A/N: This is my own version of BOF. I'm still in the progress of coming up with how the characters will be, and how the story progresses. This is just a fun one shot I came up with for Valentines day that I may or may not use if I ever do end up publishing the story I have in mind. Anyways, enjoy. I do not own Boys Over Flowers nor the characters. This is just for my own amusement.

Ga Eul was stuck with making chocolate for the bakery shop she worked at. She hated making it. The process was tedious and tiring. But, there was no one else but her to make it.

She waited for the cacao nibs to be fermented in the oven while she zoned off. With the closed sign on the glass door, she had silence as her only companion. The whole place was dark except for a small spot of orange light where she sat behind the counter. The sound of the beans being fermented in the oven was behind her. She never enjoyed making chocolate nonetheless she enjoyed that moment of peace. She liked it that way. Her shift at the porridge store was consuming not just because she had more to do, but because Jan Di also worked there. She could use a few moments of silence after chatting with her friend nearly the whole shift.

The bell at the shop's front door rang, indicating someone was at the door. Couldn't they see the closed sign? She thought to herself as she thought of a polite way to turn down the unwanted customer. Just as she started to greet them, she looked up and saw someone unexpected.

Yi Jung, in his signature attire, dressed in a suit its brand Ga Eul could hardly tell. Sure, her family was comfortable monetary wise, and she never had to struggle like her friend. But, she couldn't even come close to how rich he was. He was wearing a smile. A mischievous one. She couldn't tell why he was here. However, he saved her the trouble of having to guess for too long.

"I was passing by, and I thought of paying you a visit." He said. Amusement clear in his eyes.

"Don't you see the closed sign? It's not polite to enter to a shop after it has clearly closed for the day." She said, mad that he ruined her moment of peace. She wouldn't have minded that much if it was Jan Di, but she wasn't in the mood to humor him.

"I did see it, but I'm not here as a customer. I just came to talk." He said, taking a chair and making himself comfortable.

"I'm not in the mood to entertain you. If you're bored go to your friends and do whatever it is you normally do. I'm busy." She said, getting annoyed.

Just as she said that the oven's bell dinged. Meaning the beans were ready to get out. Taking a towel, she opened the oven's door and took out the tray and placed it on the counter.

"What are you making?" He said. He shifted in his seat trying to get a better look.

"These are cacao beans. I'm making chocolate. Valentine's Day is coming up."

"You're making them for your boyfriend?" He said with mocking eyes.

"No. It's not for a guy. It's for the shop to sell."

"Oh, I don't get people who buy such tacky things. The whole concept of Valentine's Day is made for naïve people who believe in lies the media sells them."

"Maybe. Or buying cheap tacky chocolate is the way some people express their love."She retorted.

"That's just bullshit. If cheap chocolate on Valentine's Day is the only way they can express their love then their partners are better off finding other people." He said.

"You're being too cynical."

"I'm just stating facts."

"No, you're not. There are different forms and meanings for love. It all depends on how someone perceives it. So, Valentine's Day can be a waste of time to some or a day to express love."

"So what does love mean to you?" He said.

"I can't tell for sure since i've never been in love, but I think it's a privilege. If it comes my way, i'll embrace it, however, i can live without it." She said, waiting for the beans to cool down a bit more before grinding them.

She certainly didn't expect discussing relationships with him considering how oblivious he was to the fact that he was living in denial. She didn't have a knack for liars. Especially those who were lying to themselves more than others. He wanted her to be convinced, and she could tell how much. He might have been showing smiles and acting nonchalant, but she could tell that love was a touchy subject for him. An argument he needed to win.

"I think it's a waste of time to tie yourself to one person. Attraction can only last so long, so why put a label on things?" He said.

"As you said attraction not love."

"That's because I don't think it exists. It's what people want to believe. That's why people cheat. Once they grow tired of their partners, they seek others. It's only normal. If people could just accept that, no one would have to get hurt. And, there definitely won't be people buying cheap tacky chocolate." He said, smirking. Ga Eul let a soft chuckle, not surprised by his answer.

"People who cheat are greedy. They are people who are never satisfied with one person. They want one person for their personality another for their looks, or anything else that hasn't been in their possession, yet. Just because cheaters can't fully commit to one person doesn't mean that others can't, or that love is a scheme made up by the media to make you empty your wallet. Some truly develop love for another. However, I can't deny that some perceive love the same way you pretend you do." She said.

"I'm not pretending. That's what I believe."

"I've told you before that you are a liar, but I never said that you're a good one. People have different mechanisms to cope with pain or loss, and you use dating around as a coping mechanism. You've been trying to act nonchalant and charming your way throughout the entire conversation, but I know better than that because when I look into your eyes all I see is nothing but sadness and guilt."

He shifted in his seat. His posture turning from friendly to hostile, and she could clearly see the flicker of anger in his eyes. She knew that her words hit a spot, she couldn't bring herself to care considering he's the one that's been pestering her in the first place.

"You're desperately trying to paint me as a good guy. Why are you clinging onto your rosy fantasies, and can't accept that's what I truly am, and that's what real life is like?"

She could feel her blood boiling, and she wanted to shut him up for good. So, she decided to give him a wake up call.

"I'm not trying to paint you as anything. But, a strong denial usually means the opposite, and you've strongly been trying to disprove me. When I first met you, I suspected that you lost your loved one that's why you've been trying to fill in the void by dating around, but I saw how loyal you can be to your friends. If she were dead, you would've been mourning till now. However, now I'm sure it's just a breakup that ended on bad terms, and you still feel guilty about it to this day."

He got up from his chair. All efforts to mask his emotions now gone only revealing infuriated eyes.

"You know nothing about me." He said angrily.

"That's true, but I used to know someone like you. You've been asking me questions the whole time so let me ask you this. I'm sure my opinion means little to you since I'm only Jan Di's friend, so who have you been trying to convince the whole time? Me or you?" She said.

He could tell that she didn't expect an answer from him as she started to grind the beans as if he already left.

"You don't want my answer?" He asked.

"I don't expect the truth from liars."
