Naomi was talking to Nonna about what was going to happen. They were trying to get something from one of their students. Nonna wasn't giving an inch.
"For the last time Naomi, we're not taking a blood sample from Brook as of yet. Hasn't the poor girl been through enough already?" Nonna asked. She was trying to remain firm yet civil about her decision.
"I mean we need to track down what everything seems to be and figure out where she is from. If we don't then Kay might as well have free control over her and her condition is only going to worsen. Once that month is up, she is going to be spam calling her and therefore, her condition is going to worsen. It's only a matter of time before I'm going to catch her sleeping with her again." Naomi was persistent about trying her best to get a DNA sample from her so they could prevent a catastrophe from happening.
"Enough blood has been spilled from her body as of the events of the summer and we can't let anymore spill, it's still going to take a long time for her to fully recover and get back to normal." Nonna made the argument that she couldn't let any more blood be spilled from the poor student's body as she would run out of it. Naomi got up and walked off.
"You got a point but we need to do this fast." She responded to her. Nonna nodded but that had to be done another time. "I better get a blood sample at the end of this month, maybe this February if I'm being lenient." Naomi then left the room as Nonna needed to give into Naomi's demands but she was hesitant about drawing blood from Brook.
Miho had gathered the group around her as she had some announcements to make. These were important.
"Okay, Trout told us that we're facing Kuromorimine as of tomorrow and we can beat them again. However, we need to refine some of our tactics and try our best to keep them away. I know Aya and Azusa have done the heavy lifting for the entire team so far but Kuromorimine is far from naive. They'll single them out quickly and rip them to shreds if they try anything funny with us so we need to protect Memphis group to prevent this from happening. We might have to change what we've been doing as our tactics have been involving trapping the other team, Kuromorimine might come up with a counter to this." Miho laid out what she could possibly know about her foe.
"Why not take the fight to them and try reverse trapping them?" Azusa suggested. Miho looked at her vice commander as she wondered if Azusa was onto something.
"Explain the reverse trapping method." Miho wanted Azusa to tell them about the method. Azusa scratched her head as she began to think about it. After a couple moments of silence and coming to some sort of reflection. Azusa finally began speaking.
"Okay the reverse trapping method is when two teams drive up to each other, we race around and quickly trap the enemy before they could trap us. Once that is done, we fire from our respective positions and decimate the entire team." Azusa told Miho that was what her plan was. Miho began to think about it and decided to try it out.
"Okay you have my word but we're putting you in the center as you're too valuable for the team." Miho replied. Azusa nodded and Miho knew the meeting had to be concluded. "Meeting dismissed." Everyone got up and began to walk away. They knew they had to either fight these battles out themselves or try out Azusa's tactic. Kuromorimine on the other hand was going to try their best to completely trap Ooarai and take out their strongest groups first before they could do any significant damage to them.
Yukari was looking out the window at a rolling snowfall that was coming on through. Miho walked over to see what Yukari was looking at.
"Have you seen something as beautiful as this?" Yukari asked. Miho looked at her fluffy friend and she began to think.
"No I haven't, what makes you say that?" Miho asked. Yukari looked on ahead and she began speaking.
"Well we're friends, all five of us but some day that might end as we're moving on with our lives. Don't you miss the friends you grew up with?" Yukari asked. Miho began to think, reflecting on what her friend had just asked. She didn't want their friendship to end but they needed to go somewhere in the future, even if it meant they couldn't see each other.
"I definitely miss my friends from elementary school though, those that I made when I was ten. I hope I get to see them again. Miho responded. She kept her head down as she began to think. She turned to Yukari as she had something to ask her. "You never had any real friends outside of tanks until recently, like growing up?"
"Tanks were the only friends I had growing up Miho but I thought you remembered this." Yukari responded to what Miho had asked.
"We should be able to win against Kuromorimine tomorrow huh?" Miho asked, she tried her best to be gentle with Yukari as she didn't want to start up any fights.
"Hopefully so, we still need to protect Azusa as she could hold the keys to winning." Yukari nodded. Miho smiled before she hugged Yukari.
"We should do everything to make our vice commander feel proud." Miho got up and headed to bed, the final match was going to start in the morning and she needed to sleep.
Miho and the group were getting ready for the match against Kuromorimine the next day when Ami came up to them with Trout and Moose.
"I've heard you girls are on a roll, Kuromorimine seems to be tough to crack but you've done it before so good luck." Ami began wishing them for the best and hopefully they would be able to quickly take out Kuromorimine.
"If you crush them, you can show that they aren't invincible." Moose encouraged them. Trout ordered Moose to stand down before she began speaking to Miho.
"Hopefully you can take them out without a hitch, good luck." Trout told them that this victory was what was needed to show them that Kuromorimine wasn't as powerful as they thought they were.
"Thanks." Miho responded back. She turned and began walking away. Now time for the final match in Vancouver was about to begin.
•3&5 Kuromorimine vs Ooarai Girls Academy
Miho and hew crew have pulled up to the starting position as the girls arranged themselves into a tight diamond shape formation with Memphis group being in the center. Miho began explaining the plan.
"Remember, we have to fight them alone and hopefully with their backs turned, if they're charging at us, we need to take them out so they don't gang up on Memphis group, if they do, we lose this match." Miho explained what they were going to do. The others nodded with anticipation.
"Okay we should be ready, let's try getting the final match underway." Akebi responded enthusiastically. She was ready to claim victory but Miho seemed nervous. She didn't know what Maho was preparing to throw her way. The mortar fired off signaling the start of the final match. Ooarai had blue balloons while Kuromorimine had black balloons. Both sides began driving off to their enemies.
Maho and her group were heading off to Miho in the opposite direction, She had gathered the best students she could think of to help participate. They had managed to get their way over to victory so far but now they had to face Miho who was competing for the top spot.
"Okay we have Ooarai to face off against, they're pretty dangerous if you get caught out so try sticking together and cover each other's weak points, there is no cover out here on this steppe so Ooarai might have the advantage." Maho began to command the entire group to keep themselves on the alert in case they spotted Ooarai's team. They then stopped as Maho began issuing orders. "Erika, you will be covering the far left. Koume, you and Emi cover the right. Olivia, cover the center." Maho gave the orders as the teams dispersed to find good ambushing spots. Olivia and the driver dismounted their snowmobiles as Olivia sets up the Mg34 on the cushion and with the bipod out. She was definitely acting as the support gunner. Her driver got out the binoculars and began scanning for Ooarai. Maho then got into her position and decided to keep tabs on the team.
"Okay everyone in position?" Koume asked everyone if they had set themselves up.
"Kaya-san ready and standing by." Olivia gave her word. She shivered a bit as the cold wasn't something she was used to, especially not in these temperatures. Her breath gave off a huff as it was freezing out.
"Maho is standing by." Maho gave her status.
"Erika standing by." Erika told Koume.
"Emi standing by." Emi (K) responded.
"Everyone is accounted for." Maho nodded with approval, all they needed to do now was wait. Miho was unaware she was driving straight into an ambush.
"Hey, we spotted Kuromorimine but where are they?" Miho asked, she spotted their entire team but now they were gone, did they leave their positions or was it that one snowmobile sitting out in the open. Olivia then popped up and began firing the Mg34 at Miho's tightly packed group. "It's a trap! Disperse!" Miho shouted, the group began breaking up as they drove off. Memphis group immediately got one of their balloon's popped along with Oakley group and two from Shelby group. Olivia stopped firing once Ooarai managed to get away. She and the driver hopped onto the snowmobile.
"Four balloons popped and Ooarai scattered." Olivia gave the status from the attack.
"Okay good, pursue and finish Ooarai off." Maho gave the order, the others began popping out from their positions to try attacking a fleeing Ooarai. Olivia was busy reloading her Mg34 while the driver nodded. Once she was done, they drove off.
Memphis and Kira groups were trying to figure out a plan on how they could win as Shelby group had one balloon left
"We need to keep you in the game as long as possible Azusa, you're vital to our victory." Nekota began. Azusa looked back as one of their balloons had popped.
"Okay but you gotta protect us if you can." Azusa nodded but she didn't feel confident to take Kuromorimine on.
"We'll do everything we can but you gotta be alert." Nekota gave Azusa her words. Shiloh group crossed as Yukari was firing on Erika's group, Shiloh group already had one of their balloons popped and Yukari was trying to keep them at bay. She fired the M/21 BAR at Erika's group, popping one of her balloons.
"Grr. You think you can outsmart me, Well you have to face the Nishizumi style of snow." Erika growled as she continued chasing Ooarai down. Firing again, she missed while Miho knew she needed to act fast to turn the tide against Erika while the latter was working the bolt to her Kar98k.
"Yukari, we're going to have to charge, get ready." Miho told her. Yukari finished reloading and nodded. Erika fired again and missed but Miho unexpectedly drifted around and began driving in the opposite direction. Yukari was surprised as Miho quickly whipped out her TT-33 and fired the entire magazine out, popping another balloon. She then quickly drifted around as Yukari fired again, popping Erika's last balloon. Erika was the first to be taken out.
"Grah!" Erika shouted in frustration, she was the vice commander, not the first to be eliminated. Another burst came out and popped another one of Shiloh group's balloons.
"They're still all over us." Yukari told Miho. Miho drove off quickly as this fight was quickly spiraling into chaos. Shelby group was fighting Emi as the two sides were trading fire. Akebi raised her Pattern 14 Enfield and fired, popping one of Emi's balloons.
"Turn this one around, I'm going in for the kill." Emi (K) told her driver. The driver nodded as she turned around and began to charge straight in at Noriko. Akebi fired the rifle again but she missed so she worked the bolt.
"Well we might as well go down while we cause some damage." Noriko told Akebi as she drew his pistol. Akebi nodded as Noriko sped up to fire at Emi's group. Raising her pistol, she began firing, popping another one of Emi's balloons while Emi fired her Kar98k and popped Shelby group's last balloon.
"One down, four to go." Emi (K) told the group. She drove off before she heard a shot from Oakley team as they quickly dispatched her by popping her last balloon.
"You shouldn't have said that, but hey, at least they aren't turtle team." Her driver told Emi that they were the ones that attacked their Jagdpanther.
Oakley group drove off and joined up with Memphis and Kira groups while everyone was circling around and looking for the remaining teams.
"Well Everyone's wildly charging at us. Kuromorimine is made of much sterner stuff than what we expected." Nekota began to believe that Kuromorimine wasn't giving up without a fight. Olivia's group came around the corner and she began spraying the Mg34 at the three groups. Oakley group had another balloon popped along with another from Memphis group and one from Kira group.
"And Olivia's back, she's going to be the undoing of the team." Takako grumbled that Maho's apprentice was dealing the most damage. Azusa then remembered something.
"I'm going to split off. Keep her distracted." Azusa told the group. Memphis group splits off from the others as Nekota fires her Grease gun at Olivia's group to keep her distracted. Olivia fired the Mg34 trying to knock out one of the opposing groups.
"Good luck." Nekota told Azusa. She kept firing the grease gun to keep the Mg34 gunner focused on them.
Aya drove Azusa around to the rear of Olivia as they were going to dispatch her swiftly before she could do anymore damage. Raising the Auto 5 shotgun, Azusa fired three times, quickly taking out Olivia's group which eliminated her from the team. The gunner stopped firing and turned to her rear to see that all three of her balloons had popped.
"Well they should be pretty weak so we can just eliminate them." Olivia told Maho that she was now out of the match as she had been dispatched by Memphis group.
"Okay I'm on my way to clean up the mess you have created." Maho replied, her group began racing their way over to see if they could eliminate the threat before it did any more damage to their team.
Maho's driver cruised their way over. Oakley group had moved off to help Miho out with fighting Koume. This left Memphis and Kira groups by themselves to tangle with Maho. The elder sisters arrived on the scene and began firing her Mp40 at the entire group, popping another balloon from Kira group.
"Flank around and finish them off." Nekota told Azusa to hurry up before another group went down. Azusa nodded as she finished reloading the Auto 5 and moved in to finish the job. They got close and Azusa fired, popping one of Maho's balloons before she turned and sprayed the Mp40, popping the last balloon Memphis group had. Now their most powerful ally had been dispatched. Nekota fired the grease gun and popped another balloon from Maho before she fired back and popped Kira group's last balloon. Two groups had been eliminated within the span of a minute.
Oakley group came to Shiloh group as they were going to take out Koume before finishing off whatever was left.
"Okay we're going to fight Koume before we turn on my sister and finish her off, we're weak at this point so we have to rely on our speed to take out Koume." Miho laid out her plan to take the rest of Kuromorimine out. Then Momo buzzed as she had some news for them.
"Well you better hurry as Memphis and Kira groups have been eliminated so you better have fun with the rest of them." Momo told Miho that they should be ready to move in and fight off what was left of Kuromorimine.
Koume quickly spotted Oakley group as Takako began firing the M1 Garand at her, immediately popping one of her balloons. Koume raised the Kar98K she had and fired it at Oakley group and popped one of their balloons.
"Curse this bolt action rifle." Koume grumbled as she cocked the bolt. Takako just reloaded her rifle and began firing away again and popped the second balloon Koume had. Miho and the group moved in and Yukari began firing the M/21 BAR and popped the last balloon Koume had.
"Yep that's one more down and one to go." Miho sighed to the other group, she drove off ready to intercept Maho while Oakley group was going to act as the bait. Maho drove in and she began firing the Mp40 at Oakley group and popped their last balloon. Now Shiloh group was the only group left but that wasn't going to last long, Miho swiftly drove in, whipped out her pistol and began firing, popping Maho's last balloon on the run. Ami and Momo were looking on as they knew they had a close match on their hands.
"And Ooarai takes the cake and wins the final match." Ami announced. Miho looked up as they managed to win by the skin of their teeth. Kuromorimine was formidable and more challenging than Maple High School in the beginning but they managed to pull through.
The two teams cleaned themselves up as Maho and Miho were chatting to themselves.
"Was this exciting?" Maho asked, she was on her toes the entire match and had the most fun.
"Yeah it was, I had to find a way to out position you in the end. I miss being in my tank though." Miho replied. Even though this new sport was fun, she missed what she liked doing most, participating in a sport with a tank.
"Hopefully the snow will clear up and MEXT can allow us to do Sensha-Do once more. I don't know how long because it's still winter and there is the chance that more snow can be on the way. If Sensha-Do is canceled again, you know what we can do. Take care." Maho patted her younger sister on the head before she began to walk away. Ami walked over and she began speaking to Miho next.
"Hey Miho we heard the news, The weather is clearing up, Sensha-Do can be rescheduled." Ami began. Miho looked at her with surprise as she got excited.
"That surely is good news, when do you think they will start up again?" Miho asked Ami.
"January 17th is the best bet according to Shichiro. Once that has been decided we move out back to Japan. However I'm still keeping an eye on the weather as this winter weather can still turn sour." Ami gave her guess on when Sensha-Do was expected to be resumed.
"Okay great. We're going back to Japan tomorrow anyway, which we hope to actually go do what we do." Miho tried finding the best words to say it in. Ami smiled and nodded.
"Well we found out who the girl in the newspaper clipping is thanks to Trout contacting us." Ami also decided to give some news.
"Who is she?" Miho asked. Ami nodded and got out the newspaper clipping.
"It's Brook from what we gathered, according to Trout, she got it from you and you said some stranger gave you the picture?" Ami asked. They were slowly piecing together with what was happening.
"Some boy did, blonde hair, brown eyes, what does he want her for?" Miho described who gave her the picture. Ami nodded.
"Okay, she's talking to Trout about something that I don't know. I'll try finding this boy as I'm sure Nonna is doing much the same thing from what I have gathered." Ami then began to walk away as they were still on a mission, finding who this boy was, they found out who the lady was but now the boy was the second piece to the puzzle. Miho walked off to find Trout.
Trout wasn't too far off as she finished her conversation with said girl. She spotted Miho and walked over to her.
"So how did the match with Kuromorimine go?" Trout asked, she wanted to figure out what happened during the said match.
"Well we managed to beat Kuromorimine with the skin of our teeth. Onee-san's tough and so is the girl she's training but we managed to win. Probably because we had another member on our team to act as bait." Miho replied.
"I know. As long as you claim victory, we're good. Now we should go back to what we usually do." Trout nodded.
"We found out who the girl was and I saw you were talking to her. Any differences with her?" Miho asked Trout if there was anything new about her.
"Aside from her getting very tall, I think she seems to be more relaxed, she isn't as on edge as she used to be and she's still pretty thin. I guess the girl just likes doing her own thing." Trout responded. Momo walked up to Miho.
"Miho we're packing up the team, we're heading back for Ooarai as we're going to make our way back to Japan." Get ready to lead the team back." Momo gave Miho new orders to get the team back to Ooarai.
"Oh I need to get going, Momo's giving me orders to get the team back to the ship, she and the others are preparing the journey back. Hopefully we can chat to each other again." Miho knew she needed to cut the conversation short as she needed to go.
"Take care, let us know when the next tournament is going to be." Trout smiled with a nod as she watched Miho walk away.
Miho and her group were the first to leave as the other schools were packing their stuff up and preparing to leave.
"Well looks like we're going to have a drive back, how was everyone's time here in Vancouver?" Miho asked, she started up her snowmobile for the drive back to the school ship.
"Interesting to say the least. At least we won." Momo replied.
"It was all thanks to Azusa's quick thinking that we managed to win, without the helmets, we wouldn't have taken risks and we would have been eliminated in the first round." Nekota added on.
"Azusa carried the team so far and hopefully we can apply what we learned here to Sensha-Do. Everything is a learning process and we can hopefully apply it all to our lives." Miho laid out goals for the group and what they were going to do and what they learned from this sport could help them out in the future. Miho was the first to drive off with the others falling in behind her with Eleanor group being the last to fall in line.
The drive away from the field was straightforward as they were heading back to their ships, after arriving in the dockyard, they drove up the ramps designed for them as they were now back on Ooarai after days of being off of it.
"Well we're going to say goodbye to Vancouver. We are sorry for leaving." Momoga sighed. But hey, they could probably have another tournament with this sport but they didn't know when, they just hoped it wasn't sometime after February when the snow will melt definitely due to the warmer air coming in and taking over the school.
Many days would pass as Kuromorimine had finished a Sensha-Do match with Pravda with their alliance and the students were chatting away about what they did that winter.
"I've been watching the Vancouver matches with this new sport Momo had concocted on the fly and this seemed to be exciting. I was on the edge of my seat while Kuromorimine fought it out with Ooarai." El began, she was outside of her Panzer 2 as they were walking around and enjoying themselves.
"Well I was on my feet as well, if another snowstorm comes rolling along and Sensha-Do is canceled again, we should have a front seat to this new sport, I want to see how it operates." Pomorie told her friend as they walked along.
"Seems you two are excited to see us make a return to the cold. But we need to practice what we signed up for first, don't let temptation get the best of you." Maho replied to her two friends. They continued to walk around as Half Tracks were towing the knocked out tanks away from the field. Koume walked around the field and spotted something odd. A black object lay in the snow as it had been spared from getting crushed. Koume picked it up and wiped the snow off of it.
"Hey I found something." Koume began. Maho raised her head and she began to walk over to her and figure out what it was.
"What is it?" Maho asked. Koume turned over the black object and she pushed the button on.
"It appears to be somebody's phone. But who does it belong to is the question?" Maho studied the object, then a text popped up. It appeared to be from Kay.
"Kay wants to sleep with this girl that the phone belongs to? Yuck!" Olivia called out as she spotted the text.
"Well at least you're accepting of cuddling and hugs but what Kay wants to do is beyond our boundaries. I guess she's like an animal in heat from what I can gather." Maho told Olivia. Koume was scrolling through the texts as the recipient was speaking in a language that the three of them couldn't understand.
"What is this other girl saying?" Koume asked. "By the tone of it, she sounds angry like she just wants Kay to go away."
"I think that's what she sounds like. And based on the language, I think I know who this phone belongs to." Maho replied. The others were moreover confused as Maho walked away. What she was up to was up to anyone's question. The others watched as the Kuromorimine students walked away.
End of Part 1
[A/N]: A lot of stuff regarding who the boy that gave Miho the picture and the music box for the girl he wants to be with will be answered in the next part as I'm splitting this up into two parts. Second part will be similar but different as in a new setting with hopefully new characters and the relationship I've been building up to.
Also the stuff regarding the last part about the phone, the owner's phone has been revealed in another fanfic and the events that happened beforehand are mentioned there as well.
So what should I do for Part 2. How was Part 1 if I might ask and what more should there be for the second part. I think there should be more. Review what more I could do as I want to do the remaining schools that Ooarai should face off against and develop some of the more minor characters.
I'm just ranting at this point so I'll see you in part 2.
