Kaminari clicked his pen in and out. It was almost the end of the day and after a tough week of classes he was exhausted. Kaminari did good work in tests which involved his quirk or combat however his biggest weakness was the academic side of things. He wasn't dumb but he struggled to get the information to stick in his head when there were so many other things to think about. His thoughts were interrupted by the sound of the bell as looked up from his desk.

"Class dismissed...and remember about the test next week." Kaminari froze and went a little white.

"Crap…" He muttered under his breath. He looked around but no one else seemed all too worried. Even people who came below him on other tests seemed to look confident about it. Not wanting to stand out he did the same. Kaminari often tried to act confident to look cool. While not his main goal in school or life he did want to be somewhat popular and while he knew the other students in his class well enough to know most of them would not say anything if he admitted he was struggling, part of him still didn't want them to know. In past tests he had scraped though and once he and a group of his classmates had gone to Yaoyorozu's house to study and while it had helped him get a better grade it had made him uncomfortable going to a house so posh as course they all were in the dorms now but he still didn't want to ask her for help. For starters he didn't mind Yaoyorozu but everything from the way she spoke to the exotic and expensive tea she drank was so out of his own world. Not only that but this time was different as he would be the only one asking for help which would make him stand out like a sore thumb.

"Earth to Kaminari, are you there?" he heard a familiar voice call out in a soft chuckle. "Or are you just going to keep staring at the wall?" Jiro stood looking at him with a smirk. He laughed, had to keep up the act of coolness after all.
"Yeah of course I am, just thinking of what I am gonna be doing tonight." That most certainly was not half as cool as he had thought it would be. His feet started moving before he could say anything else as he walked away from her. He liked Jiro, she seemed to have more of a sense of humour then the rest of the class, even if she could make him the butt of the joke at times though he didn't mind it. While the others would be worried or laugh at him when he short circuited Jiro was differant. Sure she laughed but it was… well a different laugh. She found it funny but not because it was a sign he had failed to keep his cool in combat but because she seemed to like watching him in his dumb state. It was said dumb state and his bad grades which had lead to him being seen as somewhat the class idoit but he was far from that and by her witty remarks he could tell Jiro saw that. In many ways that would have made her a good study partner however it would be so uncool to ask her infront of everyone. A lightbulb clicked in his head. When they had started the first year at U.A. the class had gone round and gotten the numbers of people they liked so they could chat when they were out of school hours. Kaminari had gotten Bakugo's and Kirishima's but that was about it.
However once Midoriya had gotten in trouble in Hosu City, news about how he got Todoroki to come to his aid had spread. As a result every student had given their numbers out in case anything like that ever happened again. Because of this he had Jiro's number in his phone. He could text her.

As he walked back to the dorm he tried to think of what to say. He didn't want to appear desperate for her help, even though she was friendly he would no doubt never hear the end of it if he acted desperate. On the other hand he didn't really want to play it cool, it could come off as flirty which would ruin any chance of getting her help. As he reached the dorm he walked up to his room and closed the door. He smiled as he entered. A place he could be himself at room reflected him in many ways. When they had judged each other's rooms someone had said it looked full of random things. In some ways this was right as it was a little messy but on the other hand it was very similar to his mind, always full of ideas. He sat back on his bed and thought for a moment. He would just have to go for it and text her, if she said no he would half to hope she didn't gossip about how he had admitted he needed help.

"Hey Jiro, you good? Look I don't know how to ask this really but would you be up to help me study a little for next week's test? I think I am gonna fail it" His heart felt heavy as his thumb hovered over send. He had rewritten it 5 times before settling on this and with a gulp he pressed send. A few minutes passed with it left unseen. He didn't mind this and he started playing a game on PC but then his phone Buzzed.

"Seriously? Me? I got 7th in the midterms, why not ask one of the others?" He chuckled a little at the reply. Classic Jiro, putting herself down. He took a while to respond as he crafted his message. He found texting easier than talking as it gave himself time to set up his reply however that didn't mean he found it easy. Eventually he replied.

"Idk, You didn't do terrible though, not as bad as me at least. Besides the others are nice and all but we both share an interest in playing music so I thought you could talk about that once we are done" In contrast to his own reply he almost instantly got back a small gif of a laughing cute cat.

"Really? You play music?" Almost without thinking he replied

"Yeah, electric guitar, I used headphones so as not to deafen the rest of you in the dorm block, I can bring it down to the common room and play it if you don't believe me"

"Alright then, if you charge my phone while we study, you can show me if you can actually play it" He smiled and laughed. His classmates would often use him a a charger due to his quirk and normally it was a little annoying but it seemed a fair price to pay for free tutoring. It had gone a lot better than he expected, maybe, just maybe he would not fail this test if Jiro could help him. He packed up his books into a back and slung his electric guitar over his shoulder as he closed the door behind him, feeling much better then when he entered it.
