Disclaimer:
I do not own the PJO characters. AN: sorry for not posting these past two days, I had a few library books due back that I hadn't started yet so I've been working on getting those finished and read. Anyway to make up for it I'm going to try and make this chapter a bit longer, in order to make it this long, I had to start typing a lot earlier than I usually do so don't expect me to make all my chapters this long from now on.
I shook as I said his name. Tartarus. He wanted me. He was killing hundreds just to get to me. But why? A thousand thoughts ran through my head at once. "I heard his voice, Damian, I heard his voice." I cried.
"It's going to be okay," he said as he hugged me tighter. "Are you sure it was him?"
"Y-Yes, in the dream, there was a dark pit that seemed like it went down forever. A voice came out of it, the same voice that caused me to go mad on the battlefield. It's him, I know it." I paused for a brief moment taking in what had just happened. "I need to wake Percy and Annabeth," I said.
"Why don't we wait until tomorrow," Damian said, "try going back to sleep."
"There is no way I'm going back to sleep as long as I know he's in my head," I said. I got out of Damian's grip, he didn't fight me about it, he just quietly followed behind me as I walked towards Percy and Annabeth's bedroom.
I knocked softly on their door a few times. When I heard nothing, I knocked a little louder, this got their attention. I could hear rustling from inside, then the door opened and two tired figures stood in the doorway and stared at us.
"What are you doing up and what time is it?" Annabeth asked.
"It's one o'clock in the morning," Damian answered.
"Sorry for waking you guys up, but I need to talk to you," I said.
"Can't this wait until morning?" Annabeth said tiredly.
"No."
Percy and Annabeth gave each other concerned looks. They finally stepped out of their room and we walked down to the dinning room where we all sat around the table.
We sat there quietly for a moment then Annabeth said, "it looks like you've been crying."
"Yes, I, uh, have."
Percy looked like he was going to pass out right then and there, he was struggling to keep his head up and drool was running down his chin.
"So why are we here?" Annabeth finally asked.
"I had a dream," I said, "I know who's after me."
"Who?" Annabeth said, sounding a little annoyed.
"Tartarus."
This got their attention. Percy sat straight up, eyes wide, and Annabeth couldn't seem to form words. "H-How? What? Why?" Percy seemed to stutter.
"He means how do you know?" Annabeth said.
"In my dream, I was in a dark cave with a giant pit that seemed like it went down forever. He spoke to me from the pit, he said he wanted me or something. I don't know, I was too shocked when I woke up."
"Oh and your guest room got rearranged," Damian said.
Percy tilted his head like a little puppy.
"When I woke up, everything around me was floating, including Damian. I don't think anything was damaged though, just everything's out of place."
"We can fix that later," Annabeth told me, "tell me more about the dream."
"That was basically it, I was only in the dream a few seconds before Damian woke me up by throwing a few pillows at me," I said.
"But still, are you positive it was him," Percy said.
"Absolutely. This wasn't the first time he spoke to me and I freaked out."
"What?!" Annabeth whisper-yelled, "Why didn't you tell us?"
I shrugged my shoulders. "It was one of my first days back at camp, we were attacked and I went up to the monsters and asked what they wanted. A cyclops answered that it was what he wanted, we didn't know who he was at the time. Anyway after the cyclops spoke, a voice shouted in my head and I went completely mad. I started to cry and scream but had no control over what I was doing. Damian picked me up and carried me off to the infirmary, when they tried to take me from him I latched on and wouldn't let him go. He ended up taking me back to my cabin where I finally calmed down and blacked out."
"Do you know what he wants?" Percy asked.
"No, but whatever it is, I won't do it. I wouldn't do anything for the Olympians, let alone that guy."
I want you to kill the gods," someone whispered.
"What?" I asked.
"Trish?" Damian said.
"I WANT YOU TO KILL THE GODS!" The voice boomed. It was so loud, it sounded like a canon had gone off beside my head. My ears started to ring and I put my hand over my ears.
"Stop!" I yelled, "LEAVE ME ALONE! I won't do what you want! I NEVER WILL!"
I collapsed on the dining room floor and clutched my ears. My screaming must have woken everyone up because a few minutes later everyone was in the dining room, including Leo and Calypso. My mini me was crying and yelling something out to me. I still couldn't hear anything except for the ringing in my ear.
I kneeled on the floor with my head pressed up against the cold floor from all the pain and the ringing in my ears.
Leo walked over to me and grabbed a handful of my hair and yanked my head up. "What are you doing!" I could hear Damian yell, yet it only sounded like a whisper.
"This is what you get, ice queen." He laughed then pushed my head down, causing my head to slam into the floor with a thud.
My head now rippled with pain, something dawned on me. This is not the Leo I know. The Leo I know made me my sword with a smile on his face, he was so kind to me when I came to camp, he was one of the few people who wanted me to stay at camp. This was not Leo.
I jumped up and tackled this fake Leo to the ground. "Get out of his head!" I yelled, "get out now!"
"Woah, woah, woah, I'm still in your friend's body, you won't want to injure him do you?" The fake Leo smiles. I could hear him a little better but it was still very muffled.
I growled deeply, deeper than usual. I took my hand, which started to glow with a black aura, and pressed it hard up against Leo's head. Then I took my other hand which glowed with a yellow aura, and also pressed it up against my friend's head. What I was initially doing was destroying and healing Leo's head at the same time. It was painful for Leo's body but it was going to force whatever was in Leo's head, out, without killing him.
"What are you doing to him!" Calypso yelled, she went to run at me but Damian tightly wrapped his arms around her.
"She's trying to help him," Damian said.
"No, she's hurting him!" Calypso yelled.
Leo started to scream from all the pain and pressure I was putting on his head. He started to punch me as well but I held on tight. Once Leo finally blacked out, I let go. I rolled off the side, out of breath from using so much of my curse at once.
Damian let Calypso go and she ran to Leo, she placed his head in her lap then looked at me, tears in her eyes. "What did you do to him?" She whispered.
"You don't want to know," I said, I slowly sat up but got dizzy and had to close my eyes for a moment to make everything stop spinning. Just in case I placed my hand gently back on Leo's forehead and began to heal him more. "He'll be fine," I told Calypso, "just when he gets up he's going to feel like he had the snot beat out of him. Make him rest and make sure he doesn't do anything stupid. I got that… thing, out of him for now but I don't know if it will return." I slowly And carfully stood up and began walking out of the dining room. Once at the door, I turn my head to the side and placed it up against the door jam to get my balance. "Oh and tomorrow I'm going to have a word with the Immortals."
I slowly hobbled down the hall way and to where the guest room was located. I sat on the bed, staring out a window at the city. A few moments later Damian stepped into the room and sat next to me on the bed. He put his arm around me and I placed my head on his shoulders.
"He wants me to kill them," I whispered. "He wants me to kill the Immortals." Damian said nothing but planted a light kiss on my head. "As much as I hate them," I whispered, "I would never harm them. When I first battled monsters, when Hera was bringing me to New York, I didn't want to. I didn't want to kill them, the only thing that made me was that I knew that they would eventually come back, I wouldn't. I don't want to fight anymore. I want it to be over."
"I don't know when it will be over, or if it ever will, but I know one thing, I will never let Tartarus get to you," Damian said.
I took a deep breath. "The dream about Tartarus wasn't the only dream I had," I said, "my mother also sent one to me."
"What did she say?"
"Not much. She said that…" I paused, I didn't know if Damian wanted to hear about his mother. Or that he was going to betray me.
"Trish? What?"
"It's about your mother, Hera said that I can help her," I couldn't look Damian in the eyes, I went to say something about the whole betrayal thing, but I couldn't bring myself to it so I kept my mouth shut.
"Help her how?" Damian asked.
"I don't know, she didn't say."
"Are you okay?" He asked.
"Hm?" I looked up at him and met his eyes but automatically looked away.
"There's something else is there?"
"No."
"Your lieing to me."
"No I'm not."
"Yes you are."
"No I am not."
"What else did she say?" He demanded.
I didn't want to argue with him anymore, so I grabbed his face and kissed him. A single tear fell down my cheek, I backed away and wiped it off my face. I got up and repostitioned myself so that I was kneeling on the bed. "I don't want to loose you too," I whispered, "I already lost Jamie, I'm not going to let you go."
"Trish. Please, what did she tell you?"
"S-She said that you were g-going to betray me," I stuttered, "she said that you won't do it on purpose because you love me too much, but she says it's going to happen either way."
"I'm supposed to betray you?"
I nodded.
"I-I can't, I won't."
"Hey," I said as I placed my hand on his face, "I don't care if you betray me as long as you don't leave me."
"I could never leave you. But what if I hurt you?"
"You can't hurt me, I know you can't."
We stared at each other for a moment then hugged me. It startled me at first but soon my muscles relaxed. "I don't know what I would do without you," Damian said. "We should probably go to bed, if you're going up to Olympus again, you're going to need your rest."
"I can't go to sleep," I said.
Damian didn't question why, instead he said, "come here."
He sat on the bed so that his back was up against the headboard of the bed. I crawled up further on the bed and sat across Damian's lap. He just held me, he didn't ask any questions, he said nothing about his mother, and he definitely didn't say anything about the betrayal. And that's how we sat for the rest of the morning.
At about six o'clock, we decided to get up. I was going to keep my promise of making breakfast so I set off straight for the kitchen. I didn't know where anything was but I did my best. Damian even came to help. We made pancakes, bacon, eggs, and cut a bunch of fruit. Damian made the coffee and I poured orange juice into a pitcher. We set everything on the counter like a buffet line then backed away to admire our work.
"Nice," I said as I high-fived Damian. "Hey I want to leave before anyone wakes up, which might be soon."
"Why? Don't you want to eat?"
"I don't feel like eating," I said, "we'll leave a note or something." I looked around for a pen and paper but then I found something better. A white board and marker sticking to the fridge. I took the marker and wrote: Went to Olympus, be back later.
"You think that's good?" I asked.
"I'm sure it'll be fine. There's only one problem though."
"What?"
"How do we get there?"
"Oh, uh, I haven't thought about that part yet," this made me laugh. I thought about it then, "light bulb!" I said.
"What?" Damian laughed.
"I have an idea," I said as I rolled my eyes.
"What?"
"We need Hazel," I said.
It took a good while, but eventually we were able to track Hazel down. "I have stuff to do Trish," she said, "whatever you need I'm sure someone else would be glad to do it."
"Not this," I said, "we need Arion and you are the only one who can ride him."
Hazel turned to us. "For what?"
"We need to get to Olympus ASAP and Arion is the fastest way to get there."
"Okay, just let me go let Frank know." Then she was off.
Soon enough though, she was speeding up to us on Arion. They came to a stop right in front of us. "Hop on, but be careful and hold on."
"How long will it take to get there?" I asked as I lifted myself up on the horse.
"If it was just two of us, half an hour, but since there are three, then maybe an hour."
When Arion finally took off, I was startled but managed to hold on.
While we traveled, even though it was really hard to talk with all the wind. I explained why we needed to get to Olympus.
The hour passed by in a blur, literally a blur. And soon we were staring at the Empire State Buildings entrance.
Thanks for reading! We hope you like the extended chapter, it's probably a lot better than the short ones we've been posting lately. Stay safe!
