Betrayal all Over Again
Though Colress and Team Plasma were dead for what they did to me in 2012, I was feeling uncertain about the future. What would it hold for me? Would I ever be betrayed again? I was uneasy and weary, especially when adventuring in the Galar region 3 years ago. I took on a new outfit while traveling there. While still retaining my blue eyes and white hair (side part) and having white square eyeglasses, I was wearing a green faded sweatshirt with a white hoodie jacket, poison type track bottoms, green low socks with green casual trainer's shoes, and carrying a grass type sport travel bag. During my participation in the Galar Pokémon League, I was having some support, especially from Chairman Rose and his secretary, Oleana. After I got my second gym badge, I talked to them about Bede, the trainer Rose himself endorsed.
"Rose, I have a bad feeling about Bede." I said, "He seems like a snobbish unstable trainer that seems to have no love for Galar."
Oleana greatly understood my concern about Bede, but Rose replied "Bede reminds me of myself when I was younger. True that he's rough around the edges, but as long as he doesn't try damaging anything historical to Galar, he's fine."
As I was leaving that meeting with Rose, Oleana wanted to explain my concerns to Rose directly, but couldn't find the bravery needed to tell him.
After claiming the Fighting Badge from Bea in Stow-on-Side, I've found Bede trying to destroy an ancient mural using Chairman Rose's Copperajah.
"Stop! What are you doing?" I questioned Bede.
"I'm gathering Wishing Stars for Chairman Rose!" Bede replied.
"Do you really think Chairman Rose would approve of this?" I asked. "Destroying Galar's history?"
Rose's Copperajah realized this and walked away from Bede towards me.
"What are you doing? Get back to work this instant!" Bede commanded.
The Copperajah wouldn't listen to Bede any longer.
"See?" I pointed out. "Even the Chariman's own Pokémon knows this is wrong."
Bede, enraged, challenged me to a Pokémon battle, and I beat him easily. After I won, Rose and Oleana showed up with some League staff.
"I tried to warn you." I said to Rose.
"I'm sorry for not believing you from the start." Rose apologized to me.
"What?! You told on me to Rose!?" Bede shouted.
"You left me no choice you Battle Carnival reject." I explained.
"Battle Carnival reject!?" Bede yelled in rage.
"That's actually suiting due to how you've been acting." Oleana added.
Furious, Bede tried to rush at me, but the League staff grabbed him before he could try to attack me. As Bede was taken away, the mural collapses, revealing some hidden history of Galar. At that time, I trusted Rose. However, when waiting a long time for a visit from Champion Leon at Wyndon's hotel, who I suspected that something was up. I had some help from Gym Leader Piers and Team Yell getting to the bottom of this while I battled some bad League staff, especially when making my way up Rose Tower alongside Hop. Upon reaching the top, Oleana was standing in my way. I battled her and won. Feeling suspicious and enraged, I began to approach Rose who was talking to Leon. Oleana tried to stop me but feeling rage inside, I punched in the face hard and grabbed he by the throat.
"What are you doing?" Hop asked me in surprise, seeing my vengeful side for the first time.
"Getting answers!" I replied as I dragged Oleana with me.
Upon approaching Rose and Leon, I threw Oleana to the ground at Rose's feet, interrupting his conversation with Leon.
"You've got some explaining to do!" I demanded in rage.
"What're you doing?" Leon asked me in surprise.
"Oleana and some bad League staff got in my way while I went looking for you!" I explained before turning my attention to Rose himself. "Did YOU have anything to do with this?"
Rose said "Look, when older adults have a conversation, they–"
"No excuses!" I cut off as I began to approach Rose, but Leon tries holding me back.
"Calm down! I'm sorry for taking so long!" Leon apologizes.
"Is that so?" I asked.
After returning to the hotel, Leon and Hop had a conversation about my vengeful attitude but I refused to tell them the truth behind it. The next day, the day of my champion match with Leon, it gets interrupted by Rose himself who reveals that he unleashed Eternatus and brought forth the Darkest Day, making me feel very furious. I wanted to confront Rose directly, but Hop suggested going to the Slumbering Weald to find the legendary Pokémon, Zacian and Zamazenta. Upon arrival, we found a rusted sword and a rusted shield. I took the sword while Hop took the Shield. I then headed to Hammerlocke Stadium and took the elevator down to the energy plant where Rose released Eternatus.
"Rose! I'll make you pay for doing this!" I said with such rage in me.
I took him on in a Pokémon battle and defeated him. Though he applauded after I won, I pulled out the Rusted Sword and approached him with killing intent.
Afraid, Rose said "Now let's be calm about this."
"About what!?" I shouted. "That you betrayed me and thought you could get away with it!?"
"L-Look," Rose started.
"I trusted you and you betrayed me!"
"I was just concerned about…"
"TRAITOR!" I yelled at the top of my lungs before running Rose through with the Rusted Sword, right into the right shoulder.
Rose screamed in such pain that he fell to the ground, traumatized. Pulling the sword's blade out, I prepared to give the killing blow, but Waterlog, my Intenleon, came out of his Poké Ball and tries pulling me back.
"Don't get in my way, Waterlog!" I said, "Rose has to pay!"
"Do you think Jaller would approve of what you're doing?" Waterlog asked.
Though he spoke in Pokémon language, I could somehow understand him. Upon hearing this, I eventually calmed down and put the rusted sword away. When Hop arrived, he was shock, seeing what I did to Rose.
"What've you done?" Hope said in surprise.
"I made Rose pay for betraying me!" I answered.
"Betrayal?" Hop asked. "Is that why you have such a dark attitude?"
"Death to all traitors!" I swore.
"Look, I don't know how you were betrayed before, but that doesn't excuse trying to kill Rose!" Hop tried to explain.
"Doesn't matter! All who betray me deserve to suffer!" I yelled.
Hop was shocked to hear that.
"L-Look, I get you're angry, but…"
"Enough!" I cut off. "All that remains is to stop Eternatus!"
As I headed to the tower's summit to face Eternatus, Hop became very worried about my true darker side that I developed ever since I was betrayed nearly a decade ago. The darkness in my heart was reignited with rage no thanks to Rose. I have absolute ZERO tolerance for betrayal, for when it happens, I feel the urge to make those said traitors pay for what they've done. My heart's been at the mercy of betrayers. Never again!
