Four weddings and a funeral – Epilogue

Unkown very disagreeable woman's wedding

A year later

"This Vera Wang was not made for her." Hiashi rolled his eyes while Hizashi chuckled.

"Father!" Hinata gasped, trying to manage a gesticulating Boruto on her knees while five months pregnant.

"Neither was the groom." Hanabi scowled, remembering how she had seen the bride kissing the best man a few minutes earlier in a closet they forgot to lock.

"Hanabi!" Hinata scolded her little sister like she did her father.

"Are they wrong, though?" Neji stated, rearranging his tie, having been made aware of Hanabi's discovery by her husband.

"Neji!" That's it, Hinata was at her wits' end with her family.

"It sure is fun to sit with the Hyugas," Tenten whispered to Naruto, who nodded back frenetically.

"Definitely one of the highlights of marrying into the family." He agreed from behind, next to Hinata.

"Does anybody have snacks?" Konohamaru whispered across Hanabi, who was next to Tenten, the former being too enthralled in a gossiping session with her father, who was just behind next to Naruto. "I always like to snack when watching the Hyugas engage in slander."

"Oh, same." Tenten fetched something from her bag. "I have peanuts and dried fruits."

"That'll do." Konohamaru accepted them happily.

"Give me some too, please." Naruto extended his hands. "Hinata is about to scold them again." He popped a peanut in his mouth. "This is definitely better than Keeping Up With The Kardashians."

Neji turned towards his father, who had been whispering things to his fiancée. "Who is the bride anyway?" He murmured to him. "Anybody knows?" Neji threw a look at Hinata, who had been sitting just next to her uncle.

Both shrugged.

"Didn't you say she was the daughter of a business friend of some sort?" Shizune offered to trigger her fiancé's memory.

"Oh, you're right!" Hizashi snapped his fingers. "It's an old college buddy of Hiashi's and I. He also supplies us with silicone for some of our products."

"Are you all saying," Hanabi grunted. "That I got out of my sweatpants and got dragged away from my U-shaped pillow... for some old college friend of dad that he doesn't even remember about?" She gritted.

Konohamaru laughed nervously. "Here, here, darling." He patted her arm affectionately.

He turned to whisper to Neji: "Since she entered her third trimester, she has become a bit more irritable."

Hanabi cursed under her breath and crossed her arms over her protruding belly.

Neji gave his brother-in-law a compassionate look.

"Oh, here she comes." Hiashi nudged his boyfriend. "With that horrid dress on her. It's almost offensive."

"At least she can fit in a Vera Wang." Tenten sighed.

"You're nine months pregnant." Neji reminds her softly, taking her hands.

"And you would have looked gorgeous in that dress, even though your wedding dress was way more elegant," Hiashi reassured her.

"Because you chose it." She smiled at her uncle-in-law.

She stifled a moan of main. She had been having contractions on and off for the past week.

Turning to Neji, she gave him a soft kiss on the cheeks. "Can you believe that two years ago, I was walking an aisle just like this one, and you saw me for the first?"

"Best two years of my life, so far." He bent down to kiss her.

"I think I'm going to cry." Tenten suddenly blurted out while the ceremony started.

"I think I'm going to kill something," Hanabi muttered.

"I think I'm going to throw up." Hinata finished the triad.

Hiashi rolled his eyes, throwing an exasperated sigh in the air. "Boys, next time, please do try to coordinate yourselves. One pregnant daughter at the time, not the three of them."

"Says the ambitious grandpa who wants ten grandkids in the next four years." Hizashi scoffed at his brother.

Someone nearby shushed the whispering family.

"Shush yourself," Hiashi hissed back. "The 80s called, and they want that wretched aquamarine skirt back."

"In any case, this is going to be our last kid." Hinata threw a pointed look at Naruto, making a scissor motion with her finger.

'Vasectomy.' She mouthed to her frightened husband.

Konohamaru burst out laughing.

"Why are you laughing?" Hanabi threw a glare at her husband, who gulped. "You're next. It's your fault if I'm a non-stop pissing whale with a mini boxer redecorating my guts while I try to sleep." Her glare hardened.

Konohamaru smiled sheepishly. "I love you, darling." He tried to soften her unsuccessfully.

"I-I c-can't," Tenten continued sobbing in her dismayed husband's arms. "This brings back so many memories. F-four w-weddings and a f-funeral, and here we a-are." She cried, rubbing her stomach.

"Oh, Tenten, my love…" Neji tried to soothe her.

"If anyone objects to this wedding-"The priest who baptized Boruto stopped his speech to cough, sending a look at the whispering family.

Always the Hyugas, always them. He shuddered when he saw the three pregnant women.

And their brood his aggressively expanding, he quivered internally before redirecting his attention to the couple he was trying to marry.

"If anyone objects to this wedding-" He repeated.

"Don't even think about it." Hinata hissed to Hanabi, who huffed and crossed her arms over her protruding belly.

"- speak now or-"

"Is it me, or is the seat wet?" Hanabi patted her behind.

Tenten gasped. "Oh dear Lord… I think I broke my waters. "

"IT'S HAPPENING NOW?" Neji shouted back.

The entire family looked startled at Neji's sudden outburst. They could confidently say they had never heard Neji as much as raise his voice in his whole life.

"We're going to be grand-fathers?" Hiashi and Hizashi bolted upright from their seats.

"We're going to be aunts?" Hinata and Hanabi shouted, getting up with the help of their husbands.

"DATTEBAYO!" Naruto shouted while the whole family made their way out of the benches.

"Where are my keys? Where are the car keys?" Neji patted his pockets frantically.

"In your hands, Neji!" Tenten spat back, feeling her most painful contraction yet.

"What do you think you are all doing?" The bride shrieked at the most impolite family who was stealing her thunder.

"Oh, and whatever," she slapped her bouquet across the groom's chest before lifting her skirt and walking away. "I didn't even want to marry you."

The crowd gasped.

"No, in that dress, you shouldn't want to marry anyone," Hiashi replied archly under the increasing gasps of the crowd before following the rest of his clan out of the church.

Tenten smiled tiredly at the form of Neji softly rocking their bundled up one-month-old daughter in his arms. He was whispering sweet nothings in their child's ear, completely unaware of his wife's leaning presence against the doorframe.

"You want to know a little secret?" The new father whispered lovingly to his daughter. "I always thought that love at first sight was a silly myth invented by the romantic novels your aunt Hinata loves to read."

He peppered the plump bay cheeks with kisses. "But here I got to experience it twice."

"Don't tell your mother, though." He warned, and Tenten bit down her smile. "She already knows too much of her power over me."

Tenten couldn't help the small laugh and Neji turned around, slightly surprised. Tenten smiled softly at him before walking to him and wrapping her arms around him.

"Love at first sight, huh?" She teased him, and he smiled back.

"I knew right away." He admitted.

Tenten couldn't stop grinning like a fool. "Really?"

He nodded, still rocking their baby. "Like I know I'm going to love you for the rest of our very," He kissed her. "Very long lives."
