As Enri made her way back to her house, she couldn't help but worry about her reaction to taking someone's life, or lack thereof. " Mayhaps there's a way I could deal with the knights without killing them?" Though as she thought about it there were only more problems that came from it. " If they're so willing to attack villages and kill one of the few good people in the kingdom, could they really be trusted to not do it again?"

It was quite the disturbing thought process, so with a sigh she quietly entered her house. Heading into her room, she sees the dark elf twins are still asleep. Enri heads near the window, leaning against the wall and watching the night pass by. She soon loses herself in her thoughts, wondering what exactly she's gotten into, and how things are going to go from now on.

Getting lost did bring up some helpful info however, something in the back of her mind told her the calming force was an undead trait, along with no longer needing sleep or food. She couldn't help but frown at that however, being told you're undead isn't exactly good news. " For being undead though, I don't have that hatred for life those priests talked about, I just don't seem to care." She shook her head, of course she cared for her family and those of the village. " It's certainly a helpful ability, if they're going to kill us it's better that I'm not affected if I kill them."

Up next came the summoning, there is no doubt the Death Knight is a terrifying being, but her lack of anything towards it was something different from the calming force. " I did create it, maybe some part of me sees it as a child?" She immediately shook her head at the thought. " That's definitely not it, perhaps I see it as it is, a creation?" She looked towards the straw doll she made for her little sister, nodding at the somewhat similar feeling it gave. She wasn't sure how a massive undead warrior felt similar to a doll, but at this point she decided not to question it.

The night soon turned into day, Enri was snapped out of her thoughts as she heard people leaving their homes. A quick glance outside showed the sun peaking out from the horizon, she began to panic before being forced calm again. Her father's footsteps were almost missed through her frustrated sigh, but were heard all the same. " Okay, I at least have an hour before my sister and I are woken up for the day, plenty of time to get things figured out."

Around half an hour later, nothing was figured out, how could it? There was no feasible way to explain how one turned undead, and somehow have two children, without the whole village freaking out. " Oh the Death Knight too, what if it wanders into the village with all those people, everyone's gonna freak!" She felt more frustration at the calming force before an idea hit her. She wasn't sure where it came from, but something in the back of her mind told her the twins knew what to do.

After quickly straightening the small table and chair, she quietly woke up the two. While Mare slowly woke up with a big yawn, Aura sat up in the bed as if she had been awake for hours. "Good morning Enri, anything you need us to do today?" She asked in a slightly too loud voice, making Enri flinch a bit as she looked back towards the door.

After a couple moments of silence and confusion, Enri turned back to the two. "I don't know how to explain you guys to my parents, so do you guys have any way to head outside the village without being detected?" She asked, keeping an ear open in case she was calling upon.

"Ain't nothing to worry about, we got invisibility spells, and teleportation spells too." Aura replied, wrapping an arm around her brother who definitely didn't look like a morning person.

Enri just gave a sigh of relief. "Okay good, I also got a Death Knight capturing some scouts, I'll head out as soon as I'm able, but could you make sure it doesn't wander into the village?" As she finished asking that, she finally realized just what she was doing. " Why am I giving orders to children, especially ones involving a huge undead monster and a bunch of bad guys?" She chastised herself mentally, mainly at whatever said this was a good idea. Though the two had left before she could say anything.

" Hopefully things go well." She couldn't help but think, fixing things up in her bed before getting in to pretend she slept.

In thankfully only a few hours, Enri was able to make her way out of the village. She had been told by her mother to grab something from their house, and with no one inside, she quickly used a summoning scroll to summon a doppelganger. After informing it on what it must do, it took her form and went back to her mother with the item. After that it only took a simple invisibility spell to sneak out.

After reaching an area out of sight, Enri collapsed on the ground, already done with the day despite it not even being half over. " How did I manage to do that? It felt like my heart was going to burst out of my chest." She thought in slight surprise before a small snort of laughter at the joke. A few moments of laying later had her getting up and heading towards where she felt a slight pull.

The pull led her to where her Death Knight was, a good dozen Theocracy scouts tied up with a mix of fearful and resigned expressions. Aura and Mare were nearby, the former leaning against the Death Knight. She immediately perked up upon seeing Enri however, racing over while Mare watched over the scouts, making sure none of them shouted.

"Glad you could make it, I thought I was gonna die of boredom watching over these guys." Aura said, a beaming smile at seeing Momonga's successor again.

While happy, Enri certainly felt awkward at Aura's casualness of the situation, even if something in the back of her mind told her it was fine. She gave Aura's hair a ruffle before heading over to Mare and doing the same. As she looked up at the Death Knight, one of the captured scouts shouted.

"All this happened because of some peasant girl!?" His rough voice pointed to the older man of the group, his stronger build and numerous scars showed he usually held a more combative position. Proven as he stood up and glared at Enri, the other captives gained more hopeful expressions as it seemed he had the advantage. The man pulled out a knife and bolted towards Enri.

Aura, Mare, and even the Death Knight reacted immediately to his charge, but he was too close. Enri just barely got out of her whirlwind of emotions to watch the blade stab her in the chest. She stumbled back as the man was dragged off and held by the Death Knight. She was confused for a moment before seeing a somewhat familiar box in front of her.

" Right, I have protection from physical damage." She thought, grabbing the knife and pulling it out, feeling as if pulling it from the air, not a single thread of her dress was cut. The man along with the rest of the captives seemed to have lost all hope seeing her unharmed. Enri gave a slight frown in response, walking up and yanking the sheathe from his belt and adding it to hers.

Once the knife was sheathed, she began to question the group, her mind betraying the distraction it was. Though as she gained more and more information even that was pushed out of her mind for the moment. The attack was said to happen later today, the last village had been burned to the ground three days ago, and the Warrior Captain was hot on their tail.

She was familiar enough with the information, though with it happening today, there was no time to plan anything out. Planning wasn't exactly needed, the spells rolling around in her head held more than enough power to stop them. She just didn't want anyone to find out about this, it would draw far too much attention, not even mentioning her newly undead state.

With a mental thought the Death Knight rounded up the captives, herding them into the forest and out of sight. Aura and Mare just watched her out of curiosity and what looked like slight anticipation. ' Oh no, they're actually counting on me for this, think Enri, think!' She held a slight frown as she looked around, giving a quick glance at the village before her eyes landed on the Forest of Tob.

Her eyes widened as her mind raced faster than she thought possible. ' From what Enfi's told me, the forest is full of powerful creatures that even adamantite adventurers wouldn't go after, what if…' Her thoughts carried on as she headed towards the forest, the twins not far behind.

As she reaches the edge of the forest, she can feel the glares from the captives. She looks once more towards the village, seeing a dust cloud barely reaching over the horizon. Her mind is still racing, and her heart probably would attempt to burst out of chest if it still beat. She slips into the forest, searching her mind and inventory for whatever could help.

Fifty of the best soldiers a commander could ask for rode towards the last village, they had been informed of Gazef Stronoff closing in. The Sunlight Scripture has already reached the fields surrounding the village. Even though the scouts hadn't returned, it was only a village, the same as the last few they attacked.

Londes keeps his wits about him however, growing complacent has gotten too many good men killed. He took a glance towards the commander of the group, a pompous noble who's father was able to get him into such a high position. " Despite his sympathy towards the dark elves, the Baharuth emperor at least got something right in killing off the nobility." He silently grumbles, at least thankful for the noble's laziness since he gets to command his men.

They reach close enough to see people running around, it's obvious they've been spotted, but there's nothing that can be done. One of the soldiers gets confident, charging ahead of everyone else. Londes was about to shout at him, but only left his mouth open as a massive black blade spears out from the forest, only cutting the man in half before it imbeds into the ground. Everyone stops without much issue, but clearly it isn't safe. " A troll, or an adventurer?" Londes wondered, watching the horse gallop away in a panic, a few villagers watching from within their homes.

A moment later a tall armored knight stepped out from the forest, wielding another of that black blade. The armor was just as black with gold trimming, with a red cape flowing over the shoulder. Their calm demeanor shows them to be human, but the aura around them kept everyone on edge. "I saw smoke in the distance," The figure spoke, their voice low and commanding. They continued walking, keeping an eye towards them as they reached their sword. "I figured I'd run into who caused it eventually."

Londes grit his teeth, this guy clearly wasn't going to back down. He gave a light sigh before he started to talk, but was quickly interrupted by the commander. "I am a very powerful noble, surely there's no need to protect such… People." Belius spoke with slight distaste, though his confidence helped the other soldiers, who had all moved ahead. "It would be much better to join us in killing these villagers."

He just stood slack jawed, watching Belius to see if he was being serious. To Londes' dismay, the man held a smug grin. ' Anyone who knows anything would know the Baharuth wouldn't have nobles running around like this.' He thought in dismay, any and all subtlety was out the window with this. To be honest, he couldn't believe such stupidity, and as the knight gripped the blades even tighter, Londes knew things weren't going to turn out well.

Enri wasn't sure how this was working, when she first entered the forest she had found a ring in her inventory. She immediately knew it to be a doppelganger ring, though wasn't sure how, or why she had memories of being gifted the ring. Though seeing it to have no saved forms she began to think one up. To help with the plan she had in mind, she began to think up some forms that might be helpful. Though a few minutes later she came up with nothing. " Magic could probably help with some things, I probably don't need a full disguise, maybe just a shape?"

She looked towards Aura and Mare who were looking at her curiously, causing her to blush as she realized how bad things could've gone with the two here. With a slight clearing of her throat she speaks to them. "Could you two keep an eye on the village? I have an idea, but It might not stop everyone." The two thankfully nodded, heading out of the area, and allowing her to do this with hopefully no embarrassment.

Enri put on the ring and thought up the build of a powerful knight, which she wouldn't admit took some inspiration from Gazef Stronoff. She gasped as she suddenly grew taller, her dress thankfully still covering, though seeing a bit of thigh shows just how much taller she is. Another blush filled her face at what felt like common sense. " Of course my clothes wouldn't grow with me, let's just hope they hold."

Her lankier form began to fill out with muscle, thankfully keeping her dress intact as her toned farmer arms grew bulkier. The sleeves never stood a chance, neither did her shoes as her legs filled out as well, the dress turning into more of a skirt. She felt her clothes tighten as the rest of her bulked up, there was no doubt she had a body that could trounce Gagaran of Blue Rose. She was a bit embarrassed to admit how much tighter her chest was than the rest.

With that shame she'll never speak a word of ever dealt with, she cast Perfect Warrior and Create Greater Item to put herself in some admittedly pretty awesome armor. With one last calming breath, she headed through the forest till she was in a position to get between the knights and the village. It didn't take long for them to arrive, and with that she began her flawless plan to scare these guys off. She pulled out one of the great swords, throwing it to set up a sort of barrier.

" Why is that one guy going faster?" The question entered her mind just as the blade left her fingers, watching in horror as the guy was immediately killed. The rest of them stopped, but she couldn't if this was to work. She felt the forced calm activate multiple times as she walked towards her blade. She took a calming breath, and hoped her shakiness couldn't be heard through her altered voice. "I saw smoke in the distance," a complete lie, but a true knight is always on the lookout for danger, so surely who she's pretending to be has seen some.

She walked over, keeping an eye on the knights in case one of them could see through her lie. " Just keep calm, a true knight never makes a mistake, act like this was all intentional." She swallows nervously as she grabs her blade from the ground. "I figured I'd run into what caused it eventually." She silently sighed, it wasn't much, but it should put up a narrative that someone strong was hunting them. Hopefully that will be enough to make them leave.

She saw one of the knights with an open helm sigh as well, looking like he was about to speak, but then the other open helmed knight spoke instead. His tone immediately tipped Enri off to him being a noble, and if it wasn't for what she learned, this would've proven them not being from Baharuth. Even the villages knew of the Bloody Emperor and what he did to nobles. Not that any of it mattered, his cocky demeanor and casual dismissal of human life really pissed her off. Funnily enough the forced calm didn't go off, almost like it agreed with her. She glanced at the first knight, who seemed like he knew how bad this situation had gotten. " He seems smart, I think I'll keep him around for questioning."

Guess who's back maybe? Just went completely dead with inspiration, but here's this at least. This might get updated more or I might go back to Nine Lords… Or maybe I'll just write something new, who knows. Anyway, peace out people.
