I stared at the Immortal of forges as he searched for a response.
"She was a tricky woman," he started, "she believed what she believed and wouldn't let anyone tell her otherwise. When I first told her that I was a god, she didn't believe me. That's one reason why she hated her own son so much, she didn't want to believe in the gods. It didn't help that she was cursed by an oracle, it only made her hate us more." Then he paused for a moment, "why do you want to know this?"
"Because, I'm going to help her." I went to turn away but Hephaestus stopped me.
"Be careful with her, she is a trickster."
I walked back over to Damian. "Can we leave now," I said.
He just laughed. "It was your idea to come up here in the first place."
We hurried out of the palace before any of the Immortals could pull us aside. We decided to take the elevator down this time, despite how it would be sooo much faster just to jump. I mean I would catch us before we went splat on the pavement below, but Damian shuddered and said no. Party pooper.
When we got off, I walked past the front desk and waved to the guy who wouldn't let us up before. He had to do a double take when he saw us. Doofus didn't know what hit him. Finally we got out of the building and saw Hazel outside waiting patiently while feeding Arion a hunk of gold that she must have pulled from the ground.
"Hey," I said as I walked up to her.
"Oh, hey, your back. You're not blown to pieces so I suspect it went well?"
"I think the gods are too afraid of Trish to even try and blow her to pieces," Damian added.
"It went eh," I said, "the Immortals and I came to an agreement, I won't try and murder them and I will be their ally."
"But what do you get out of it?" Hazel asked.
"I get to live, I guess."
"Well," Hazel said, "I was thinking, since it was still so early in the day, if you want to go over and visit Camp half blood. I haven't been there in ages and I would love to see Nico again."
"Sure," I said.
"May I join you as well?" A voice asked from above us. We all looked up and saw Apollo, looking down at us.
Thanks for reading! AN: like last week, I might not be able to post every day like usual because it is the first week of school for me and it's going to be a crazy next couple of days. I'll still try my best though to post as often as I can. Stay safe!
