Chapter 02: Blind Date with a Twist Ending

After many twists and turns in bed, Naruto was unable to bring himself to fall asleep. The many thoughts that were circulating in his head were causing him a slight headache. He did not sign up to meet some random person during his first couple days back, scratch that. He did not sign up to go on a date with a random person at all. He just found it hard to say no to his father. The man that brought him up despite all the while dealing with an assortment of unresolved issues that still plagued him to this day. Naruto didn't wish to ever have a relationship so agonizing it'd ruin him, and he learned that by watching his father go through it.

With a sigh, a certain thought crept up on him. Maybe he shouldn't go into this with such a pessimistic attitude. If he could hit it off with this woman, then he'd be willing to see where it might go, and if it turned out otherwise he'd just toss it to the back of his thoughts and continue on living with no regrets. With a firm grasp to this so called solution, Naruto drifted off into a restless slumber.

"I'm good dad. Seriously," Naruto reassured Iruka for the sixth time tonight as he watched his father fussing around with the already tied tie on his neck. At this point, he might not even make it to this date because he'd die of suffocation in the hands of the man who made this all happen. This tuxedo wasn't even his idea, but Iruka wouldn't let up no matter what.

The memories from an hour earlier came flooding back followed by an aching headache.

"This is a formal date," Iruka said seriously with an aghast expression when Naruto came down in a form fitting black V- neck, a brown leather jacket and ripped jeans. He came striding towards Naruto with a glint in his eye, catching him by his jacket and dragging him back into his room. Iruka tossed him to his bed and Naruto plopped down with a shout. "Wait for me," Iruka stated sternly before walking out of Naruto's room.

The blond man let out a sigh and continued sitting where he was, not making the slightest movement out of laziness. Let Iruka stress out- this was all his idea anyways.

Iruka came back into the room not two minutes later with a tuxedo in his hands. Naruto glanced between the clothes and his dad with an 'are you serious' look.

Iruka stared right back at him with those enlarged puppy eyes, "Baby, do this for dad. You know all I want is the best for you, right?" Iruka pled with a pout. A manipulator at his finest is what Naruto thought, before nonetheless agreeing.

"How'd you even know my size?"

"I'm your parent, idiot. Why wouldn't I know everything about you?"

"Fair enough," Naruto replied, grabbing the hanger from his father's hands and ushering him out of the room.

Back to the present. Naruto stared at his dad for a while, watching the soft smile light up his entire face, making the scar look less frightening than when he first ever saw it. This poor man went through so much, and if going on this date would make him happy, Naruto would more than oblige. Even though he kept on complaining, Iruka's happiness was a priority for him and he would therefore uphold it no matter what. Getting all up in his feelings, the blond man couldn't help but want to embrace his small father, and he did just that. Naruto gave him a bear hug which caused Iruka to gasp in surprise at the abruptness of it all. He slowly came back to his senses, and with a chuckle wound his arms around his warm giant blond teddy bear.

"I love you," the short brunette muttered. "Proud to call you my son." Iruka's eyes reddened, and he tried his hardest to keep those tears at bay. This is an exciting occasion, he thought to himself in encouragement. Iruka wouldn't wish to dampen the mood by crying, even though he would be shedding it joyously.

"I know, dad. Love you more," Naruto responded while letting him go. "I'm going to head out now. Don't forget to send me her picture and the name of the restaurant."

"Okay, son. Dad wants you to put yourself out there and have fun. If it's written for the both of you then it's written, and if it doesn't work out, then there are a billion people in the world ready to fall into your lap. So don't worry," Iruka looked flustered and nervous as he gave out this advice. His palms were beginning to perspire, and even though he wanted to pat Naruto in encouragement, he didn't want to dirty the suit.

Iruka watched as his beloved son walked out the door and speed off in his car. Hope blossomed in his heart that with this date, his son would find true love and be able to settle down and create a normal happy life- more than he or Naruto ever had.

Naruto exited out his car seemingly in a rush to get this done and over with. If she were the one he was fated to be with, then so be it. If not, he'd rather end this night on a quick note and head back to Suna the moment he was done with this particular job that roped him into coming to this forsaken place. He handed his keys to the guy standing at the valet station. He walked over to the host stand, "Reservation for Umino," he stated, opening his messages to finally catch a glimpse at the picture of his date. The pink haired woman looked quite familiar to him, but he couldn't place exactly where he recognized her from. He'd already forgotten her name, but he couldn't help the nagging feeling that he might actually know this woman. "Oh, and is my date here?" He inquired, following the hostess through corridors of private rooms.

"Yes, sir," she answered, keeping her gait steady despite wanting to sashay in front of the sexy Alpha behind her. She cursed her luck and wondered just why she wasn't rich enough-scratch that, good enough to have family or friends that could set her up on dates with such an Alpha. She stopped in front of a room and opened the sliding door for him and bowed, waiting for him to enter.

Naruto took a few steps into the room, and glanced at his date who sat at the table who seemed preoccupied on her phone. Sakura glanced up from her phone and Naruto watched as her mouth fell open. He looked away, not fully analyzing herself in order to figure out what the nagging feeling was as he pulled out his chair and sat down, all the while introducing himself. "My name is Naruto Uzumaki, although I presume you knew beforehand granted that you've agreed on this date."

Sakura couldn't help but be shocked at who turned out to be her date. This was the Naruto she was going out on a blind date with? Naruto Uzumaki? Those lined scars on his cheeks that she could never forget, those piercing cerulean eyes of the shrimpy runt of her childhood that she used to bully. How could she ever forget him? And she couldn't believe how good looking he turned out to be, and an Alpha at that. Wasn't he an Undesirable? But instead of revealing that she was more than familiar with him, she chose to play ignorant. "Sorry, but my family did not inform me of who I'd be attending this blind date with. They kind of dropped this bomb on me this morning, that an old teacher who is also a family friend wanted to introduce me to a successful Alpha, and my parents urged me to come. I'm Sakura Haruno." She batted her lashes, placed her arms folded against the table and laid her chest against them, therefore exposing her cleavage slipping from the v neck of her red satin slip dress.

She had already read through his file three days ago and he was definitely a rich Alpha who could give her a very comfortable life. Although not from a prestigious clan, that man had placed all bets on him being one to snatch up if you wanted to live a luxurious life. If he wanted prestige, he could get it from her family although they were declining at a rapid pace, but if she could get her hands on him, then his wealth would be able to keep her family afloat and affluent. And since the love of her life didn't want her, she could manipulate this man into being putty in her hands and seduce him. Hopefully he'd forget everything she'd done while they were kids.

That voice and name. That disgustingly high pitched voice that grated on his nerves from childhood. Although Naruto had vaguely remembered that this was someone familiar to him, he couldn't quite place it until he heard that voice. His eyes roamed those features, and although now mature looking and having grown into her features, she could do nothing that would make him take her home to his father. Naruto lit a candle for Iruka in his heart. There was no way he was settling down with this piece of shit banshee who tormented him from the moment he touched down into Konoha Middle School until he graduated Konoha High.

Memories of his experiences with being bullied for being an orphan with no parents and not being able to differentiate at the same time as his peers granted him the label of being a dormant Omega, a useless runt. A dormant Omega was worse than an ordinary Omega because they weren't fully classified as one of the three secondary genders. At least then when someone becomes an Omega, your heat can be controlled by inhibitors and you could get pregnant and give birth to a child. But for a dormant, irregular cycles of excruciating pains not classified as a heat or a rut plagued them and were considered Undesirables as no one knew what they really were. They are a rare case and have a hard time of differentiating once more. Either you do or your stuck as an undesirable forever.

Male omegas in general weren't entirely free of discrimination, however if you came from a prestigious or even a wealthy family and differentiated as an Omega, then you were lucky and no one could say a thing. And that basically spoke for the majority of his peers, being that they were from prestigious clans of Konoha. Therefore it made sense that the poor orphan who was a dormant Omega would get the brunt of it all.

The amount of physical and psychological pain they've put him through he would never forget. But he would rather not dwell on it but instead move on from it. Although that didn't mean he'd forgive those scum.

"Is that so?" Naruto asked, his tone cold. He could see the scheming in her eyes. The atmosphere in the room plummeted, but Sakura shrugged it off and didn't take it seriously. This man and his money would definitely be hers.

"So, tell me about yourself Naruto-kun? Is it fine for me to call you that?" She inquired, stretching the arm underneath the one supporting her chest, and placing it onto his. She thought no man could resist the wiles of an attractive woman as she. Although she did not have the Omega pheromones necessary to beguile an Alpha, she was very confident in her looks.

Internally Naruto recoiled, but he refused to show it on the outside. "I'd prefer it if you'd call me Uzumaki-san, as we are not quite familiar with one another." He removed his hand from under hers, and picked up the menu. Naruto perused the options, ignoring her question about telling a bit about himself. He'd rather drown in a pool of piss or choke on a piece of shit before he ever voluntarily gave up information about himself.

"I wouldn't quite say we're unfamiliar, Naruto-kun. More than acquaintances, I'd say. Maybe even childhood friends, as we did attend the same junior high and high school together. And as we continue to get to know each other even more, I'd quite think we could be something a bit more," Sakura suggested with a teasing smile.

Naruto couldn't believe her shameless and remorseless attitude as she dared bring up the past, painting it as though she and her friends hadn't brought onto him countless scars. How courageous of her to dismiss all those years of intense bullying and abuse wrought onto him during his formative years. It'd a day in hell before he let her ego inflate as huge as her forehead. "I don't seem to share the same sentient as you, therefore please refer to me in the formal sense, Haruno."

If he recalled how troublesome of a child she was, she knew that with a few words and tears she could change the way he perceived her. Honestly, she was only a child who was into playing mischief, it's not like she'd ever done such a bad thing that could warrant him holding a grudge against her for all this time. It'd be pathetic in her opinion if he did. Although she would overlook it for now, but in the future he would need to be whipped into shape if he wanted to be apart of Konoha's prestigious clans. "Alright then, Uzumaki-san. Although, I'm sure by the end of tonight you'd have me screa- ahem, I mean calling out a different version of your name I hope," she laughed in a sultry way, hoping that flirting could help melt the ice from the atmosphere.

Naruto didn't react to what she said, but instead rang the bell on the table. A waiter entered the room with a quickness, and Naruto ordered a glass of Château Mouton Rothschild along with a medium rare steak. He gave the waiter his menu, and checked the time on his watch. This damn date from hell felt like it had been going on for hours but it had only been 15 minutes since he's arrived.

Naruto glanced up the moment he saw dissatisfaction flash within Sakura's green eyes. He smirked, and continued to ignore her. It'd be gentlemanly for him to order an appropriate dinner for his date, and he would've done so had it not been her.

Sakura seethed at his blatant disregard for her as his female companion. She was hoping that he'd be taken in by her beauty and order in her stead like a normal date. So, she took a deep breath to reign in her annoyance and ordered herself.

Naruto was very much enjoying the looks of consternation on her face with his vague replies and uncooperative attitude.

They sat in silence, with Naruto thinking about his food and Sakura scheming up ways to try and get his attention. Clearly small talk and flirtations were getting her nowhere. The waiter poured red wine into their glasses before making his way out.

"So, Uzumaki-san. What is it that you do? I am currently working at Konoha hospital as a resident doctor in internal medicine. If you ever get sick, god forbid, just stop by and I'd gladly treat you."

"I work in business." Was all Naruto offered, swishing the wine in the glass before bringing it to his lips.

She gritted her teeth in irritation, the space between her eyes furrowing in displeased confusion. Why wasn't he taking initiative? "Is that so? In what sector of business if I may be bold to ask? I have plenty of friends in the industry that I can get to collaborate with you. For a price of course," she winked, and began to caress her leg against his calves. Maybe this could be the trick in getting him to relax enough to be more receptive towards her.

"And exactly what could your friends offer me. If I do say so myself, I am quite the accomplished businessman. Do they have any projects worthy enough to partner up with my Group?"

Sakura sat there in complete silence, unable to say a word to defend her friends. She liked that he was confident and wealthy but could she ignore how much he was undermining her?

"Don't blow this for us, Sakura. If you do, see how I deal with you. The Haruno clan needs money in order to continue being apart of Konoha's scions— what with your older brother and cousins failing to garner projects, and your uncles scandals and embezzlements— our stock prices are dropping at a staggering rate. We can't wait forever for you to open up your own practice. Your teacher said that this Alpha named Naruto from Suna is a walking gold mine, so you better capture him before anyone else," Father Haruno demanded of her three days ago when the match was brought before them.

If she wanted to continue living the same lifestyle she had to do everything in her power to posses him. Sakura clenched her teeth and fought back the urge to punch this man. She'd get him for sure. For herself and her family's prestige.

"Don't be silly, Uzumaki-san. I'm sure there are plenty of ways for me to be of use to you if you think in the right direction. What with my Haruno clan behind me, I'd be sure to leverage all types of projects more worthy than you think. And if tonight turns out well, you'd be welcomed with open arms." Her roaming leg had inched its way up his inner thighs and towards his crotch.

Naruto froze, before frowning fiercely at her. He pushed his hands against the table and his chair flew backwards away from her harassment. Before he could berate her, someone walked into the room unannounced.

They simultaneously looked towards the person who entered the room, both in relief at the much needed distraction prior to a huge blowout occurring. But the sight all three of them beheld in that moment had them frozen in shock.

A pair of cerulean eyes locked gazes with a familiar pair of onyx orbs that he could never forget in his lifetime. He felt everything fade away save the man standing at the entrance of the door and found himself drowning in those eyes. With each second that passed, a feeling of deep desire and possessiveness began to swallow him whole. He had to suppress his rampaging pheromones in the presence of this Alpha that his whole entire being craved, although that was against the laws of the world.

This person was his and he would do anything in his power to possess him.

He made a hasty decision in those thirty seconds they held eye contact. A decision he knew he would never regret.

"This will never work out, Haruno. I'm in a relationship with an Alpha, and the only reason why I chose to come on this blind date in this first place was to appease my father as he doesn't quite know. Furthermore I don't appreciate you coming onto me in this way especially since you are an utter stranger with the graceless manners of a pig. I don't find you attractive at all, and a basic Beta like you could never do it for me. Also, a word of advice. Be careful not to do this to any other person, otherwise you won't find someone to be as amiable as I am that you'd see yourself being put into handcuffs for sexually harassing them," Naruto recited without a thought towards what was coming out of his mouth. He stood up, a plan of action already set in place, he pretended to trip on his chair with the glass of wine in his hands, and purposely spilled it against the man who had yet to leave the room.

Sakura gasped at his confession, and couldn't wrap her mind around what he was saying as she had yet to comprehend exactly who had just entered the room. It took her a couple of minutes for her brain to settle down. The man in front of her was the love of her life that had rejected her countless amounts of times from childhood to a few days ago. And for Naruto to spill such drivel right in front of him humiliated her to her core. Naruto looked at her gaping mouth that kept opening and shutting every few seconds like a fish and let out a chuckle.

He excused himself and turned towards the man who he had been crushing on for a very long time. The unattainable love that plagued his mind for years on end, that he refused to replace with anyone else. Although unnatural for Alphas to get together as their pheromones raged against the other like natural born enemies, he'd rather die alone than be with someone else that was not him.

His beloved Sasuke Uchiha.
