Scaling Perilous Heights : Chapter 8
To Sylvern's pleading, Arcanine didn't say anything to anyone about their conversation. But Luxray and Floatzel, even Decidueye were looking at her searchingly like they knew there's something wrong but they don't want to force her to confess but they also wanted to pry because they knew it worried her.
Sylvern was grateful that at least Vaporeon was engaging her with some stories from his past as Eevee without mentioning anything from earlier.
Asking Basculegion again which was pleased with her flute play now, to the beach and she strode uphill to meet up with Professor Laventon for a brief report on what happened.
It was brief, very brief since Professor Laventon saw she was so deadly tired, he didn't ask much about the mission knowing it was a success. He also told her that Wyrdeer's baby has immediately hatched after the egg was laid and it was a baby girl. Mai confirms it herself when she came by and told it to Professor Laventon.
Sylvern smiled at the news. That's probably one of the best news she heard today and today- well, past two days have been very eventful.
"Ready to go home?" Professor Laventon asked with his usual smile on his face which brought another small smile from the tired child who nodded then hold his hand before they all went back to Jubilife Village.
Since Sylvern was not hurt or asleep or unconscious, this time she has to went straight to Commander Kamado's office to report. The Commander accepted her report with a nod and told her she deserved some rest and dinner from Wallflower. But Sylvern refused inwardly to eat at Wallflower alone, so she waited for Rei and Professor Laventon to join her.
"Sylvern! You're not hurt!" Rei laughed joyishly then hugged her for the mission success and coming back home with her own two feet, which seeing her track record, his concern was well-founded.
"I felt like I haven't seen you since ages." Rei grinned widely, very comfortable in teasing good-naturedly the youngest member of the Galaxy Team. Professor Laventon just watched it all with a smile, grateful that this mission went as smoothly as it is.
Sylvern tried to smile as wide as Rei for mission well done. But she knew the truth that it wasn't entirely smooth sailing. Even she knew her pokemon didn't buy it. So with a guilty heart and trying to match Rei's joyful energy, they talked away about everything else while having their dinner.
Later that night, Sylvern went to the pasture and seek out the Dusclops alone.
To her credit, it was a good call on her side for not bringing any of her pokemon when she meets the Dusclops. For even if she's brought one, she could guarantee that it would not end well for them all. For when she opened the pokeball, the Dusclops immediately tackled her to the ground and scared the wits out of her before cackling and deliver some witty insults to her and her darkness.
"That's mean.." Sylvern muttered to herself before went straight to asking, "But what is this darkness you were talking about anyway?"
Dusclops stopped almost immediately from his cackling and added to her surprise he immediately zoomed on her and whispered somewhat fearfully somewhat maliciously delight, "You don't know there's his darkness in you?"
"Whose?" Sylvern was confused.
Dusclops just hummed thoughtfully for a while that made Sylvern thought he wouldn't answer her just for the sake to spite her but at last he did,
"You are the girl that everyone rumoured fell from the sky right?" At Sylvern's nod he continued, "So this is not your timeline."
"Uh- I guess? I don't really remember though.."
"Ah, the amnesia. That's a good combination really, but devastating to everyone else other than ghost types like me." He rubbed his imaginary chin almost human-like. He then turned back on her and asked again, "Tell me child, do you know who Giratina is?"
Sylvern immediately shook her head. Even without some of her memories she knew that she never heard the name before.
Dusclops was certainly an interesting and confusing pokemon to interpret. He looks somewhat delighted at her answer but he's also looked like he was devastated at her answer. Sylvern can't comprehend how in her head that he can look like both at the same time.
Dusclops huffed, "I thought it was just my case, but you certainly got a short stick in this deep end as well." That sound.. it was certainly somewhat- somewhat different from his usual creepy voice.
Can it be?..
"Are you- Are you.." Sylvern's voice faltered her, but the Dusclops caught on her question and grinned somewhat maliciously somewhat mournfully.
"Yes, There's two- well supposed to be two separate beings in this body."
Sylvern can't say or move. She was scared, trembling, and wide eyed. She didn't expect this, she never expect this at all. The malicious part of Dusclops started to open his mouth, but suddenly a pokemon slammed to Dusclops' side pinning him down. It was Staraptor.
"Don't you dare hurt that girl or you'll be answering to us all." Staraptor threatened while Scyther fly right in front of the frozen state Sylvern, protecting her from Dusclops' gaze. Other pokemon who were also caught by Sylvern stood around them in the pasture. They have been eavesdropping them since Sylvern went in and have been taking guard stances if the Dusclops decided to hurt the girl.
Sylvern just realized that she had been hearing the Dusclops in human speech, not pokemon. Not pokemon speech that she usually hears only in her or her family's mind. The memory-
Sylvern kneeled down on the ground holding her head painfully at the jolt of memory. A Buneary hopped forward checking on the girl worriedly while Scyther hovered uncertainly. It was brief, but Sylvern remembered. She remember-
Ingo is her uncle.
And so is the Emmet guy.
Her mother Ayla.
Her father-
Luxray..
Sylvern hissed in frustration. She remembers her family and Luxray, the Luxray back home, but she still can't remember about the other pokemon around her before, or her home. Her mind still has some gaps but the ones she finally remembered.. it was enough to bring tears in her eyes.
Sylvern hiccuped. She wants her mother. She wants-
But she can't do anything about it. Her mother is not here.
But Ingo is.
Sylvern shook her head and glanced at Dusclops who was still struggling under Staraptor, "How?.."
This time, the pokemon speech took over, "It was one night. I'm malicious by nature. Not many people can approach me. Even with our nature, I was considered dangerous by my kind who didn't even dare to be close to me. I have darkness in me, a snippet from Giratina unlike the amount inside you, Child." He let that sink into the child's mind before continuing, "Then there's this man, he was malicious by heart. Never understanding what love is. Too curious. Then he heard of me. About a Dusclops who was estranged from the others. Someone who he thinks as his rival. A very deathly rivalry when he tried to kill me. But let's face it, who can kill a ghost?"
Sylvern suck it all in gulping before asking with a small voice, "What happened?.."
The Dusclops glared, "He happened. He tried to get the snippet of Giratina inside me, just for himself. But I didn't give him, so I sucked him into my hollow body. The human and I integrated into one. We have become one involuntarily, but the human gets what he wants. He got the Giratina snippet and since he's more strong willed, he took over the Dusclops body more frequently."
The Dusclops finished sadly. Sylvern immediately knew which one was talking to her seconds ago.
"You're the Dusclops then?.." the Dusclops nodded, he looked calm under Staraptor unlike before, "But how? You said the human was more strong willed-"
"He is." The Dusclops looked like he's in pain before returning back to his pokemon speech, "I won't lie to you and says I'm the good guy and the victim. I meant what I said at Deadwood Haunt. Your darkness is delicious and it's leaking out. I also want the Giratina piece inside you that you got when you fell from the sky and swallowed some of Giratina's darkness that follow you from the space void when you fell into the sea. But alas, I'll give you this warning instead : Guard it. Don't let it out. For there are others who will take advantage of it and bring devastation to this world. If you have to let it out-" Dusclops trailed off and said, "Trust your pokemon and your family. They are the only ones who can bring you back to yourself."
Dusclops seems to fight it, but alas he was taken over by the former human inside him again.
"Got your answer, Child?"
Sylvern nodded since he did give her an answer. She can't dwell on what happened between Dusclops and the man. She got the hint to leave it alone from the Dusclops itself. But she certainly has a lot to think about with her sudden memory of her family that came back, Ingo being her real uncle and family, also about this Giratina.
Who is it?
The Dusclops won't bother Sylvern again after the other pokemon threatened him more. But the Dusclops, both beings, had got their satisfaction when they saw the pure fear travel inside her body.
What is she going to do?..
In the morning, Sylvern woke up to Rei's knocking on her quarter's door. She went and get ready before she met him. Rei looked so dismay with something for whatever reason that she didn't dare to ask. Sylvern has also put all the Giratina stuff in the back of her mind. Being curious, she was just glad she can finally put a name to it and was more relaxed than the day before.
Rei told her that the Commander was asking for her so Sylvern went to see him. Inside the Commander's office, she found Adaman was there as well.
"Hello." She nodded to both the Commander and Adaman in greeting. Adaman smiled in return while the Commander nodded curtly and went straight to business, "Sylvern, you will go and help Adaman to quell on Electrode's frenzy."
Even with her major returned of memories, Sylvern still has a blank look on her face since she barely knew who or what Electrode looks like.
Adaman was about to explain which pokemon that was when suddenly someone from the stairs called out, "Adaman, why you didn't call me when you're talking about my amazing Lord Electrode? Honestly, why's everyone making such a fuss when he's still amazing as usual and-" the long purple haired young man took one look at Sylvern and immediately look away in annoyance, "Who is this?" he pointed to her face, which she took a step back from after his long pointer almost stab her eye.
"This is Sylvern, Melli." Adaman flatly said, clearly annoyed with the younger man, "And she is going to help us with Lord Electrode's frenzy."
Melli scoffed, "My Lord Electrode doesn't need any help. He is fine as he is. In fact, it was probably a blessing from the Almighty Sinnoh and you want to quell it." He scowled and glared at Sylvern as if that decision was purely hers. Although knowing she's not at fault, Melli's glare was accusative enough to make Sylvern took a step back warily.
Adaman won't let Melli threatened the girl further, "It was my decision and the Commander's, Melli. You should've just wait at Lord Electrode's place instead of coming here."
"But you will need my expertise! How you will succeed without my help?"
"I thought he said he doesn't want any help.." Sylvern muttered, confuse. The Commander just huffed and decided to break apart the two clan members before they argue further and waste time in his office, "Sylvern isn't a fourth star member of the corps yet, but if Warden Melli can take her, then we can make an exception and this will be done more quickly."
Melli scoffed, but before he said anything more, an experience, exasperated, and clearly protective voice came from behind Melli, "I will take her Commander."
Sylvern peered from behind Melli and smiled brightly at the sight of Ingo. Ingo was subtly glaring at Melli before glancing at her way and sent her a soft smile. The smile she remembered he has use for a long time back home.
Melli scowled at Ingo but didn't say anymore comments about Sylvern to the child's unconscious relief. Adaman looked relief at Ingo's appearance while the Commander could've care less about whoever bringing Sylvern to Coronet Highlands. He just wants this to be up and done with.
"I will leave her in your hands then Warden Ingo." Commander Kamado said in finality and dismissed them all. Adaman has some business with his clan so he has to take a detour to his clan settlement while Melli went straight to Coronet Highlands, leaving Sylvern and Ingo behind.
Sylvern look disheartened with how Melli spoke to her so far and Ingo noticed. He has been working with the Diamon Warden for months that his comments about him barely registered in his mind anymore. But Sylvern just met him, and with the way she looks, Melli didn't like her as well.
"Don't take what Melli said too hard Young Sylvern. He has always been like that to most of everybody else except maybe Adaman." Ingo said trying to cheer up his niece. Sylvern looked up to his silver grey eyes, "Because he's the Diamond clan leader?"
Ingo chuckled, "Pretty much."
Sylvern nodded. Now that she's alone with Ingo, Sylvern just realized that she still doesn't know what to do with her recently found memories. She didn't know if Ingo knew about her or remember that she's his niece or not. But Sylvern also afraid to ask because she's afraid of the negative answer. Ingo was one adult figure in this world that she can't bare to lose and proclaiming that he really is her biological uncle would probably startled him if he doesn't remember and push him away from her.
Sylvern didn't want that to happen.
So she choose to stay quiet about it for the time being.
Alas, the thoughts swirled continuously inside Sylvern's mind while trying to hold a conversation with Ingo as well. The combination was not pretty when Sylvern tripped when she didn't notice her surroundings and fell down hard to the ground while they already at Coronet Highlands.
At that instance, all 4 of Sylvern's pokemon went out of their ball in concern for their child while Ingo quickly carry her up to his arms when he saw the tears building up inside the child's silver grey eyes from the pain.
"Hey.. shhh.. shhh, it's alright Sylvern, you're okay.. you're okay.." Ingo rubbed the child's back soothingly while also try to tune down his heartbeat after the scare when he saw her fell down hard.
Sylvern tried to hold back her tears and sniffled when she buried her head to Ingo's neck, "It hurts.." she finally said after she won over her tears.
"Where is it hurt?" Ingo asked and when Sylvern pointed to her foot, Ingo seated her down gently on one of the rocks around and take a look at her foot.
Sylvern winced in pain when Ingo pull out her sandal shoes gently over her foot and inspect it.
"I think you sprained your ankle Sylvern." Ingo finally said after he gently touched her ankle and look at the blooming purple bruise on it, "We need to get you back to the camp and treat it.." Ingo murmured to himself before looking at his surroundings.
Which was no good. They were already far from the base camp and the only camp ahead was at Lonely Spring and it was a good miles away.
But that was their only option since returning back to the base camp will take more time since it's further down hill. Lonely Spring terrain ahead will be more forgiving for them when they pass the cave.
"I'll carry you on my back. You can't walk with that foot and it will only aggravate it more." Ingo decided. He then lifted Sylvern to his back so he carried her piggyback style while his Gliscor and Sylvern's Luxray and Decidueye stayed outside to protect both humans more closely from other dangers. Floatzel and Vaporeon reluctantly agreed to go back to their pokeballs when they were sure Sylvern is going to be fine after she get her foot treated.
Sylvern was light as well as she was small. She didn't feel that heavy for Ingo who was far more used with it after having his younger sister and then his niece. But Sylvern still felt guilty. Ingo already bend his back and look old. It's not fair that he has to carry her all the way because of her fault that she tripped.
"I'm sorry Uncle Ingo.." She really was but Ingo shook his head and assured her, "It's not your fault. Accidents happen. Although let's be more careful when scaling up rocky terrains like this, alright?"
"Alright." She echoed, "Safety first right?"
Ingo chuckled and nodded slightly, "Safety first."
".. And adventure later?"
Ingo continued to chuckle, "And adventure later."
Gliscor looked happy seeing his friend smiled more around this child while Luxray and Decidueye were amused with Sylvern's last statement.
They all walk for some good miles or so until they reached the cave.
Where Melli awaits them.
"Hmph, what happened to the little runt?" he sneered when he saw Ingo carry the child on his back, "Can't handle the terrain?"
Sylvern was about to answer with about what happened when Ingo snapped protectively, "She hurt her foot. And It will be wise for you to leash your comment to yourself Warden Melli."
Melli took a slight step back at the fierce protectiveness in the other Warden's voice and the lingering pokemon of theirs certainly helped the effect. But Melli was determined if not more, "I can express my opinion, can's I? It's not like any of you are apart of my clan. And I'm afraid the two of you will have to stop here."
Ingo inwardly bristled while in front he was still looking like his calm self, but Gliscor sensed his brewing anger and annoyance which he responded by growling to the purple haired warden. Luxray and Decidueye were not far from Gliscor's reaction.
"Her foot hurt Warden Melli. She needs some first aid at the camp up ahead, so please let us go through to our destination." Or else was spoken by the three pokemon.
"Let me think," Melli made a show on his thinking with his chin on his hand, "How about no?"
"No?"
"No. You can't go through. When the child's foot heal, she will quell on Lord Electrode's amazing gift from the Almighty Sinnoh and I can't let that happen to my Lord Electrode." He announced proudly and sneered, "So your journey will have to stop here, young member of survey corps. You can still go through though Ingo since you are my fellow Warden."
Ingo's anger and disbelief were barely containable. He can't believe Melli would be heartless enough to not help someone's hurt, let alone a hurt child. Sure he didn't like Sylvern from first sight, but this is beyond low even for him.
Gliscor and Luxray's growls were more louder and fiercer than before while Decidueye already took a battle stance. Ingo glared straight to the other warden's eyes and said with barely calm anger, "Let us through Warden Melli. Or you wouldn't like the outcome of this."
At Ingo's words, the other two pokemon took a battle stance and the whole three pokemon glared straight to Melli as well. If looks could kill, Melli would've died four times over.
Sylvern took the moment to quip her comment when she already thought about it through, "It's not like the Commander will stop sending people here if the frenzy's not quell." She softly said but heardable in the tense silence, "You will only delay the inevitable."
Melli then smirked at Sylvern, "Of course. But so far, the only one who can quell the Lords and Lady's power was only you, Survey Corp Member. And if I can stop you, I can stop it altogether."
"But he's in pain!" Sylvern protested.
"Who? Lord Electrode? I'm his warden. What made you think that you were suddenly the expert, huh?" Melli continued.
She is more expert than you if you count her ability to understand pokemon speech was what all of them thought minus Sylvern who look scared at Melli.
"Skuntank, Drapion, Golbat, lets finish them." Melli said while sending out his pokemon forward who growled back at the other three pokemon.
Ingo kept a tight hold on Sylvern while also giving out the orders of attacks. Luxray and Decidueye as usual went by instincts since Sylvern has only few knowledge about battles.
At some point of the battle, everyone knew that this is not a fair battle to begin with, so Floatzel and Vaporeon went out of their pokeballs and joined the battle. Ingo's other pokemon stay put since Ingo was far more experienced with pokemon battle, but will be ready when they were needed.
Melli was outnumbered, and added to the fact that all of the opposite pokemon were angry with him, his pokemon didn't stand a chance.
"I won't forget this. We will have a rematch. We will! And you won't get to Lord Electrode!" Melli said after his Drapion and Golbat were defeated and ran away. Skuntank was the last to run, but Floatzel's voice stop him, "Why don't you just search for another partner? Your partner is nasty."
Skuntank glared at her before answering, "I've been with Melli since he was a little boy and I will admit he is misguided on his path of belief, but he has a good heart deep within him. So don't insult my friend and I will not insult yours."
Floatzel was about to retort more but Sylvern put a stop to it by saying softly, "We won't. It's just.. It's not fair that he judged us just like that when we just met."
Skuntank looked surprised when she could understand him and softened his look at the child, "I won't say that his judgement about others were right, but everything happens after an experience. A nasty experience that I would rather he not experience more rather than be more kind to strangers. Take care Young One. You have a good heart. Don't lose it."
Skuntank then ran towards where Melli went leaving them all behind. The pokemon took a moment of breather before they continued forward. And Ingo has to sighed deeply to keep his temper in check when he noticed all the torches were removed by none other than Melli himself.
"Don't worry, I know my way around here and Gliscor will help." He soothed when he felt Sylvern trembled in fear on his back, "How about we talk softly while we walk so it won't feel to scary?"
"Okay.." Sylvern agreed then she decided to take the chance and immediately asked, "I heard from Warden Calaba that you fell from the sky as well, is that true?"
Ingo was stilled for a moment which was barely noticeable and kept walking, "I was. Although I don't remember much about everything before I came here."
"Do you still don't remember?" she asked again.
Ingo took a minute to think what he will reveal so Sylvern won't be scare away from him. He remembered Ayla and her husband, Sylvern's father. He also started to remember his brother Emmet. It would've hurt a lot more for him when he remembered them if it wasn't for Sylvern is here with him. It was selfish of him to be glad that Sylvern was stuck here with him, but Ingo fully notice and admit that he would probably won't be able to keep it together if it wasn't for Sylvern's presence and his love and responsibility for her to keep going forward. He also noticed he got most of his memories back when he was with Sylvern.
So Ingo took a deep breath and said, "I remember a few things about my family, and that I love and care for them very much."
"Then.. you won't be surprised if I say, 'Silver grey eyes are family hereditary'?" Sylvern asked warily for his reaction.
Ingo was shocked and quickly carry Sylvern in front of him instead on his back, "Are you-"
Sylvern looked away nervously, "I just remember after last night.. about Mom, Dad, Uncle Emmet, and.. you, Uncle Ingo. I don't remember much, but-" Sylvern's word was cut off when Ingo hugged her in his embrace with an Ursaring level of tightness.
Sylvern can't added any word else because her face was pressed to Ingo's tunic, but Ingo loosened his hold and looked at her with amazement and relief, "How-"
Sylvern did her best to shrug, "I don't really know, Uncle Ingo.."
"It's okay, it's okay. It's just-" Ingo took a deep breath of relief and smiled at her, "I'm just glad that you remember as well."
Sylvern nodded in the same relief when Ingo hugged her again close to his chest. Gliscor and Decidueye were shocked at the reveal while Luxray just smile in his satisfied way.
Finally, was all he can thought to himself.
They all arrived at the camp safe and sound. While the other survey corps members helped Sylvern at the camp, Ingo and his pokemon, even with Sylvern's pokemon sometimes, went out to search for the ingredients and herbs for the child. It was just the end of the day when Ingo came back to the camp and found Sylvern already making friends with a wild Gible.
The Gible and Sylvern chatted away to the other members amusement and confusement. Ingo also saw that Luxray was out and curled near Sylvern. Not too close as to not agitate the Gible, but not too far. Luxray's eyes met Ingo's gaze and he motioned very subtly to the other side where there are boulders and trees.
Turns out there's an Alpha Gabite lurking around the corner there. Ingo was almost reflexively calling out his pokemon, but Luxray stopped him with a sharp gaze and another subtle motion.
Ah.
The Alpha Gabite was looking after the Gible which probably was one of it's own pack. But since Gible seems happy to find a friend that could talk with him for hours, the Alpha Gabite just stay hidden and stand watch over him. Just like what Luxray probably do right now.
So Ingo relaxed his shoulders and greet Sylvern who was certainly very cheerful for someone who has a sprained ankle. The Gible is young, he could tell. Younger than Vaporeon who was probably the youngest of all their pokemon group which not counting Sylvern because Sylvern was hands down the youngest of them all.
It took around 3 days for Sylvern to heal her sprained ankle, and the Gible has loyally stayed with her for 3 days straight. Ingo also noticed that at the morning when Sylvern was deemed good to go, the Alpha Gabite had looked and nodded at his way before leaving and didn't come back.
The Alpha Gabite trusted Gible with Sylvern now.
Gible has asked to join Sylvern so she pulled out a pokeball and let Gible touched it with so much excitement that his pokeball roll and roll until it clicked.
Gible officially become Sylvern's fifth member of the team.
He also didn't really like to be confine in pokeball, but Ingo has asked him to stay there for now because they will have to climb very steep hills from then on, so Gible reluctantly agree.
When Sylvern saw the steep hill that Ingo mentioned, Sylvern's eyes widened so much it was almost comical.
"I don't think Wyrdeer can climb that Uncle Ingo.." Sylvern weakly pointed out, slightly trembling at the heights and cold from it.
"Don't worry, I have a ride that we can ask her help with." Ingo assured her before pulling out his flute. He play some notes with it and they waited for a while, before..
"You called?"
Sylvern jumped and almost shrieked when the sound came from behind her. She turned around and found a tall purple pokemon with long pinkish purple claws who was looking at her with a smirk.
Ingo shook his head with amusement, "Yes, I did. Sylvern, this is Sneasler, the pokemon I protect and care for as a warden. Sneasler, this is my niece, Sylvern."
"She can understand too?" was the first question Sneasler asked.
"Yes, it runs in the family." Ingo smiled. It felt good to finally able to acknowledge that even if it's just to Sneasler.
So after a brief talk about their mission, Sneasler listened to Sylvern's flute play with an amused smirk and let her into her basket.
"Um.." Sylvern looked at Ingo. Ingo smiled assuringly and said, "You can go ahead to Moonview Arena where Electrode is. Sneasler will make sure you'll get there safely. The basket only fits one person, and even though you're small, the added weight will hinder Sneasler. I will catch up with you when Sneasler come back for me, sounds good?"
Sylvern looked down nervously, but Ingo knew what she had thought and kneel down to look at her while putting his hand on her shoulder, "If you want to wait for me to handle Electrode it's also fine. There's no need to be hurry on this one. I would rather you be safe with me than handling it on your own."
Sylvern nodded and sighed in relief. Ingo then helped Sylvern into Sneasler's basket and off they go.
It was unlike anything she has ever experience so far.
The climb was high, and Sylvern can see it from the square hole for her eyes. Even though she's scared when she looked, she can feel Sneasler radiating a comforting aura and purr every now and then to assure Sylvern, and she was extremely grateful for it.
It took no time for Sneasler to climb all those cliffs and they finally arrive at Moonview Arena. Well, not exactly. Sneasler dropped Sylvern at the camp there to stretch her feet and wait for her to get Ingo up here.
Sylvern was okay with waiting, but she is still a curious child.
That means even if she wasn't extremely bored, she will go and look for everything that interests her.
And this time it was an Alpha Luxray.
It looked pretty tame, laying around under the setting sun. Unlike some other alphas Sylvern met, this one didn't have the wild red eyes. Sylvern tried to tiptoe around the bushes to look at it more closer since he's so huge. She didn't intend to capture it, but the alpha didn't know that.
So when Sylvern step out of the bushes and say an enthusiastic "Hi!" to the alpha, it jumped and took a battle stance. But then he realized that he was facing..
A tiny human child?
What is she doing here?
But Sylvern didn't register the dumbfounded look on it's face and rambled away happily that the Luxray was pretty much like her Luxray.
Her Luxray though wasn't happy with the reckless move she just pulled by then.
He came out of his pokeball, nodded at the alpha grateful that he didn't attack her, and quickly snatched Sylvern clothe's scruff in his jaws before firmly dragging her away.
"Wait, wait! Aw, Luxray- I just want to know the alpha-" Sylvern's feet dangled in the air since her Luxray was pretty big in size comparison than her. She can't help but to struggle a little, but an emitted growl from Luxray's throat made her stay still and eventually a little curled up from her position. Almost like a wayward baby Shinx being carried by an exasperated protective parent Luxray, or in this case, Papa Luxray.
Luxray carry her to a large boulder sitting near the pillars around them and sat her down on the rock. Sylvern made a move to stand up to the ground, but Luxray quickly growled in chastisement, stopping Sylvern and making her seat still.
"But Luxray-"
Luxray didn't offer words and just growled again in admonishment. Sylvern flinched and didn't dare to move from the rock she sat on. Luxray pace back and forth for a while in front of her before sitting himself and keep growling to remind Sylvern to seat still on her rock.
As if she was in time out.
And she was.
Sylvern nervously look down when she realized what Luxray is implying to while Luxray kept an eye on her while sitting a little farther from her. The Alpha Luxray watched the whole thing and can only feel amusement and pity to the child for her overprotective Luxray. But even he has to admit that if she's one of his own, he would probably do the same when she did what she did.
It was a reckless move to approach an unknown alpha like that. But it was a simply curious move that the alpha and her Luxray acknowledged. That's probably why the child wasn't in anymore trouble than that, but still, she's an interesting child.
It was well late about half an hour or so when Luxray's anger at her reckless move has shimmered down and Sylvern already felt sorry she looked down and fidget here and there on her rock.
Luxray approached the child that he has claimed as his own for a while now and glanced sharply at her, "That was very reckless Sylvern. You can't approach any alpha like that, or even any pokemon. You know how dangerous they can be."
Sylvern crossed her ankles in an act of nervousness before she answered, "I know.. it's just- I thought he will probably like you or Gible maybe.."
Luxray sighed and nudged her face to look at him, "No more acting recklessly like that. Understand? Access the situation before jumping in without a plan."
Sylvern nodded, "Yes, Luxray.."
"Come down now. You're done with your punishment."
Sylvern immediately slide down from the rock. It was probably maybe her first? Or maybe it was a long time since she has a time out like that and it was no fun. Luxray noticed her frown and nudged her shoulder to get going to the camp, where they supposed to wait for Ingo. Sylvern started walking, but can't resist to wave goodbye to the alpha Luxray who was still there,
"Bye bye!"
Alpha Luxray snorted and smiled slightly. An interesting child indeed.
Luck wasn't on Sylvern though, turns out Ingo hasn't arrived yet, but Adaman was. And he along with Melli with clearly different intentions had prepared the balm for Lord Electrode and they were hoping she could do it.
As in right away.
Adaman didn't say it, but he seems to be in a desperate side at this. Electrode was one of the dangerous of all the Lords and him being in frenzy was not small business.
Then Sylvern will have to do this without Ingo..
With trembling feet she went into the Moonview Arena.
Ingo has just arrived at Moonview Arena when he saw Sylvern came out from it with static electricity still lingering around her hair.
Ingo has an uneasy feeling about this.
"Sylvern? Are you alright?"
Sylvern coughed out a small smoke before giving him a thumbs up, "I'm good, Uncle Ingo."
Sylvern had lied, she's not good at all. For when she was obscured from everyone's view because of Electrode's ball body, Two lightnings had grazed her arms sharply, one at her right forearm, and one at her left shoulder.
It just grazed her but it burns. Good thing Sylvern was more tolerant with electricity than a normal people, or else she wouldn't stand a chance.
Sylvern had smiled it out until she went back home to Jubilife Village, and after she gave her report, she went straight to her quarters and stripped the top of her clothes gingerly.
Two burn wounds at exactly where Electrode had grazed her. It hurts.
Sylvern sniffled while trying to find some ointment in her quarters for her burns. Her pokemon suddenly went out from all of their pokeballs to help her out while Luxray licked her burns to soothe the pain and her face to washed her lingering tears.
"Thank you.." was all Sylvern managed before she fell asleep leaning on Luxray's stomach after getting the burn treated by her pokemon and already changed to her night clothes.
Yes, Sylvern has keep secrets to herself and maybe it wasn't healthy. But her pokemon will wait patiently until she's ready to tell it to them.
Because from what Staraptor told Decidueye, Sylvern was in grave danger.
A.N : Okay, before I forgot to write it again, since I've been planning to write this note for a while, Sylvern somehow always get hurt when quelling the Lords and Lady's frenzy because I based it on my gameplaying of Pokemon Legends Arceus and I... my character always like died or K.O everytime I faced the Noble Pokemon. If it wasn't for the choice that I can pick up the level energy from where I left off or K.O, I would probably leave the game (because my game playing record wasn't that much good to begin with, but the game itself is awesome). So.. considering that and Sylvern's age is 7, it made sense to that she got hurt or something went wrong when she quelled on the Noble's frenzy (because let's face it, my 15 year old protagonist in the game barely came out of there alive, I'm actually scared to think if a 7 year old tried instead).
