago," I explained.
"Well then," Calypso said, "Let's eat."
I was very glad to eat. I had what they called Wat, I only got it because the name was funny, but it turned out to be really good. Jamie then got something called Injera, it looked kind of like pancakes made out of sponges. Then Calypso got Shiro, which is a spiced bean puree, it looked really good and smelled good too.
After we finished eating we paid and left a tip. We then walked out of the restaurant just to be face to face with a giant, black hellhound. I didn't think much of it. I could have beaten it no problem, but it turns out he wasn't alone.
Thanks for reading! AN: I am sooo sorry, I really wanted to get this chapter out yesterday but I was having technical difficulties. And 50% of the time when I saw "technical difficulties" I mean my-brother-and-I-have-two-laptops-and-only-one-cord-because-I-keep-losing-mine-and-I'm-horrible-at-keeping-a-charge-on-anything kind of difficulty. Thanks again and we hope you guys stay safe.
