Based off of a roleplay me and a friend were doing, please enjoy!
Love is a beautiful thing. It isn't an action, it isn't an emotion, it's a feeling, a feeling of Certainty that you found your soulmate or somebody you really care about.
One day in a beach house in Siesta Key, Florida, Pastelli was cooking something in the huge kitchen, while everybody was getting ready to walk down to the surprisingly empty beach on that warm sunny day in July. Pastelli was whippin' up something sweet, presumably pancakes or french toast with bacon, smothered in syrup and powdered sugar. Her home cooking is famous in the small town of Siesta Key, and it's only gotten better when she opened her own restaurant.
Pit ran downstairs, a look of concern covering up his usual warm smile. "Is something wrong, Pit?" Pastelli asked, also a bit worried that something bad might've happened. "Me? I'm fine, but I don't think Sora is." He said, and he grabbed Pastelli's wrist and led her upstairs.
Sora was sitting in a chair near the windowsill, looking out at the beautiful blue waves, as they reflected the light from the sun, making them sparkle like stars. Pastelli walked in and placed a hand on Sora's shoulder, and he turned around to see Pastelli, worried sick.
"Are you okay? You're usually really happy and upbeat, is everything fine? Are you sick? Or are you just sad?" She said, and Sora sighed. "Everything's fine. I'm just worried about Riku. He's been in his room for the past few days…" he said, holding back tears.
"You know, you're a good friend, looking out for your buddy like that. You two have a bond like no other." Pastelli said, smiling. "Oh, and if it makes you feel better, french toast is cooling down." She said, and Sora got up and ran downstairs, cured of his blues. Pastelli smiled as he ran downstairs with Pit, Kuro (another name for Dark Pit), and Celeste. It was so great to see him getting along with people, even after everything that happened.
She knocked on Riku's door, also concerned about him, as he was her brother's best friend, after all. Nobody answered the door, but a very tired voice said, "Go away…" Indicating that he was still asleep. She sighed, and simply told him breakfast was ready, and walked back downstairs.
Everybody was already eating, and Pit was telling everybody about a story he just remembered that happened back in 5th grade, about the rumor of Celeste and Francis being in a relationship. Looking back on 5th grade and talking about how stupid they were made the group happy and remeber how easy things were, before 7'th grade (THEY'RE ALL 13).
Everybody (except Riku) came downstairs, ready for the beach. Cloud and Zack were already finished eating, Robin (female) and Reflet (male) were also finished, and Chrom, Corrin (female) and Lucina were finishing up.
After everybody was done, Sora wanted to check up on Riku one more time before they left, and of course, no answer. Sora sighed. Maybe he should just walk in without knocking, which he did.
Nobody was in the room. He walked out, and joined up with the rest of his friends.
Everybody was walking to the beach together, happier than ever, except for Sora. He hadn't seen Riku in 5 days, he was starting to get worried…until something tapped him on the shoulder.
Sora turned around…and there he stood.
Riku.
"RIKU!" Sora said, hugging his best friend, crying tears of happiness. Riku hugged him back, happy to see his friend again.
"I thought you died, Riku! You made me worried sick!" Sora shouted, and everybody else ran up to the two boys.
"Sorry to concern you all, I'll explain later." Riku said, as he let go of Sora, and walked down with everybody.
Hours go by, and everybody is packing up to leave, except for Sora and Riku. They found a small island away from shore, so they could catch up on things.
"So why were you gone?" Sora asked, still confused.
"Well…I-it's nothing, really…" Riku replied, slightly blushing.
"Hey, Riku…is everything okay?"
"Y-yeah, everything's f-fine…"
"I don't believe you."
Riku stared at Sora. His blue eyes shone like the sky on a clear day, and his cheeks were a light pink color. Gods, everything about him was just...loveable.
"Well…there is a reason…" Riku said, and Sora listened. "Look…we've been friends for…as long as I can remember…and-"
"Riku…no need to go any further…" Sora said, cutting Riku off. "I hear the things you say in your room…the walls are pretty thin, after all."
Riku gulped. Did Sora figure it out?
"You've been too nervous to confess, so you hid in your room for a week…"
Riku sighed. Sora did indeed figure it out. He was too nervous to confess his true feelings to Sora, so he stayed in his room, too embarrassed to come out.
"Riku…I-" Sora was saying, until he was cut off by a soft pair of lips on his. He wasn't shocked, nor scared, he accepted it, and gave in. Riku pulled away and smiled.
"Sora…You're the person I love more than anything in this world. So please promise me…if I swear to never leave you, will you do the same?" He asked, and Sora's face turned a bright red.
"O-of course! Forever and always!" Sora said, smiling. Just then, something washed up on the shore of the small island. It was a paopu fruit.
"Where did this come from?" Sora said, as he picked up the star-shaped fruit.
"It's a paopu fruit." Riku said, "According to legend, 'If two people share one, their destinies become intertwined. They'll remain a part of each other's lives no matter what.'"
Sora broke it in half. "Cheers?" He said, handing a piece to Riku.
Riku smiled. "Cheers." He said, as they both took a bite.
Meanwhile, Pastelli and Pit watched from afar, as Sora and Riku shared the fruit. She looked at Pit, Pit looked at her, and they high fived, knowing their mission was a success.
