I rushed into the doors of the cafe as Damian was pulled along. I walked up to the girl at the front counter.

"Excuse me," I politely said, "but does a girl by the name Sara still work here?"

The girl looked up at me. "Uh, not that I know of, no," she exclaimed with a happy tone, "May I ask why?"

"Oh I'm just a friend of hers, does her father still run this place?"

"Oh, you mean the manager's daughter, Sara? He still runs the store, but sadly he isn't here today."

"Oh, well, uh, do you know what happened to Sara?" I asked.

"She went back to school a few years ago, that's all I know."

"Oh, okay," I said as I sadly led Damian back out the double glass doors.

"Who's Sara?" Damian asked as we were walking down the sidewalk.

"She was always the girl on duty when I went in for my morning muffin. We would talk ever so often, I was kind of fond of her."

"Ha ha, you said duty," this made Damian crack up.

"Really," I said, "you just had to go there."

"Yes. Yes I did," he said smiling.

"Dork," I whispered.

"What did you say?" Damian asked.

"Nothing," I smiled.

"Tell me."

"No."

"Come one, you know you want to," Damian pried.

"Nope."

"Oh come on just tell me," Damian whined.

"Fine, if you really need to know…I called you a dork." I smirked. The expression on his face made me collapse into a heap of laughter. I was so loud that people started to stare.

Once I was able to calm down a bit, we continued walking down the street, block after block, I didn't recognize any of it but it didn't need to when I was too busy talking and laughing with Damian to pay attention to what was going on around us. The only time my smile had faded was when we walked in front of a familiar clock shop.

"Hey why did you stop?" Damian asked, as I looked through the huge window.

"So you know that alarm clock that sits on Jamie's old side table in my cabin?" I asked.

"Yeah?"

"Well I got it here. His old one had gotten smashed so I got him a new one."

"It got smashed?" He asked.

"I threw it out the window… then stomped on it."

"Why?"

"Hey! He said I wouldn't, so of course I had too."

"I mean you didn't, but sure."

"That makes no sense."

"To me it did."

"Anyways," I said, changing the subject, "where are we going?"

Damian just shrugged his shoulders.

"Well do you know where we are?"

Another shrug.

"Do you at least know where the van is?"

This time I got a shake of the head.

"So we're lost?" I asked.

"Yes?" Damian responded.

I grabbed his wrist. "You're lucky I can float us up in the air. We can find the van from up there."

I floated us up so that we were just above the buildings. "Do you see it?" I asked.

"No."

I floated us along right above the road, trying to retrace our steps.

"Try over this way," Damian suggested.

I floated us in the way he pointed. Surprisingly he was correct because soon enough I spotted the roof of the white camp van. I slowly and carefully lowered us down to the ground.

"See that wasn't so hard," Damian teased.

"You still managed to get us lost though," I reminded him.

"You're the one who got us lost!"

"I wasn't even paying attention to where we were going! I was just following you!"

"Well I wasn't paying attention either."

"Fine, it was nobody's fault, now will you just get in the van."

I watched as Damian went to get into the passenger's side.

"Hey, what are you doing? I can't drive."

"Why not? You're what? Twenty-one?"

"Yeah, but if you forgot I was stuck in ice since I was fifteen, I never learned how."

"Then I'll teach you," Damian smiled.

"Not in a city like this," I insisted.

"Fine, I'll drive us out of the city, then I'll teach you."

"Fine."

"Good."

"Okay, now get out of my seat," I said sticking my tongue out. He just returned the gesture.

As soon as Damian closed the drivers side door, we were off.
