I do not own the PJO characters. AN: sorry I haven't posted for a few days, the plumbing at my house went bad so I was stuck at my grandparents house for awhile.
After the Stoll's, Damian and I finished working out all the details, we headed over to the infirmary to see how Nico and Will were doing.
When we got there I was surprised, and happy, but what I saw. The infirmary was almost completely empty. I had never seen the infirmary so… still and quiet before. "Hey!" I said as I walked over to Hazel, Nico, Apollo and Will who were standing in the corner talking.
"Hey there's my favorite Mortal," Apollo beamed.
"I doubt that, but sure," I said, "what are you guys talking about anyway?"
"Nothing important," Will said.
I was about to say something but then I realized something. "Aww! Damian," I whined, "my green T-shirt, it was in the train car!"
"What happened in the train car?" Will asked.
"We were attacked by Venti, we had to leave almost everything," I explained.
"Well there are plenty of other green shirts where that came from," Nico grumbled. I noticed that Nico was a bit different. He still had his normal black outfit on, but instead of his hair draped over his shoulders, it was tied back in a cute little man bun. He looked adorable. He would kill me if he found out I thought he was adorable though.
"Hey you look good in green," Will stated as if it was obvious.
"So what, I don't like green," Nico grumbled again.
"Well I'll be more than welcome to take some of those green shirts off your hands," I smiled.
"Fine, come on, we'll go to my cabin," Nico said as he grabbed my hood and pulled me along. Damian rushed after us.
We walked up on the Hades cabin deck and I looked back across the lawn expecting to see a drugged Jamie hobbling across the grass. My head hung low as I turned and walked through the cabin's door.
Once inside I was amazed by what I saw. It looked like someone actually lived there. All of the bunk beds were gone and there was a big black bed up against one wall. Chairs by the fireplace and not a single cobweb in sight. Being the cabin of Hades, it was surprisingly cozy.
"Don't be amazed," Nico said as if he could read my mind, "it only looks like this because Will decided to "redecorate", I thought it looked fine before." Nico did air quotes around redecorate.
"Well tell Will it looks nice."
I stood awkwardly in the middle of the room as Nico ruffled through his and Will's closet. "Here," he finally said.
He pulled out a large cardboard box and set it on the bed. I walked over to it and saw that it was filled with old or unwanted clothes.
"Pick anything you want," Nico said as he flopped on the bed with a thud.
"Thanks." As I was searching through the box of clothes, one of the shirts caught my eye.
"Where did you get this?" I asked.
"Oh that thing. Uh, Will found it in the lost and found, and gave it to me. I didn't like it so I never wore it. Why?"
It felt like my heart was going to fly right out of my chest, I began to choke up as I held the shirt in my hand. "T-this is Jamie's shirt," I muttered.
Nico sat up as his eyes widened, I felt Damian start to get uncomfortable.
I slowly lowered myself to the floor as I hugged the T-shirt in my arms. "I haven't even mourned for him yet, what is wrong with me!" I cried. "He loved this shirt. W-when we went to school together, he was constantly wearing it. He always joked that he wanted to be buried in it when he died. Well now he's dead and there's no body to put it on."
And that's how I stayed, curled up in the middle of the Hades cabin, bawling into my dead friend's shirt.
Thanks for reading! Hopefully we can get back to posting almost everyday but don't be surprised when we miss a day. Stay safe!
