Kala is at the nesting grounds waiting for Tarzana to come home. She twirls a flower in her hand looking at it sadly. She then hears a twig snap. Kala turns her head in the direction of the sound. Tarzana climbs up to the nesting grounds. Kala sees her daughter in the distance and smiles. She gets up and starts to walk over to her a slightly relieved look to her face. Tarzana then helps John up to the grounds a loving smile on her face. Upon seeing the strange human on their land, Kala stops walking and jerks back shocked. Tarzana holds John's hand guiding him closer. Porter comes up beside them while Clayton makes it up to the grounds himself.
John: Oh, look, Father.
John points into the jungle.
Porter: What? Wha-John!
Porter looks around to see what his son is pointing at before his eyes widen in awe. They walk a little closer to Kala. She backs away frightened.
Clayton: Be careful, Professor.
John looks at Kala in awestruck wonder. Tarzana looks to John happy that he thinks her mom is pretty.
John: She's beautiful.
Tarzana: She's my mother.
John looks to her confused.
John: But...this is your...mother.
Kala looks between the young man and her daughter. Tarzana starts chatting like a gorilla to her.
Tarzana: Mama, these are my friends.
Kala: You shouldn't have brought them here.
Tarzana: But Mama, they are kind people.
Kala: Are you sure you're not just talking about the young one? I can see the way you look at him.
Tarzana: It's not just him.
Tarzana responds shyly.
Kala: Oh really? A mother always knows. He will be a fine mate for you.
Tarzana blushes at her mother's comment.
Tarzana: Mama! I'm not to that point yet... I do like him though. Will you meet him?
Her mother then backs away in fear at the thought of meeting the humans.
Porter: What, what, what's happening?
John: I don't know, Father. (Kala goes to hide in the trees.)
Clayton goes to chase after Kala.
Clayton: Oh, it's getting away!
John stops him.
John: No! You'll only frighten her more.
Clayton glares at John, angry with him. Tarzana keeps on chatting; John joins her starting to chat like a gorilla.
Porter: Oh, yes. Absolutely. My boy. Good idea.
Porter joins in trying to call the gorillas out. Clayton looks to them like they are crazy. He yells at them in frustration.
Clayton: What are you doing here? Do you want to frighten them off? Get up! Get... (He sees something in the trees.) Don't get up.
As they all look around the, the gorillas all look at the newcomers with curious expressions. John stands up taking in the sight before him. Dozens of gorillas are in the trees.
Porter: Ah.
Porter faints in shock. Clayton begins to smirk as their search for the gorillas was successful. Just then, some babies come up to John and start chittering. John crouches down, closer to the ground.
John: Hello.
One of the babies decides to come closer to John pounding his chest. He starts spinning around before falling onto John's lap. John chuckles at the baby gorillas' attempt of intimidation.
John: Ooh. It's very nice to meet you too.
Tarzana smiles that her family likes her human friends. As she focuses on John, the other gorillas go to greet the professor but start sniffing him first. Porter laughs in his unconscious state.
Porter: Oh, Your Majesty, you're such a tease. (He shouts out awakening from his dream as he's lifted by the leg.) Hello? Hello! Uh, Archimedes Q. Porter, at your service. (He holds out his hand for the gorillas to shake. Aah! (He exclaimed as he's gripped a little roughly by the hand. The gorilla places him back on the ground.) Quite a grip you've had. (Porter chuckles at the gorilla.) Oh, thank you. (One of the gorillas starts to groom him. He finds a bug in Porter's hair.) Is that one of mine? (Upon seeing this, the other gorillas chitter and groom him as well.) Oh, this is wonderful, Mister Clayton! Look! Look! Social grooming.
Uninterested Clayton calls over his shoulder.
Clayton: Congratulations, Professor. (He draws on the map in his hand showing the way to the gorilla nesting grounds placing a huge 'X' where they had arrived.) Our dream has come true.
Just then, a gorilla tries to take the map from Clayton.
Clayton: Give me that! (A different gorilla above Clayton now tries to take the map as well). Hey, stop that! (The first gorilla snatches the pen from Clayton's hand while the one that was above him manages to grab the map.) Stop! (Another gorilla curiously grabs the rifle from his back holster and examines it.) Hold on, now! Leave that! That is not to be played with!
Back over with John and Tarzana, John chuckles as the baby gorillas climb on him and play with his hair. The babies turn to see Tarzana coming closer. They run to her in joy. She starts playing with the baby gorillas. Tarzana giggles while the babies "attack" her. John looks at Tarzana adoringly. He finds it cute how she is playing with the baby gorillas. He comes up to her and sits beside her.
John: Can you teach me?
Tarzana uses her foot to hand one of the babies over to John.
Tarzana: Speak gorilla?
He holds the baby on his lap and watches her.
John: Uh-huh, yes.
She smiles that he wants to learn her language. Tarzana places the other two babies on the ground so she can focus on John. The baby gorillas stick by Tarzana curious as they watch the event unfold.
Tarzana: Ooh-ooh-ee.
John: Ooh-ooh-ee.
Tarzana: Eh-ooh.
John: Eh-ooh.
Tarzana: Ooh.
John: Ooh.
Tarzana: Ooh.
John: Ooh.
Tarzana: Ooh. (She places her hand on John's face and pinches his cheeks closer together, so his mouth makes more of an "o" shape.)
John: Ooh. (He laughs at her attempt to correct his pronunciation. He then forms a sentence with the words Tarzana has taught him.) Ooh-ooh-ee-eh-ooh.
With that said, the baby gorillas chitter enthusiastically. Tarzana has a huge smile on her face. Kala comes out from her hiding place to watch her daughter and potential mate. One of the babies climbs onto John's shoulder and looks at him happy.
John: Good heavens! What did I say?
He hugs the baby gorilla. Tarzana brings her hand up his face and gently caresses it.
Tarzana: That John stays with Tarzana.
John looks to her slightly taken aback.
John: Stay? But I thought we'd already-Tarzana...
Tarzana looks to John confused. She thought that once he saw her family that he would stay like Clayton had told her.
