Hello, and welcome to this story! I have been on a long...LONG hiatus from writing fanfiction so I apologize if I'm a little rusty. Also I do not have a beta-reader so there may be spelling or grammar mistakes, I tried my best.

So this is actually a re-write of my previous Gargoyles story 'Untitled Romance' I kept a couple of the original characters I created but I changed the entire plot and added chapters. My favourite character from the show has always been Brooklyn. I wanted him to have a story where he A: gets the girl, and B: contains sexy scenes where I got to do my own take on his anatomy and C: isn't too long or heavy of a read. It's only 11 chapters. It takes place between the last two episodes of Gargoyles.

This story is actually fully written. I did not want to upload it until all the chapters were complete just in case I lost interest in writing it. I'll upload chapters on a weekly basis but maybe more frequently if I get a good response. If anyone's actually reading this I really hope you like it!

The M-rated content will not be starting for a couple more chapters. You could skip over it if it's not your thing.

Disclaimer: I do not own Gargoyles, I only own my own characters in this story.

Let It Last All Night

Goliath and his clan had been living back in Castle Wyvern for some time now. They had since made peace with David Xanatos and now went on nightly patrols stopping crime, petty thefts, and saving the innocent. After all, Gargoyles protect.

They had few enemies now. The only thorn in everyone's side was the radical terrorist group known as The Quarrymen. Led by John Castaway, his organization mostly resembled a cult and consisted of trigger-happy eccentrics. Castaway unfortunately had large amounts of money, therefore anti-gargoyle propaganda was featured on several billboards throughout the city. He was hell-bent on proving the existence of gargoyles and eliminating them. Despite this a lot of people still believed they were just a legend, crazy ramblings from an overly obsessed ego-maniac. That was what the gargoyles preferred, well, most of them.

For Brooklyn the expectation was for him to patrol for a couple hours and then he was free to do whatever he wanted. He still longed for acceptance from the humans but also for something interesting to happen. Even though you could always expect the unexpected in Manhattan, it had been boring lately. He did have Lexington and Broadway to do stuff with but Lexington was often wrapped up in his computer and Broadway was with Angela. They had been open about their relationship for some time now. Even Lex chatted with friends online. Brooklyn had to admit he felt lonely most nights.

Not tonight however, Goliath had finally given them the night off to see a concert at Times Square.

Brooklyn was looking forward to it, the band playing was one of his favourites: Green Day. He silently prayed that tonight would go off without a hitch. Wishful thinking on his part. He should've known that things hardly ever go according to plan.

Aimee Stone walked silently through the lit streets of downtown Manhattan. Pausing she turned down to look at her phone, 9:32 pm it read, the bright light quickly illuminating her face. 'Not late yet' she murmured, curfew was 10pm. She attended college on the Westside, but the doors to her residence were locked at 10:00. If you arrived late you'd have to contact campus security and that was a headache and a half. She had been attending a poetry reading downtown trying to drum up some inspiration for her writing assignment, Like any other New Yorker she knew her way around this city she knew the city like the back of her hand. She had lived her whole life in Brooklyn, all twenty-three years of it. She was confident that she could take care of herself and get back safely or so she thought.

The subway was the best and quickest option. As she approached the underground entrance she felt as if someone was following her. She hurried through the crowd to try and lose them. As she settled in her seat she thought she was safe. A couple stops later and she had to get out to change to a streetcar. Aimee had just gone above-ground when she felt it again. The prickly feeling that someone was watching her. There were less people here and she half-walked half-ran down the street to the stop for buses and streetcars.

Passing by an alley she felt someone roughly grab her arm and drag her into the darkness.

Four shadowed winged creatures easily glided on the warm up-drafts of air that came with the start of summer. The late concert was about to begin. They could hear the faint sounds of the rock instruments coming from the enormous speakers and the ecstatic screams of the hundreds of people already gathered.

"Guys we're almost there!" Lexington asked excitedly. "I promised my online friends I'd get a video of 'American Idiot'!"

"Can we need to stop for a bite to eat first?" Broadway asked feeling his round belly complain and growl.

His lavender-coloured mate giggled, gliding alongside him. "We just had breakfast my love, how could you possibly want more?"

Broadway blushed slightly, his mint-coloured cheeks taking on a pink hue. "You know me…I'm never satisfied!"

Brooklyn could see the bright lights of Times Square appear in the distance. "Honestly Broadway…you can eat when we get there." He said raising an eye-ridge at his bottomless pit of a brother.

Lexington grinned as he too saw Times Square approaching and went into a dive. "There it is!"

The remaining three followed until Brooklyn thought he heard something. He could have sworn it was a faint scream. "I'll catch up with you guys later, I gotta check something out!"

Broadway, Lex and Angela stopped. "What's wrong? Need us to come with you?" she asked.

Brooklyn set his jaw and shook his head. "Nah, you guys go on ahead. I'll be fine. I think someone's in trouble."

The other three turned to leave. "If you're sure, buddy," Broadway said and followed Lex and Angela in the direction of the concert.

Brooklyn strained his ears. He knew he'd heard a scream. A woman, and she was in trouble. Hearing it again he was able to pinpoint the location and folded his wings, angling down for a quick dive.

Aimee's blood turned to ice in her veins. She kicked and fought her attacker but he easily outweighed her in size and stature.

"You, bastard! Let me go!" She turned her terrified gaze to her attacker, he had taken the liberty of wearing a black knit balaclava so she'd be unable to identify him. He pushed her up against a wall and held her hands above her head.

"You're a feisty one." he said as he looked appreciatively over her slender frame. "I like that, it's a major turn-on." He pressed his thick torso against her body, sighing with need.

Panic began to flood through her settling in the pit of her stomach. She'd read news articles about unsuspecting girls getting raped in alleys and definitely did not want to become the next headline on tomorrow's newspaper. She could see it now, 'Daughter of famous CEO raped in an alley.' "No! Please!…Just let me go…You don't want to do this!" she cried.

He flashed her a lascivious grin. "Oh but I do…you women think you can just go about your lives taunting me with your bodies, your 'feminism' and your 'rights'. Some of you need a reminder about who's in charge here." he said releasing one of her hands so he could roughly palm one of her breasts.

"Help me! Somebody please help me!" she screamed.

He suddenly backhanded her and she gasped out in pain. "Shut up, bitch! Try that again and you'll unconscious while I have my way with you." He moved his hand back to her breast, kneading it and squeezing it tightly. Next he moved his hands down to the waistband of her pants. "Don't worry, I'll be gentle. Hope you're a virgin, bitch." She could see that he was giving her a sickly smile under the fabric of his balaclava. The only thing she could hope for now is that it was over quickly. Hopefully, once he got off he'd tired of her and leave her alone.

The next thing she knew, she was released and the man holding her was thrown about 10 feet away, slamming back-first into the brick wall. He groaned in pain and gave a terrified gasp at his attacker. "I-it's you! You're real!"

A cool voice spoke smoothly in the darkness. "You're damn right we're real. What the hell do you think you were doing just now?" He grabbed the man by the front of his shirt collar and held him up to his face giving a low growl.

Aimee strained her eyes in the darkness. She could see the two figures. The man who attacked her and another larger figure. He had an otherworldly look about him and although she couldn't make out his feature she definitely noticed his eyes. They were narrowed in anger at the man, glowing bright white against the darkness.

The figure was barely containing his rage as he shook the man once, "Does it make you feel powerful?! Does forcing yourself on a woman make you feel more like a man?!" He threw him to the ground hard. "You make me sick…" the man, her attacker too shell-shocked to say anything cowered in fear whimpering "Oh God, oh God please don't kill me!"

She saw the figure grab a couple pieces of metal and in her amazement he easily bent it around the man's hands and feet effectively immobilizing him. She then heard a small click and he spoke again calmer this time. "Elisa? Yeah it's me, I caught a piece of scum trying to rape a girl…yeah, that's where I am. You sending a squad car? Yeah I'll ask her to make a statement. Thanks." He then ripped the balaclava off the man's face and shoved him toward her. "Get a good look at this loser before the police come and take him away. You should go to the police station to get a statement taken." He said finally turning towards her. His eyes, she noticed were no longer glowing.

He was about to leave, no wait, was he about to climb up the wall? She finally found her voice and cried. "Wait! Don't leave, I want to thank you!" she slowly approached him.

He stopped but backed further into the alley as if he was afraid of her. "Uh…you're welcome, you really don't have to come any closer."

She stopped but kept her gaze focused on him, "It's alright, you can show yourself. You told me to memorize my attacker but I'd like to look upon the face of my saviour as well." She crept a little closer.

Brooklyn shrank away; he'd had one too many people scream in absolute terror at his appearance. "St-stay back! I should just go, it's better this way."

"Please wait! I promise it's okay." In all her years of parents and teachers telling her to never talk to strangers she knew this man was a good person. His very voice radiated kindness and she needed to see who he was.

For a second Brooklyn believed her and he took a step closer. "You're probably better off just forgetting you ever met me."

She shook her head giving him a grin, "I doubt that, if anything I'm more intrigued than ever about who you are."

She heard a sharp intake of breath and saw him put his hands up. "Okay…okay, I'll show you, only if you promise not to scream."

Aimee put her hands up as well as an act of surrender, "I promise…" Her curiosity definitely piqued now, was he hideously disfigured…?

Brooklyn carefully moved into the illuminated part of the alley starting with his foot. He heard the girl emit a soft gasp, squaring himself he slowly moved the rest of his body so she could gaze upon him fully. He tightly shut his eyes, so sure once she got a good look at him she'd run away with a horrified expression on her face like so many others. "There… happy?"

Aimee's eyes widened in shock and amazement. She'd had a feeling he wasn't human but this was just fantastic! For a few moments all she could do was stare at him. From his taloned feet to his brick-red skin, to his beaked face and his wild mane of silver hair. Oh and his wings! He had them unfurled for a moment and then clasped them around his neck with two claw-like appendages. He was well-muscled lean and strong, he was truly a sight to behold.

She waited for him to say something when she noticed his eyes were still screwed shut. "Hey, It's okay, you can relax. I'm just in awe, I never thought I'd get saved by one of you!"

Brooklyn's eyes popped open and it was his turn to be surprised. "One of us…you know about us?" He turned, finally getting a good look at the girl he saved. Her hair consisted of honey-coloured waves which hung loosely around her shoulders. She had a fair complexion and wore light, casual clothing due to the warmer weather. When he looked upon her face he was greeted by another surprise. Her eyes sported two different shades. One was a deep ocean blue and the other was a light hazel brown. What was that called…he wracked his brain for a few seconds, heterochromia! He remembered Lexington saying something about heterochromia happening in animals, but he didn't know humans could be born with it as well. He decided then and there that it was her nicest feature and silently admired her for it.

She swished her hair and gave him a half-smile. "Well, you read stuff in the tabloids about 'winged creatures that secretly live in the city, silently living among us' and some news reports containing eye-witness reports raving about flying monsters that act as vigilantes. There's also a whole blog dedicated to proving your existence, not to destroy you by the way, the person who runs it is a huge fan and he's got a lot of followers, more each day. Gargoyles…I thought it might be true…now I know for sure!" She wouldn't admit right away that she was an avid follower of that particular blog. She could only imagine how jealous the blog-creator would be if he knew she had actually met one of them!

Brooklyn had to admit he was impressed, for the most part he assumed most humans hated gargoyles. The Quarrymen propaganda had made it worse for him and his kind. He never imagined having 'fans' Lex is going to have a field day when he finds out about this. "Well, it is nice to save someone and not have them run away screaming for once."

She giggled at his tone, "Glad I'm one of them. Thank you, for saving me." She said and gave him a sincere smile.

Brooklyn was floored, this cute girl was actually smiling. At him! He was about to say something when he heard faint cheering in the distance, he had completely forgotten about the concert. "The concert! Oh, man I have no idea how late it is…"

Aimee checked her phone again. "It's a quarter past…10!" She gave a frustrated groan. "I'm past my curfew, and it's still gonna take me at least 20 minutes to get back..." She glanced at him again. "I gotta get going, thank you…uh, what do people call you? Gargoyle-man?"

Brooklyn chuckled at her remark, he was about to answer when the sharp sound of police sirens pierced the air. A squad car had arrived at last. "Hey um, don't forget to give a statement alright?" He moved back into the shadows. "And uh, you don't need to mention me, cool?"

The police were exiting the car now and Aimee made a split-second decision. "Wait here, okay? I'll be right back." She walked back over to the front of the alley to speak to the police.

The red-skinned gargoyle was again shocked by her words. Should he wait? Was this a trap? Was he on candid camera? He was silently at war with himself, part of him wanted to stay while the other screamed at him to leave. There was no way a human as pretty as her was just so cool with him being…well, him.

Another fifteen minutes passed and the police hauled the man into the squad car and told Aimee she was free to go. They couldn't help but lay some guilt on her about walking alone at night and advised her to carry mace next time. She rolled her eyes internally and after the car left she made her way back into the alley. "Hey…gargoyle-man? You still here?" For a few seconds she heard nothing and started angrily whispering to herself 'of course he's gone, you idiot, what made you think he'd stick around?'

At this, Brooklyn could not help but laugh. "I'm still here." He said making himself visible again. "Also, it's not 'gargoyle man' the name's Brooklyn." He said smirking slightly.

"Ah, like where I grew up." She held out her hand. "I'm Aimee, with an I and two E's." she very much hoped he'd shake her hand, what would it feel like?

Brooklyn hesitated for a minute and took her small hand carefully in his giving it a slight shake. "Nice to meet you Aimee with an I and two E's." he released her hand, letting his drop down to his side. "You were saying something about a curfew?"

Aimee had been marvelling the fact that his skin felt like very smooth leather and that the talons edging from his fingertips were very sharp indeed when she felt his hand slip away from hers. "Uh…right. Yes, my residence is now locked, I'll have to call someone to let me in when I get there." She sighed in exasperation, glancing away from him.

He shuffled nervously for a moment afraid to ask. "Is there uh, anything I can do?"

Still glancing away she answered with a snort, "Not unless you could fly me to my balcony somehow, I always keep the door is unlocked." She huffed glancing at her phone, now 10:45. "Don't worry about it, I'll figure it out."

Decision made he smacked his fist into his palm, "Actually I can…you afraid of heights?" he asked, steeling himself for her answer.

Finally she turned giving him an incredulous look. "No in fact… I enjoy being up high, why do you ask?" He was now holding out his hand to her giving her an expectant look. "Do you mean…no, no way, really?!"

Brooklyn grinned, "Yeah really, grab ahold of my neck and I'll climb us to the top of the building."

She took a few seconds to process this. "You're not joking…you actually mean it?"

"Yes! Now c'mon, I won't drop you." He turned to her and she got a good look at his beautiful wings still wrapped around his body.

Hesitantly she walked up behind him and put her arms loosely around his neck clasping them tightly over his chest. "Are you sure I won't be too heavy?"

He smirked, "Babe, you'll be light as a feather I promise. Now put your legs around my waist. I'm gonna jump onto the side of the building now." He couldn't deny it felt really nice to have her so close. It had been a long time since he'd had physical contact such as this. It felt so…human.

Aimee did as she was told and tightly wrapped her legs around his waist, his body felt so strong. She believed him when he said she weighed nothing to him. He was moving now and she gasped slightly as he jumped onto the side of the building, digging his strong claws into the brick.

"Wow." she remarked. "You weren't kidding." She had to use all of her strength to hold on as he climbed them both higher. She released a breath she didn't know she was holding when the two of them finally reached the top and she was able to get down.

He turned to face her with a grin, "You ain't seen nothing yet." He approached her carefully, suddenly nervous again, the cockiness he had displayed a second earlier was now gone. "Is…I kinda need to carry you, is…are you okay with that?" he stammered, mentally kicking himself.

Aimee could not contain herself releasing a high-pitched nervous giggle, he was so adorable! "That's okay Brooklyn, you can carry me."

Brooklyn felt his face split into a smile as well. "Alright here I go," he slipped one arm under her back and the other between the bend in her legs scooping her up and bringing him close to his chest. "Thank you…" he said quietly.

Aimee craned her neck to look up at him in confusion. "For what? I should be the one thanking you."

He jumped up onto the ledge of the building and opened his wings. "For trusting me." He answered. "Hold on tight here we go."

Before she could say anything she yelped in surprise as she felt him jump into the air. She gasped, her arms wrapping around his neck tightly. "Holy…sh-." They dropped slightly causing her stomach to dip much like being on a roller-coaster. She then felt him level out steadily gliding through the air above the city.

"You okay?" he called to her, his voice raised to speak to her over the now rushing wind. "You can open your eyes now. Also I kinda need some direction on where to go!"

She had not realized she had shut her eyes, upon opening them she felt a big wide smile creep across her face. The wind—much colder now, whistled through her hair and the lights of the city sparkled below them. It was beautiful. "Wow, she breathed, this is incredible!"

He laughed, holding her a bit closer when he felt her shiver, "Glad you like it! Now where to?"

With a quick glance at her surroundings she pointed, "Columbia University on the upper west side! There's a residence building, I'll show you which one!"

Angling his wings, he turned them in the direction in which she pointed. "Got it, I know the one."

Coming upon the university she called to him "That one, there!" gesturing to the building in question. "Third room from the right, 10th floor!"

Brooklyn glided to the correct balcony, lightly touched down and waited for her to let go. "This the one?"

Realizing she hadn't let go yet she released her arms and allowed her legs to touch solid ground again. She wobbled slightly and he quickly grabbed her arm to steady her. "Whoa…watch it, take a sec, very common for your first flight." She couldn't help but give him a playful glare, he wasn't even winded!

"Yeah, yeah well it's not every day you get to fly with a gargoyle…"she smiled and gave him a wink. "You're pretty good at that." She steadied herself and smiled again when he respectfully dropped his hand.

Brooklyn tried not to gape at her, was she actually flirting with him? This couldn't be happening, he tried to put together some kind of clever response but it was like his brain was broken. "

"Uh…you're welcome?" He shifted slightly, "It was nothin' really." He mumbled, turning to leave. Stupid, stupid, couldn't come up with anything better than that?

She sensed his nervousness and gently placed her hand on his forearm causing him to jump slightly. "I mean it, thank you. You really saved me, and not just in that alley back there."

Their eyes met and he could not help but stare, she really was being genuine with him. He tried to speak but all the words he'd had seemed to be stuck in his throat. Her eyes were so amazing…

She too, noticed his eyes. Looking more closely now she could see the irises were not completely black but dark brown with flecks of gold. She wondered how they could flash white when he was in fight mode. She'd like to ask him sometime.

Finding his voice finally Brooklyn gave a slight cough, moving his arm out of her touch, "Uh, well I should go find my brothers, they're probably wondering where I am."

She nodded, "Right, sorry for keeping you, that was awesome, I never knew flying could be so amazing."

He perched on the edge of her balcony, "Oh one more thing, gargoyles don't 'fly', we glide." He said with a wink.

"Wait!" Aimee cried and hesitated for a few moments. "I know this might seem crazy but can I see you again?"

Again Brooklyn was surprised for the umpteenth time that night. "You want to see me again? Yeah, of course!" Brooklyn felt a sense of elation. "Tomorrow night?"

Aimee couldn't believe her luck but tried to contain her excitement lest she do something completely embarrassing, "Yeah, meet me here, same time." She grinned and opened the sliding door to her dorm room.

Brooklyn leaped from the balcony and did a couple loops in the air. He had never felt as light and free as he did at that moment. He knew he had most likely missed the concert but he didn't care, she was definitely worth it.

Unbeknownst to him, Aimee closed her sliding door and allowed her excitement to take over as she jumped around the room a few times before letting herself fall back against her bed. She was never going forget this night, ever.

She had to tell someone, she thought about calling her best friend Becky. It was pretty late but like her, Becky was a night owl. Pulling out her phone she dialled the number, hearing a sleepy 'hello' on the other end she spoke. "Bex? Sorry if I woke you. You're never gonna believe what happened to me!"

It was 45 minutes into the concert when Brooklyn finally arrived, it was nearly over.

He easily located his brothers and Angela on a beam high above the concert. Lex gave him a look when he found a spot to sit down. "Where were you…?" his olive-skinned friend asked. "You've missed all the good songs."

"Yeah, it's gonna be ending soon." Broadway said, his arm around Angela as they both swayed back and forth to the current song which had a slower tempo.

"Sorry guys, I…got caught up with something." Brooklyn said, still preoccupied with thinking about Aimee.

Noticing the goofy smile on his face, his rookery brothers glanced to each other and nodded knowingly. "So…what's her name?" Lex asked.

Brooklyn jumped slightly, "What?! There's no…that's not-." He sighed, "Can't keep anything past you can I?" he said with a grin. I guess I might as well tell you, I met someone tonight."

End Chapter 1
