A/N I'm back! Here to post another chapter! I'm debating on just posting the rest on here because it's all finished and I honestly don't know why I'm bothering to drag it out. There is some mature content in this chapter.

Disclaimer: I don't own Gargoyles or any of its components.

Chapter 8

Brooklyn couldn't believe what he'd just heard. "Right now?" he echoed faintly. Sex with Aimee…right now?! His baser instincts were all screaming yes, yes, yes, claim her now. Trying to grasp onto a shred of sanity he asked again. "Are you absolutely sure about this? Once I start I won't be able to stop until the mating process is complete…that's how it is with us." He whispered.

"I'm sure. I've never wanted anything more." She replied, and slipped her hand under his loincloth to grasp his hard length.

He let out a strangled groan as she touched him and moved to undo the belt fastening this loincloth. He was about to rip the very piece of fabric off when the communicator beeped and Goliath's voice came through startling them apart.

Brooklyn, I apologize but we need you.

He cursed inwardly and grabbed the communicator. "I'm here, what's going on?"

Static and then, fight…Quarrymen attacking us, near the docks, hurry!

"I'm on my way." He clicked off the communicator and turned, regret etched on his face. "I'm so sorry Aimee…I want you so badly…but I need to go help my clan."

She felt flash of disappointment but quickly brushed it off. "I understand Brooklyn." She smiled sincerely. "Go help your family." She reached around and pulled her shirt over her head and retrieved her underwear and pyjama pants, pulling those on as well.

Before she could finish dressing Brooklyn pulled her into a tight hug and spun her around causing her to squeal in laughter. He then pressed a deep, long kiss on her lips. "We'll continue this later." He quipped with a grin.

"Yes, please." Aimee said, a mischievous glint in her eyes. "Now go. Be safe."

"You too." He said, and slipped out into the night.

Aimee took the opportunity then to shower, change into clean underwear and re-dressed the same pyjamas as before. She brushed her teeth and was about to get into bed when she heard a knock at her door.

That's weird, who could that be so late? Thinking it might be Becky she opened it and froze seeing a group of hooded men on the other side.

"Miss Aimee Stone?" said one of them, reading from a piece of paper in his hand. "Mr. John Castaway has requested your prescience. Please come quietly. We'd rather not have to do this the hard way."

A chill ran down her spine as she recognized the the golden hammer printed on their suit jackets, The Quarrymen. Someone must have seen Brooklyn coming into her room and how they had found her. Wordlessly she grabbed her jacket and a pair of slip-on shoes. She watched as one of the men left a folded note on her coffee table.

Brooklyn…I'm so sorry…

She felt her breath catch in her throat, tears threatening to fall as she allowed the men to lead her out of the building into an armoured car. The men were respectful, but terrifying in their dark hoods. She sat in silence, quickly brushing tears away. Stop it, she told herself; Brooklyn would want you to be strong about this.

She resolved herself then to firmly believe that she was going to get out of this. She knew they were using her to get to Brooklyn and she would be damned if she let them get away with it.

After a while they pulled up to the gorgeous, old, tall building. The men led her inside to a sitting room. There was a tea set and a plate of confectionaries on a smooth, brown coffee table. She sat down in an old leather armchair. Her posture was rigid and she refused to touch anything while she waited.

Aimee jumped when she heard the door click open and a well-dressed handsome man with blond slicked-back hair and a neatly trimmed moustache entered the room. "Miss Aimee Stone, I am John Castaway leader of the Quarrymen. I must say it is a pleasure to meet you." The man spoke with a British accent and held his hand out toward her.

She declined his handshake and silently glared at him from where she sat.

He dropped his hand and sat down in the chair adjacent to hers. "Yes, fine. I realize this was a bit of a rude awakening but we needed to use all the resources at our disposal to eliminate the those creatures." He picked up the teapot and poured himself a cup. "Tea?" he asked her.

Ignoring his question she spat. "Do you even hear yourself? The Gargoyles have done nothing but try to help the people of this city. They save people everyday, that's how I-" she stopped, realizing she was about to reveal how she met Brooklyn.

"Ah, yes, the red Gargoyle. I'm assuming he 'saved' your life. That's all very sweet." He slammed his fist onto the table causing the tea set to clatter violently. "You have no idea what these monsters are capable of, you've been brainwashed, just like the policewoman." He said, "She was untouchable…but you. You're something else." He leered.

She flinched at his sudden movement. This was a very unstable man she was dealing with. He was clearly blinded by his hatred and anger for Gargoyles. She would have to be very, very careful with how she responded to him. "It's not going to work." She knew it was cliché but added. "You're not going to get away with this."

John flashed her sickly grin. "Oh my dear…this is the perfect plan. Your Gargoyle friend won't be able to resist coming to your rescue and when he does, we'll be waiting…" He clenched his fist and drew it up causing her to become paralyzed with fear. "I will eliminate those monsters once and for all."

Feeling brave she said, "The only monster I see here is you."

He smirked, "You'll see differently, everyone will when I expose those creatures for what they truly are. Thank you for doing your part in helping to eliminate the Gargoyle menace."

She had to know one thing: "How did you find me?" she asked evenly.

"We have eyes everywhere, it was not difficult to spot him sneaking into your room, he went several times in the past week." John replied, casually sipping his tea. "Were you two close? Friends or something more…?"

She could feel herself quickly losing her cool. "It's none of your business." She spat.

Seemingly unfazed he added, "He was there for quite a while. My men had to stage a disturbance over at the docks just to drag him out of there."

Her eyes widened as she remembered the call coming through. "It was you…"

"My men also recalled hearing some very interesting sounds from behind your door." He continued with a somewhat nauseated expression on his face.

Aimee's face burned but she said nothing, staying rooted to her spot.

His calm demeanour faded as he suddenly stood grabbing both her arms and roughly pulling her up out of the chair. He held her very close so they were now face-to-face. "You must hate yourself to let such a filthy creature lay their hands on you." he sneered.

Anger flashed in her eyes as she defiantly stared straight back. "I regret nothing." She hissed.

He release one of her arms and dragged her over to the ornate wooden door. "Despite acting like a harlot my dear, you will not be harmed…yet." He tapped on the door and it opened. "Take her." He said, shoving her in their direction. "Make sure she's 'comfortable'."

Aimee soon found herself in a small room not unlike a jail cell. There was a cot, toilet and a sink, thick metal bars covered the entrance. Guards were posted outside and there was no chance of escape. Still seething at his earlier comments she stalked around the cell. Please find me Brooklyn…and don't you dare die! She hated that they were using her like this.

Calming down some, she remembered their amazing time together earlier. She felt a lump forming in her throat as the events of the day came crashing down. She laid on the small cot in the corner and curled herself into a ball. Finally the tears fell. She wept for Brooklyn, picturing him coming to her apartment and finding her gone. She also wept for her father; if anything were to happen to her he'd be crushed. Finally, she cried for her best friend Becky who had been there for her most of her life. It was hard not to think of her situation being hopeless because in this moment it certainly felt that way.

"This is all my fault." She whispered into the darkness.

There was something odd about the fight Brooklyn was called to. The Quarrymen all seemed to be terrible shots that night. They were definitely outnumbered but once Brooklyn showed up it was like half of them suddenly disappeared. The rest that stayed seemingly allowed themselves to be knocked out and captured.

Standing on a rooftop in the aftermath he turned to the others he said. "Didn't that seem off to you?"

"Off how?" Broadway asked.

"Like they weren't even trying," Angela piped up. "Once Brooklyn got here they disbanded pretty quickly. Almost as if they were waiting for him."

Goliath thought for a moment. "It is suspicious. The Quarrymen have been silent for weeks and now this. Tell me, were you with Aimee when we called you?"

"Yes…" Brooklyn answered carefully, hoping there were no questions on the details surrounding his visit.

"It's almost as if this entire fight was…" Goliath began.

"A distraction!" Lexington said. "Brooklyn you gotta get back to Aimee's!"

A horrified expression dawned on his face as he prepared to take off. "We gotta go! Follow me!"

The five of them made haste to Aimee's apartment. To his absolute dismay, it was empty. "Aimee? Aimee!" Brooklyn called a few times, refusing to believe she was gone. "Nononono!" He panicked checking all the areas.

"Look! I found something." Lexington said, pointing to the note.

Brooklyn grabbed the note and read it. Eyes blazing he dropped it and stalked outside punching the concrete wall with a roar. "She's gone...they fuckin' took her!"

Goliath picked up the note and immediately saw the logo bearing a stylized Q and the signature Quarrymen hammer printed in gold. They were requesting that they all turn themselves over in exchange for her life. They had 24 hours to comply. He gave a low growl and crumpled the note. "I must contact Elisa." To Brooklyn he said. "We will get Aimee back, I swear it." He then took off into the night.

Brooklyn had dropped to his knees, fists clenched. "They better not fuckin' touch her." He growled.

Broadway and Lexington exchanged sad glances. "Hey…Brooklyn, Goliath's right, we will get her back."

"You guys don't get it…" Brooklyn said brokenly, placing his hands on the floor. "Before I got called…we were about to…she was about to give herself to me." He wiped an angry tear away. "I love her…" He whispered and added. "This is all my fault."

"C'mon bud," Broadway said, grabbing his arm to help him back to his feet. "Don't blame yourself, it could've happened to any of us. We need to start making plans to get her back."

"Yeah," Lexington added, "Aimee wouldn't want you to be feeling sorry for yourself. Broadway's right. Let's get home and re-group."

Brooklyn sniffed and furiously rubbed his eyes. "You guys are right. I gotta be strong…for her."

Angela softly touched his arm. "I'm sure your mate will be alright Brooklyn. I can understand how you feel. If it was Broadway who was taken I'd rip through hell and back to rescue him."

"Thanks Angela. Let's get going." He carefully shut her sliding glass doors and flew off with the others.

When they arrived Elisa was already there discussing the matter with Goliath.

"This is going to require some careful investigation. I wish you hadn't crumpled up the note. I need to get this to evidence." She said with a disapproving glance.

"My apologies Elisa, I was overcome. Brooklyn has come to care very deeply for the girl." Goliath's voice rumbled.

Detective Elisa Maza turned to the Gargoyle in question, her face sympathetic. "I'm so sorry Brooklyn, a bunch of cowards they all are."

"Doesn't matter Elisa. We're going to get her back." He said, his voice eerily calm.

She nodded in agreement. "Yes, I'll get my officers out on it immediately. We'll search during the day. I'll be back tomorrow night with any new developments."

"Thanks Elisa." Brooklyn said.

"Of course, I ran a quick background check on her. Did you know who her dad was?" Elisa asked.

"Yeah, we talked about it tonight actually. I was pretty surprised." He admitted.

"Well, we are going to have to contact him, especially if she's still not found by tomorrow evening." Elisa said.

"Do what you gotta do." Brooklyn said roughly. "I'll find her and I'm gonna make them pay…" he stalked off to the castle balcony.

It was nearly dawn. The others had made their way outside as well. Lex was excitedly telling Broadway about some infrared technology he was developing. He was hopeful that it could help them locate Aimee.

Brooklyn was grateful but he was still far too angry to comment. Be strong Aimee…I will find you. This was his final thought as he turned to stone.

Aimee had managed to get some sleep. There were no windows so she had no idea what time of day it was. There was food waiting for her in a covered dish on the floor. It must have been sitting there for a while because everything was cold.

Figuring she needed to keep her strength up she ate as much as she could. It was mostly breakfast type foods; the cold oatmeal was hard to stomach.

She wished she could change out of her pyjamas. She really didn't like wearing one set of clothes for too long. It made her feel icky and gross.

She wondered back to Brooklyn, would today be the day he'd find her? She hoped he knew he'd be walking straight into a trap. She hated that he was putting himself in danger because of her, because he chose to love her…

Love? She was a bit shocked. She did not want to admit that her feelings were that strong. It was too soon right? The more she thought about it the more she couldn't deny it. It was love, she knew because her heart swelled at the thought of seeing him again and broke as she imagined him getting hurt or worse trying to rescue her.

Unfortunately all she could do was bide her time and wait. It was going to be a while…

The next night the Gargoyles were quickly making plans. Unfortunately Elisa and the police had failed to locate Aimee.

During the day the Quarrymen headquarters had been thoroughly searched with no sign of her. John Castaway had been most sympathetic about that poor girl. However he denied having anything to do with her disappearance. Elisa just found herself getting more and more frustrated with his pompous ass.

"I know you have her," Elisa glared. "Some friends of mine are pretty upset right now. It is in your best interest to just give her up, no harm no foul."

"Why detective, are you threatening me?" Castaway said in mock-distress. "I assure you, I have nothing to do with the girl's disappearance."

Sighing in frustration and pinching the bridge of her nose she admitted defeat. They weren't going to get anywhere with him. She'd have to leave it to the Gargoyles. "Let's go." She said to her partner Matthew Bluestone.

She sat in the drivers seat frustrated. "That pretentious prick. I know he's hiding her." She sighed. "I feel like I've failed Brooklyn."

"Chin up partner, you did your best. He's a tough nut to crack." Her partner said with a good-natured smile.

"Thanks, Matt." Elisa said returning a small smile. "It's up to the Gargoyles now, hopefully they'll have better luck than us."

Later that night Lexington was working furiously at his computer, he'd heard from Elisa that they searched the entire Quarrymen building with no luck but that doesn't mean she couldn't still be there. They needed something that would penetrate through walls.

"Hold on I'm gonna go ask Xanatos something." Lex said.

He dashed out of the room before anyone could stop him.

He found Xanatos in his son's room. The man smiled upon seeing him.

"Lexington, to what do I owe the pleasure?" Xanatos asked, and offered Alex who was reaching out to Lexington.

"Hey Alex," Lex cooed giving the baby a tickle on his belly. He turned to Xanatos and said. "I need to talk to you about something, not sure if you heard but Brooklyn's uh…girlfriend got taken by the Quarrymen. They're demanding we turn ourselves in and they'll release her. Elisa's had no luck locating her either."

"That's terrible Lexington, what can I do to help?" Xanatos asked, looking genuinely concerned.

"I've been researching infrared technology and I believe the technology could be modified to allow us to see through solid objects. We believe they must be holding Aimee in some secret area." Lexington finished.

Xanatos thought for a moment. "I think I have something that could help with that." He left Lex, still cuddling Alex and returned about ten minutes later. He handed a pair of futuristic-looking goggles to him.

"Wow, these are perfect." Lexington exclaimed.

Xanatos chuckled. "I expect those back, they're an experimental prototype."

Lex handed baby Alex back to him. "You got it, I think you just tipped the scales in our favour." He grinned.

"Anything for a friend of Alex." Xanatos said with a smile. What he didn't tell Lex is that the goggles also contained surveillance capabilities. He was going to listen in on their rescue attempt just in case things went sour.

Lex flounced back to where the others were waiting for him. Brooklyn was impatiently stalking around the castle much like a caged lion.

"Guys! We can use these." Lexington said, placing the goggles on his head and clicking them on. His vision was now infrared and he saw not only his clan-mates inside the castle but he could see the outlines of Goliath and Elisa conversing outside. These would definitely work for locating Aimee.

"Okay let's go over the plan one more time." Broadway said. "Castaway wants us to turn ourselves in on the rooftop of the Quarrymen building. Lex and Brooklyn are going to infiltrate from underground. Lex is gonna use those fancy goggles of his to try and locate where they're keeping Aimee. The rest of us are on standby until the actual meeting time. If she is not found by then…" he trailed off.

"We will present ourselves to the Quarrymen." Goliath finished for him.

"No. I'll do it." Brooklyn said. "I'm not gonna put the rest of you in danger. I'll get him to trade me for her…" Brooklyn stated, using a tone that left no room for discussion.

Goliath nodded in agreement. "Then it is settled. Brooklyn, Lexington, I have contacted Talon, he will meet you underground and lead you to the location of the Quarrymen building. Keep your communicators on at all times."

They both gave him a firm nod and spread their wings, flying to the street below. They easily located a manhole cover and scrambled inside, closing it behind them.

They descended the ladder and waited for Talon.

Brooklyn rubbed his arms. "Ugh, I hate being underground. Gives me the creeps."

"Don't worry Brooklyn, I'm sure the rumours about giant alligators and rats are just a myth…" Lexington teased.

Even Brooklyn had to chuckle at that. "What about giant turtles?"

A new voice cut in as Talon, the winged Mutate came into view. "Now those I think could be a definite possibility, he grinned." He wasn't alone, his mate Maggie had joined him as well.

Brooklyn greeted them both with a wave. It's funny, at one time he'd had a major crush on her but now he could see how much better it was to have a girl that actually reciprocated his feelings.

"Follow us." Talon said, and pressed on through the sewers.

Sometime later they ended up at what looked like a service elevator. "This is directly below the Quarrymen building." Talon explained. "It is still used for maintenance. I do not know where it leads."

Lex grinned, "that's why we have these." He said gesturing to his goggles.

"Thanks for the help Talon, nice to see you Maggie." Brooklyn said.

The female bowed her head slightly. "Be careful Brooklyn. I hope your mate is unharmed."

"Me too Maggie, because I don't know what I'm gonna do if she isn't." he said in a low threatening voice.

Lex shivered slightly, Brooklyn protecting a mate was something else. He hoped he would be able to keep his cool on their mission. He managed to get the elevator doors to open and they stepped in.

"Take care my friends." Talon said. "We are here if you require assistance."

The two Gargoyles nodded as the doors closed. As the elevator ascended, Lex put the goggles over his eyes and clicked them on. At first he could see nothing but thick concrete all around them. Once the elevator arrived at the floor he could see though the doors before they opened. "Coast is clear." He said.

He and Brooklyn exited the elevator. They were in the basement now of the Quarrymen building. There wasn't much down there, a lot of dusty furniture, boxes and filing cabinets. Lex looked all around the room. "She's not down here." He said.

Brooklyn noticed a set of stairs. "Guess we keep going up then."

They walked up the set of stairs into what looked still looked like a basement. There was more stuff being stored but no doors just another set of stairs continuing up.

Brooklyn was about to open the door leading to the next floor when Lexington stopped him. "Wait! There's people behind that door." He whispered.

Taking the goggles from Lex and fitting them over his own eyes, Brooklyn could see there indeed were a couple people there. They appeared to be male and did not carry the signature hammer. "Let's just quickly knock them out." Brooklyn whispered back. "Ready?"

"Ready." Lex replied. The two of them burst through the door and took the men by surprised. They quickly incapacitated them and pulled them into a closet out of sight. Now that they were alone they could see they were finally on the first floor of the building. there were hallways with many doors. Lex who had taken the goggles back was able to look and see if and how many people were behind them. Besides the three they had just taken care of, there weren't many others.

He had noticed there were several settings on these goggles. Besides the one that let him see heat signatures through walls one was a blue light that allowed him to see recent footsteps. Another showed what he could only assume to be oily residue from human hands.

They walked through the floor checking doors. Most of them were empty. However, one caught Lex's eye. There was quite a lot of foot traffic going in and out through a certain set of doors. When they entered the room the footsteps disappeared into the wall.

A hidden door, smart. Now if they could just find the way in. There was a bookshelf in front of the wall. Brooklyn raised an eye-ridge. "It can't be that simple can it?" he scoffed.

"Let me look closer…" Lex said switching to another setting. He noticing one of the books had been touched many times more than the others. "I actually think it can." He pulled the book and the bookshelf slid into the wall revealing a passageway.

Brooklyn and Lex carefully stepped in and Lex closed the door behind them. Giving each other a wary look, they continued on. Lexington looked ahead switching back to the heat signature setting. "People coming up." He whispered, they two of them could hear talking.

"God, this being a guard business is fricken boring." They heard one complain.

"Yeah, and it's cold and damp down here." The other replied with a whine.

"How much longer now?" The one asked.

"Castaway said we need to wait until 5am. Then we're to bring the girl up."

It was pretty obvious they were referring to Aimee. Brooklyn was ready to jump in there and rip them apart but Lex held him back. "Wait, let's see what else they have to say…" he whispered.

"You really think he's going to stay true to his word and let her go?"

"Word is she fucked a Gargoyle, that's pretty much a death sentence in Castaway's eyes."

Brooklyn's eyes flashed white. He'd heard enough. With a fierce roar he tore over to the men. He threw one into the concrete wall and pulled the other up by the collar of his uniform. "Where. Is. She?" He snapped, barely able to contain his rage.

"Holy shit, please don't kill me!" the man cried nearing wetting himself.

"Then tell me what I want to know…" Brooklyn snarled.

"Ahead of me, they're keeping her locked up there!" He stammered.

Brooklyn threw him to the floor. Lex took the opportunity to give him a punch to the head, knocking him out.

They went further, the room opened up. He could see bars. There were several cells in a row. "Aimee?" he called.

He heard a sniff and a small voice called out.

"Brooklyn?"

A/N Yay rescue scene, so tell me should I just post the rest of the chapters?
