Chapter 2: New Faces, New Places

I couldn't take it anymore so around five in the morning I got up. I gathered clothes and went to shower. Afterwards, I braided my hair partially showing off my undercut. I change out my black studs in my spider bite piercing for two rings. I also changed my tongue piercing to a silver barbell. I dress myself in a long sleeved black turtleneck and a pair of grey jeans. I throw a red and black flannel over top. I go back into the room and wake up Bella.

"Morning." Bella yawns.

"I'm going to head downstairs, you should shower," I reply, grabbing my grey satchel.

I walk downstairs, set my bag on the couch. I enter the kitchen and raid the cupboards and fridge for food.

"Fucking hell, does Charlie not have food in the house?" I mutter to myself.

There are eggs in the fridge and a pack of bacon. I find only an old container of basil in the back of the cupboard. I grab a skillet and the eggs. I make over easy eggs and plate them, setting them on the table. Bella comes down, sets her bag next to mine and sits at the table.

"You didn't sleep again. Doll, you should talk to Charlie about a sleep aid," Bella says.

"You better not call me Doll at school, Isa. Charlie only had eggs and bacon in the house. We'll need to talk to him about food when he gets back," I state.

Bella gets up and takes both our plates into the kitchen and rinses them off. I grab both our bags and jackets.

"I won't call you Doll if you don't call me Isa," Bella compromises.

"Deal. Do you want to drive? Also you should talk to Charlie about being moved up a grade since Renee refused," I mention.

Bella locks up the house, grabbing the keys on the way out. I climb into the passenger seat of the truck. With a loud groaning grumble the truck starts up. Bella carefully backs out of the driveway and heads out to our new school. Bella parked out front as we ran in to grab our schedules. A large red haired woman with glasses greets us.

"You must be Isabella and Dahlia Swan, here are your schedules and here is a map. Oh, you also need to have the teachers sign this and bring it back at the end of the day." She hands us three sheets of paper each.

"Thanks," I reply as we exit the building. Other students have arrived and Bella parks across from a silver Volvo.

"So we do have different schedules, damn. Yours is the junior schedule right?" I ask.

"Yeah it is, but we have the same lunch period so we can sit together," Bella responds.

We part ways each heading to a separate class. I stare down at my schedule looking for the gym.

"Where the hell is the gym?" I mutter to myself.

"You must be new right? One of the Swans? I'm headed to the gym myself so just follow me," a voice from behind me says.

I turn around to see a teenager with rich brown skin and cornrows. I raise an eyebrow and smirk.

"I'm Dahlia Swan. And you are?" I trail off following after the boy.

"Oh yeah, I'm Tyler Crowley," he responds.

The walk to the gym is filled with small chatter mostly coming from Tyler. Tyler directs me to the gym teacher who introduces himself as Coach Clapp. I go over and sit on the bleachers waiting for class to start. A tall boy with broad shoulders walks up to the bench. He's got dark hair and a cute dimpled smile. His back is turned to me and damn he is bigger than he looks.

I look through my bag for something to do. I bring out a small notebook and pencil. As the coach starts the class on volleyball, I page through my book looking for a blank page. I make a page full of protection sigils to burn for Bella and I when we get home. Gym passes by quickly. I leap down from my spot on the bleachers. The tall boy from before walks up to me.

"You're Isabella, right?" he asks.

Damn he has a nice voice, I clear my throat, "Actually I'm Dahlia, her twin sister. Nice to meet you…"

"Where are my manners? Sorry I'm Emmett Cullen. It's nice to meet you too." Emmett replies in his deep voice.

I pull out my schedule and look at my next class, Literature. That should be fun. Emmett peers down around my shoulder and smiles. His teeth show when he smiles it's charming and yet oddly menacing at the same time.

"I'm headed over that way anyway, so you can tag along." Emmett offers.

I shrug, and wave for him to go first. Fuck, he walks fast, I jog to keep up with him. He looks over to me and slows down, rubbing his neck sheepishly.

"What brought you to Forks?"

"Just needed a change of scenery, I guess."

He stops and I walk into his back, he must workout a lot because his back is as hard as a rock.

"Oops, sorry but we're here. See you later," Emmett says before he departs.

I brush a few stray hairs away from my face and walk into the classroom. I walk up to the teacher and dig out the paper she needs to sign.

She looks up and gazes about the room, "Ah you can sit back there."

She points towards the back of the room. I give her a small smile and make my way to the back. I settle down in my chair, when my field of view is obscured by a field of spiky black. The definition of a pixie manic dream girl is turned around in the chair in front of me.

"Hi, I'm Alice Cullen and this is my sister Rosalie Hale. You must be Isabella Swan. I'm so excited to meet you," She says in one big breath.

I raise an eyebrow at the blonde bombshell next to her. Rosalie could easily be a supermodel. Actually so could Alice.

"Um, no. Bella is my sister. I'm Dahlia. The confusion is understandable," I reply.

Alice looks thrown off but quickly covers it up with a smile, "Oh, well it's still nice to meet you."

I smile at her and Rosalie and begin to pay attention to the teacher. The classes pass by fast. I managed to meet another Hale, this one called Jasper. I walk down to the math classroom and look for Bella so we could hang out for lunch. She's talking to a brown haired girl whose hair made up for at least two inches of her height.

"Bella, how was class?" I ask from behind.

Bella startles, " Hey, Dahlia. Class was alright, we are still sitting together?"

"Of.."

"Excuse me, but Bella, who is this?" the girl interrupts me.

"Sorry Jessica, this is my twin Dahlia," Bella explains.

"Oh, it's nice to meet you. I didn't know you had a twin." Jessica replies.

"Well now you know, come on Bella." I steer Bella towards the cafeteria and away from Jessica.

"She seems like a fair weather friend, be careful. Also I met these charming yet weird kids today. I think you'd like them," I mention.

We grab our food and look for a place to sit Tyler and Jessica wave us over. We sit down and a wave of names are thrown at us. I'm not going to remember any of these people.

"This is Dahlia, Bella's twin." Tyler introduces me to the rest of the group.

"Who are they?" Bella asks, staring across the cafeteria.

I look up and see some of the people I met today. Jessica flips her hair and smirks knowingly.

"Those are the Cullens and Hales. The blondes are Hales and the brunettes are Cullens. The big beefy one is Emmett and the blonde next to him is Rosalie. The small one is Alice and the one who looks to be in pain is Jasper. The one with bronze colored hair is Edward. But if I were you I wouldn't even bother, he won't date anyone that isn't as pretty or prettier than him. Besides, they're all together like dating. And they live together," Jessica murmurs with the tone of a scandal.

"Dr. Cullen is like this perfect dad slash matchmaker," A girl with dark brown hair across from Jessica mentions.

"I hear it's because Mrs. Cullen can't have kids," Jessica sneers.

"Excuse me but how is it any of your business? They're all adopted for one, and secondly I think it's sweet not only for Dr and Mrs Cullen to take in all of them but also that they've managed to find love even with the difficulties they must have faced. How dare you act as if you're better than they are! At least their parents chose them, yours are stuck with you!" I respond, anger coursing through me.

I grab my tray and get up. Bella follows me. I look for an empty table when a waving hand catches my attention.

"Oi, Swan get over here," Emmett calls out.

I look at Bella and shrug, and we sit down with them. The bronze haired one, Edward tenses up, a look of disgust on his face. Jasper kicks his chair, and Edward gets up and leaves.

"Thank you! Don't mind him, he's just in a mood," Alice says.

"You heard that then," I respond, a blush coating my cheeks.

"Kind of hard not to. You were pretty loud," Rosalie teases.

"I'm not apologizing," I mention to Bella.

"I don't expect you to she was rude. Hi, I'm Bella," Bella responds and introduces herself.

"Anyone we should avoid?" I ask jokingly.

"Oh, that's easy you should avoid Newton, he's a pig," Rosalie says.

"He did stare at me a lot," Bella says.

"So what class do y'all have next?" Jasper asks.

"Biology," Bella replies.

"Ugh, math," I groan.

"I have math as well, I can show you the way to biology Bella, it's on the way," Jasper offers.

"Oh, um I, you don't have to," Bella stammers out.

"Like I said, it's on the way and no trouble at all. I just have to drop Alice off first."

"It's okay, I can go alone today, or Emmett and Rosalie can walk with me," Alice says.

"We don't want to disrupt the way you usually do things," I say.

"You're not, it's okay," Alicer reassures.

Bella and I finish our lunch and watch how graceful the Cullens are. We get up and take care of our trash meeting Jasper outside. He leads us to biology and Bella enters the classroom. I follow Jasper to Calculus. The teacher signs my paper and makes me introduce myself to the class. I sit next to Jasper and doodle in my notebook, making a few relevant notes about the subject. I have the next class Spanish, with Jasper and Emmett. I sit beside them. Edward walks in looking angry, nearly homicidal actually. He spots me and turns around whispering with the teacher. He slouches and strides toward the seat in front of Emmett. Waves of anger come off him sharply, almost turning the area around him heated. Glancing at Jasper he also has a vague homicidal look, he shakes his head as if to clear it and turns a smile at me as if to apologize for his brother's actions. I stay still, not moving much trying to not piss off Edward even more.

After class, I meet up with Bella and head to the main office. Edward is there, arguing with Ms. Cope. The air conditioner kicks on as we walk in. Edwards whirls around, half of a snarl appearing on his face. I slightly shove Bella over as he storms out of the office, so he passes by me instead. I shiver. We hand in our slips with a small smile to Ms. Cope.

We climb in the truck and head home.

"Remind me to veil tomorrow, I feel gross." I say offhandedly.

"So Edward was weird right, it wasn't just me?" Bella asks in a small voice.

"It definitely wasn't you. I think he has severe anger issues and I hope his dad has him sorted out soon," I reply.

When we get home, I light some sage and smoke cleanse once more. I hop in the shower and use my vanilla with a hint of lavender body scrub. Feeling refreshed once more I get dressed in sweats and an oversized tank top.

"Sorry about that Bells."

"I get it Lia, it's okay. There's still no food, we definitely have to talk with Charlie."

When Charlie finally shows up around seven, he finds us sitting at the table finishing up homework. He places a to-go bag from the local diner on the table.

"I ate on the way home, just picked up a couple salads for you girls," He explains.

"Thanks Dad," I say, handing out the food.

"Thank you."

I pick out the chicken in my salad, adding it to Bella's, while she picks out the onions, placing the extra in my salad.

"Oh, yeah. Dad, we can take over the grocery shopping and cooking." Bella offers.

"Yeah," I chime in. "We used to do it for Ren… mom all the time."

"You don't have to do that girls," Charlie replies.

"Well you clearly can't do it, and I'd rather not eat out all the time," I snark back at him.

Bella gives me a look, "What Lia means is, it seems like you aren't home often, but since we're also living here that we should pitch in somehow and since it hasn't been done yet, maybe we should do it instead. That and it brings back some bad memories for us."

"Sorry Dad, I just don't want to go through not having enough food again," I apologize.

"Just try not to do it again. And you can go tomorrow after school, there's a food money jar in the bottom cupboard. I'll put some extra money in it just in case there's anything extra you two need or want," Charlie states.

We go up to our room. I pull out my tarot cards and do a three card spread. All the cards are upright. First card is the Wheel of Fortune card, next is the Tower card, and finally is the True Love card. So a transition that may cause an upheaval in my life, a hard to believe revelation, and fated connections, an important decision or crossroads. Moving to Forks has definitely caused an upheaval, so what's the revelation and fated connection supposed to be?

"Doll, come to bed," Bella groans out.

I shuffle my cards one more time, cleanse them and put them away before climbing into bed with Bella.
