The next day, Tarzana grabs similar looking flowers, that she saw in the image, that she found in the jungle. When she has all the flowers gathered she weaves them into her curl locks. She thinks that John will like her attempt of human courting. After she is done she runs off through the jungle heading for the human camp. Tantor and Terk watch as she leaves. Tantor is happy that she found someone.
Tantor: Oh, Terk, I've never seen her so happy.
Terk pouts as she looks on hurt. She is happy that Tarzana has found more of her own kind, but she is sad that she isn't spending any time with her. She also knows that Tarzana won't be able to keep up the charade much longer.
Terk: Eh, I give it a week.
Tarzana has a smile on her face until she reaches the camp. She frowns in confusion upon seeing several men in the camp. A ship has arrived as well as the crew. They are packing the camping gear because it's the last day to visit Africa.
Thug #1: Aye, cut her loose!
Thug #2: Argh, c'mon.
The tent falls to the ground as other people take other items and carry them to the ship.
Thug #1: Alright, move it, you field rats. (The ship horn blows.) Put your back into it.
They keep on packing trying to leave nothing in the clearing. Tarzana walks further into camp confused as to why there are so many humans here. She looks for any familiar faces before seeing Porter chase after a man carrying some of his research books.
Porter: Wait, please. Don't...I've waited 30 years for this, and I won't leave until I see a gorilla. (He looks at Tarzana, spotting her in the chaos.) Oh, isn't this dreadful, Tarzana? (He shrinks in disappointment before he gets tangled by a pole and carried off.) Woah! No, no. Wait.
A man rolls several barrels by Tarzana who jumps on them to get out of the way. As she does so a few flowers fall from her hair. She then goes to the edge of the jungle to watch as the entire camp gets packed up. Tarzana ears perk up as she hears a familiar deep voice and looks to where it came from. She sees Clayton and John talking to a man in a uniform.
Clayton: You're the captain. Just tell them you've had engine trouble and give us two more days.
Gerald: And be late at every port from here to London?
John attempts to plead with the captain.
John: We'll have to come all this way for nothing.
Gerald: I'm sorry, Mister Porter, but I simply can't do it.
Clayton exclaims in frustration.
Clayton: Argh! This is your fault. (He points accusingly at John before pacing back and forth.) I should've followed my instincts and set traps for the beasts.
John throws in one of his shirts into his suitcase in frustration before shutting it close.
John: Don't you think I'm disappointed about the gorillas? (He picks up his suitcase and starts to walk off.) You are absolutely imposi- (John gasps as he bumps into Tarzana. Most of the flowers that she had in her hair have now fallen off. Only a single flower remains.) Oh! Tarzana! (He says to her in relief.) I was so afraid that you wouldn't come in time. The boat's arrived, the boat that's come to take us home, to England. (Tarzana looks at him confused.) And Father and I were wonder-well, I was wondering...well, we really hoped that you'll come with us. Won't you?
John asks her nicely, hoping that she will come. When he first arrived in Africa to research gorillas with his father he never expected to find love. Especially not in a woman who had no knowledge that other humans existed. Tarzana mulls it over in her head. She however doesn't understand the concept of leaving.
Tarzana: Go see England today, come home tomorrow. (She smiles enthusiastically at John.)
John is cautious as he speaks, making sure to choose his words carefully.
John: Oh, no. Well, you see, it would be very difficult to come back...ever.
Tarzana looks at him crestfallen.
Tarzana: Not come back? (She really wants to be with John, but this is her home. All of her family is here. Not to mention it is all she has ever known. John tries to comfort her as he tries to convince her to come along.)
John: Oh, no no no. I know it sounds awful, but you belong with us. With people.
Tarzana then gets into position just like the slideshow had. She gently places one hand on John's chest and the other on his shoulder. She looks up at her hair and notices that the last flower in her hair is about to fall out, so she quickly pushes it back into place then puts her hands back where they were on John. She leans close to John looking into his eyes.
Tarzana: John, must stay with Tarzana!
John: What? Stay here? (His suitcase falls open spilling all of his laundry to the ground.) Oh, no no. My laundry. (He begins to pick them back up and place them back into the suitcase.) No, I can't stay. Look, I've got-I'm with my father and...
Tarzana tries once more to have John stay by touching his cheek.
Tarzana: John, stay.
John: But...
She takes the flower from her hair and offers it to him as a last ditch effort.
Tarzana: Please.
John sighs in frustration. He'd love to stay but they both belong with humans in England.
John: But...I can't...
As John runs away clenching his fists in self-loathing, Clayton scoffs after watching the moment then chuckles. Tarzana looks over to him somewhat confused. He is leaning against a crate looking smug.
Clayton: Men! How typical! (He grabs two wine glasses and a bottle of wine. He walks up to Tarzana.) Thank you, Jones. Even if you hadn't grown up a savage, you'd be lost. (Clayton pours wine into both cups and hands one to her. He snatches the flower from her hand before he slings an arm around her shoulder bringing her close to him.) There are no trails through a man's heart.
Tarzana looks downcast as she speaks.
Tarzana: John is going.
Clayton speaks up as he walks away motioning his hands.
Clayton: Yes. If only he could've spent more time with the gorillas. He's so disappointed. Crushed, really. (He walks back over to Tarzana.) Sorry, old girl. (He clinks the glasses together and drinks his wine. Tarzana stares at the drink but doesn't drink.) Oh, well. (As a clock is moved by two men, Clayton and Tarzana place their glasses down on it.) I'd best get John's things to the ship. (He closes John's suitcase before lifting it onto his shoulder and walking off.)
An idea comes to her head, so she speaks up.
Tarzana: Clayton! (Clayton stops when she calls to him, smirking knowing his manipulation was working.) If John sees gorillas, he stays? (She ask skeptically. Clayton turns back to look at her.)
Clayton: Say, that's why he came, isn't it?
A thoughtful expression comes to her face.
Tarzana: I'll do it.
Clayton: Good woman! (Clayton claps her on the shoulder in glee.) Snipes?
Snipes: Sir?
Clayton hands Snipes John's suitcase.
Clayton: Get the boys together. There's gonna be a change in plans.
Snipes grins evilly at the unspoken plan.
Acting upon her plan, Tarzana heads into the jungle to get some help from her animal friends. She runs most of the way to the nesting grounds when she spots her cousin and Tantor hanging out together. Tantor reminds silent for the moment allowing the two cousins to talk.
Tarzana: Hey Terk! How's my favorite cousin?
Terk: Oh no. I'm not listening.
Tarzana: But you don't even know what I'm gonna ask about.
Terk: Don't know, don't care. I see that look in your eye and can tell your up to know good.
Tarzana: Oh come on Terk. Just here me out.
Terk: Nope! Not happening.
Tarzana: Please. I want to bring John, Porter, and Clayton to see the family.
Terk: Oh really? And how do you think that'll go. "Hey Kerchak! Meet the humans I was supposed to avoid whom I smuggled into the nesting grounds so they could see us!" That's rich. He'll run them out of there before you can say "I'm sorry".
Terk climbs down a tree while Tarzana tree surf's.
Tarzana: Terk, all you have to do is get Kerchak out of the way. If he's not there, then there'll be no issue.
Shocked by her idea, Terk falls onto Tantor's back.
Terk: What?!
Tantor: I'd be happy to get Kerhcak... (Terk silences him by grabbing his trunk.)
Tarzana holds onto a vine while following her friends.
Terk: Shut your trunk and get me outta here. (Tantor walks off while Terk rants.) Can you believe that girl? Drops us like a newborn giraffe...kerplop! Now waltzes in here and expects us to just... (She pauses as Tarzana drops down onto Tantor's back.)
Tarzana: Terk, I'm asking you as a friend and cousin.
Her face pleading for help, giving puppy dog eyes.
Terk: Aah! Doh! With the face and the eyes, and the... (She looks at Tarzana's innocent look.) Aah! Alright! You just had to play the cousin card, huh? But don't make me do anything embarrassing. (She wags her finger while speaking.)
A few moments later, Terk bursts through some bushes wearing a suit.
Terk: I'm gonna kill her!
Tantor uses his trunk as a puppet version of Porter.
Tantor: A-Actually, I thought that suit was rather slimming on you.
Terk: Oh, really? I thought it was a little tight and kind of...
But before she can continue, they hear Kerchak roar, making them run in fright.
Terk: How does he move in this thing?
Tantor shouts in feel using his trunk puppet to move around scared.
Tantor: AAHHHH!
Terk: Look out!
With that, Kerchak chases the distraction across the jungle on some wild goose chase. As for Tarzana, she is leading John, his father and Clayton to where her family lives.
