While Naruto and Asura talked in the library, Boruto talked with Naruto inside his workshop that was in the basement.
There were multiple floors beneath the Palace where the research labs and workshops were present. At the bottom floor was the bunker for protection with everything that was needed.
Boruto was inside his workshop when he was playing games in his room or hanging out with his friends and siblings.
He didn't like the quiet atmosphere of the library and got everything in his room or the workshop. Boruto sent drones to get him the things that he required or his shadow clones.
He would rarely sit in the library.
Now he was working on some improvements to his weaponry and armor. He needed more speed, higher reaction, more firepower and defense.
They had never really fought before because of their father but he had been aware that Asura and Shuten were above him in power since he had seen their recordings for study.
In that bout he had forgotten about the difference and the one sided beating had only brought him rage, not understanding.
Now he was in his normal state of mind so he was going through everything again and aiming to counter the skills of his brother.
It wasn't vengeance related anymore since he felt that he deserved what he got. He had been acting too rude towards his own father. He was lucky that Naruto was so kind or he might be getting dunked in ice cold water and getting his skin shredded.
So, once again he was focused on being the best. He couldn't sit down and let his younger siblings surpass him.
He had anxiety from not being able to surpass his father already and the siblings going higher made it worse, so he could only fight against it.
"I am happy that you are overcoming your problem but it doesn't seem like you have truly understood your situation." Naruto looked around the place and took a seat.
He was happy that his children had their own lives and weren't lost, most of the time. They weren't depressed or struggling with dark thoughts, where death was always an option in the mind.
They were all happy and fulfilled, even if life of being his children wasn't easy.
Boruto was sitting opposite of Naruto and hadn't touched his equipment yet since it would be rude. He was aware Naruto knew everything about him.
He considered Naruto to be a control type individual, someone who liked everything being in the palm of their hands. It was an opinion backed by facts about his father.
It was good but it definitely brought him pressure sometimes.
"I don't think you understand my problem." Boruto believed that Naruto had everything under control but he didn't believe that Naruto understood him. What he was going through was something Naruto never even saw a glimpse of.
"That is a childish thought, Boruto. I am aware of your mental conditions, always. I know what you are feeling now and what you feel outside. Your problem isn't something new for me, Konohamaru had the same issue." Naruto said in a gentle tone without letting his tone seem like he was looking down on Boruto in any manner.
"Uncle Kono? Okay, does that mean you can cure it?" Boruto kept his voice calm and didn't let annoyance enter it. Those words just made him feel worse again.
Naruto felt it but he didn't change his method as that was too much cuddling.
"Your problem is related to me and your siblings in a way, but mainly it is your mind. You are over thinking things and letting negative thoughts cover your mind. You always seem to have us in your mind and compare yourself in your own way."
"I knew you didn't understand. It's the people…"
"Stop, you are over thinking again. Those gazes don't always mean what you think they mean. You are not reading their minds, so how do you know. Some of them do judge your actions, but most of them don't.
No one expects you to surpass me, you expect it." Naruto stopped him from taking as he was about to enter a wrong territory where it would have ended up in a tirade of his negative perception.
Boruto glared at him as he was unable to leak a voice or move under his hand. He had just said the taboo words.
Surpass me
It hurt him so much and the pain was converted into anger.
"So, I am just going to be another fodder soldier for you. And Asura, Shuten and Himawari will stand above me. They will surpass you, is that it?"
Naruto could feel the pain in his voice and tears. This topic was very important to him unlike the others. Naruto knew it started because of his teaching about the new generation surpassing the old and it applied to everyone except a few cases in some way.
Naruto had been surpassed by his kids by a long shot and the only reason he was stronger was because of age, and the experiments.
Boruto's thinking was really narrowed because of the anxiety and negativity plaguing his mind. He was always looking at the current him even though they were not the same age.
The problem was worsened by his younger siblings going above him. It was very rare and a shame for any big brother to be less successful than their younger sibling.
"Why would you ever think such a thing? Boruto, you are a smart child. You are better than most and better than me. Your entire problem arises from the fact that your vision has become narrow and you do not look at the full picture.
I did not say that you cannot surpass me. I believe you can but the thing is it takes time that you seem to forget when making the comparison.
Your siblings have better genetics but many people around me also had better genetics, did I not surpass them. Everything is doable, so stop thinking in such a manner. Do you not realize that it hurts me when you speak like this?
It hurts your mother to see you like this. We want to see you strong and shining, not weak and broken down.
I will give you the choice; do you want to try living for a month as an orphan? I will suppress everyone's memory of you and you will be some normal kid. I will be the only who knows and you. No one will make judgment of you and you can enjoy getting praised without being compared.
Do you want to do it?" Naruto held his face between his hands as he looked at Boruto, who had grown close to his shoulders. He stood at 170 cm while Naruto stood at 190 cm.
Boruto definitely didn't expect such words from his father. He wouldn't have understood them and processed them properly in his emotional state but Naruto broke him away from it and let him process them.
He had never really thought about the impact of this on his family. He felt guilty knowing about it, knowing that the people who gave him undying love were heart by his self hurt was not a good thing.
His mind narrowed on to the option.
Live as an orphan for a month.
"Give me time, and please leave." Boruto felt his head hurt and could only ask that from his father. He was ashamed of himself but he did feel the desire to try it out.
"Look at the full picture is my only advice for you. I will wait for your answer for two days." Naruto felt sad that Boruto didn't seem to understand and felt bad about his self destructive mind set. It was unhealthy and was causing anger issues within the boy.
He was worried some wrong things might mix in if it carried on.
Boruto didn't say a thing and sat down on his seat feeling physically weakened and with emotional fatigue.
His father walked away with his strong aura never waning.
The words kept on ringing inside his head but nothing seemed to fit into place and he only felt tired. He lost his desire to research and walked out of the workshop.
Messaging his friends, Boruto met up with them at the arcade.
Walking into the night and shifting focus away from the issue helped him relax. He needed a break before he could choose what he wanted.
Was it a good option or not? Did he need it? What would he learn from it? Was in really beneficial for him?
Was accepting it the right thing or did it make him look weak?
Why couldn't his father just give it to him straight? Boruto felt that there was something that Naruto was saying but he wasn't spoon feeding him.
It was a norm in the family so that they wouldn't get used to their parents saving their asses and carrying them through everything.
His father hadn't directly opened up because he believed that Boruto could do it.
But Boruto felt that the trust was misplaced. He just didn't have the ability to overcome this issue until he won against his siblings and arrived at the level of his father.
He knew why his father was worried since these thoughts gave him a lot of mental stress and such, but it wasn't something he could solve now.
Even knowing what it did to him and others, he felt guilty but it didn't solve it.
"Why so glum, chum?" Iwabe asked as he saw seriousness on Boruto's face
The expression disappeared when he saw them waiting for him at the pool table but it seems he was a bit late. He didn't like showing others his issues as it made him feel weak.
"Nothing, I just learned that my duelist idol hated me." Boruto muttered as he took a milkshake from Mitsuki, it was watermelon flavor.
"Bakura, I thought you knew." Shikadai finished his turn and got all the balls in with a single shot. He had known about the trial since a young age as the judicial field was one of the things he was interested in.
"I didn't, since I wasn't interested in the trials and it didn't come on the news."
"Well, they couldn't have that on the news. Bakura would have been socially destroyed for the things he said during the trial. He was lucky that Lord Seventh wasn't a cruel person and kept it under control, so that only those in the trial knew about it." Denki said as he looked at the balls move, calculating inside his head the force and direction of each step.
This was a simple game for them since they could see through all of it before making the shot. It was one of the games from a young age that they liked and used for practice. For challenge, they used difficult shots while putting limitations on themselves.
"I see. So, what do we do tonight?" Boruto nodded and smiled as he looked at them
"I thought you had a plan." Iwabe asked as he threw his plastic cup into the trash.
Mitsuki felt something was wrong with him and so did Shikadai. It was definitely not just the idol thing.
"Let's just play Ninja Fighters until we can think of something." Denki suggested since he liked the game and all of them also liked it. It was one of their general time pass activity when nothing else came to mind.
"Shika, you got nothing." Boruto looked at him as they walked inside to the games
"We could visit the moon colony by taking the space elevator."
"We already did that twenty times already." Iwabe commented with a shake of his head.
"How about visiting the monster battle arena or any other sport event taking place?" Mitsuki suggested
"There isn't anything good today, just some boring fights. We could visit the soccer match of the White Tigers against the Red Bulls in two days or the Monster Battle between The Mountain and The Berserker." Denki shot the idea down as he had checked these out before even Mitsuki mentioned them. He was a fan of physical activities, a lot more than the intellectual debates and such.
"Man, today is really shitty. Someone tell me a good point for today." Boruto sighed as they arrived at the games and took their seats. It was game that allowed for 8 players.
Each player chose a single fighter from a huge roster filled with ninja from different times. Denki always chose Choji, Gai, Naruto, Lee or Kaido.
Boruto liked speed and skill, so he chose Sasuke, Hinata, Kaguya, Kankurou, Toneri or Yoruichi. He used to take Naruto but now it made him feel bad.
It was game with traps and items as well. All characters had same level of stats and only their attack patterns differed along with their skills.
It was a competitive game.
"The Tower was good news." Iwabe replied as he chose Naruto, his idol and favorite character.
"Anything else?"
"Boruto, you can't have something good happen every day. Most of our days are normal, so just relax." Shikadai replied as he chose Shikamaru.
"My brother came back with a gift, do you want to see?" Mitsuki shared his good experience after school and took out an abomination which was an ugly looking monster that was like a starfish.
"Yeah, please put it away." Boruto patted his back as he was happy for his friend but the guy had terrible taste.
Mitsuki didn't mind and found amusement in such small things.
"So, did you hear anything about the shadow incident?" Shikadai asked as they started playing in the Land of Snow.
"Nah, he didn't mention anything except that it was under control. Oh, he also wanted us to keep a look out and report anything useful." Boruto replied and remembered the talk in the hot bath.
"Really, that's awesome." Iwabe was excited to help out. He was sixteen years of age already but his maturity levels were definitely lower than his colleagues.
He wasn't very talented and just focused on his battle style, with the basic abilities from other styles that he needed.
He wanted to follow Naruto's path but knew it was too much and focused on what he had instead of what he didn't.
He came from a normal family and was a resident of the Land of Earth but moved to Konoha at the age of 10.
He had started later than others but didn't let it bother him and walked life in a cheerful manner. He was outgoing and violent when need be.
He had fought Boruto when they first met and got beaten up.
He had friends in Iwa but this group was his best friends, especially Denki who helped him out with his training.
"It seems Lord Seventh believes that the problem might be on the lower level, where we could find it." Mitsuki muttered as he played using his brother Log as his character.
"I concur but, you all okay with joining?" Boruto asked as this task was harmful. Looking at their expressions, he knew it was pointless to ask.
"Since everyone is in agreement, got any ideas?" Iwabe asked as he looked towards the minds of the group.
"Let's see if anyone has started acting weird without any reason. That should help us narrow down our search. We could keep a watch and see if anyone has this dark energy on them or if anyone saw it. We can't let others know or the culprit might get wind of it." Shikadai replied and the others agreed with his opinion.
"That's good enough. What about my battle with Asura, got anything new to add?" Boruto asked as he looked at Shika and Denki.
"His skill set is hard to counter, you will need to go faster and hit hard." Denki replied with a shake of his head. Asura was just too talented and had a variety of skills without even working hard for them.
The whole family was blessed with good genetics and got everything so easily unlike them. He came from tech savvy family but he had wanted to be a close ranged specialist. He could never achieve his dream while the Uzumaki children could become anything they wanted.
No matter what timeline it became, life was always unfair in some way. If that wasn't enough, even if they all put the same work the result was not the same. With extreme training and hard work, Denki dreamt of reaching Kage level while that was the minimum level for the Uzumaki kids.
'Why am I thinking like that?' Denki felt weird as such negative thoughts erupted into his mind while looking at Boruto.
There were many times he had been jealous of his friend who was so blessed but seemed to not realize it. He was always worrying about the world being unfair towards him for being the son of the Uzumaki while completely ignoring the fact how blessed he truly was.
Boruto didn't say it more than once by mistake but they all knew he actually believed it. It truly angered Denki.
Boruto was his friend but that thought process pissed him off as he couldn't even follow his dreams properly unless he wanted to be a weakling.
He was blessed in admin and research field not battle.
He was happy with what he had and loved his current field, he always loved it but close combat was still the coolest.
"Man, why does Asura have so many damn blessings?"
"Shut the fuck up!" Denki smashed his hand into the arcade machine and broke it.
"What just happened?" Iwabe asked as he looked at Denki with a shocked gaze. His best friend just uttered those words. The guy was so soft spoken and would never act so aggressively.
Shikadai and the others acted quickly as they understood what happened before they saw the black aura.
The wires extended from Shikadai's hand to catch him while Mitsuki also released snakes to coil around him and Boruto released chains to capture him.
"It's the shadows." Boruto warned and everyone quickly took distance from the group while Iwabe took out his giant hammer.
"How did that happen? We were together and saw nothing attack him." Iwabe asked incredulously. They had been warned that some shadow creature was attacking people's psyche so all of them had been prepared but nothing like that happened, he just suddenly became berserk.
Denki struggled under the suppression from the team and unlike Metal, he wasn't physically strong enough to break out and all his items were also locked in.
It only seemed to make him rage more and his eyes went full black, while his body started to fluctuate and push against them.
"What is going on?" Boruto asked as he saw Denki's body grow and slim down in an unstable manner.
"He is gaining more physical strength, we need to stop him." Mitsuki analyzed his body structure from outside and inside, since the outside really couldn't tell much about chakra users.
They all felt the restraints weaken from the body changing size and it grew slowly before turning doll size to escape the encroachment.
Iwabe was in clear shot but hesitated to attack, leading to Denki slipping away from him and taking out his equipment.
It wasn't long before he had hacked into everything inside the building and made it into his arena.
"Always speaking bull shit, always. Can't you tell how it grates on my nerves, you blonde bastard? Daddy is too strong, boohoo, I can't surpass him, boohoo. Fuck surpassing him you little shit, I have to worry about even getting to Kage rank." Denki raged as his skin turned red with black marks and his body took on a muscular shape, bigger shape.
Usually he looked lean muscled like Peter Parker and wore glasses for security and support reasons, he also liked wearing them.
Now he looked ugly with that giant deformed body that was focused on giving him physically superiority.
Floating screens around him, Denki summoned drones and using the equipment around them built traps for the team.
They were all trapped by an electric net that was being charged by the Konoha power station, and his personal chakra.
He had also rearranged the things around him into robots and laser canons.
With his words, the group was hit by the attacks from him but Boruto's safety equipment activated as a light speed attack locked on to him.
Boruto couldn't react to light speed so he had safety equipment for those situations. It activated and he was incased in his armor while there was a barrier to protect the team.
"Boohoo, I am the son of the fucking Hokage. I am born with the superior genes so I don't have to worry about shit, you fucking losers. I am the son of the Hokage so I get the best things without asking, you bloody losers. Fucking cunt, your privileged ass pisses me so much that I want to rip out my eye balls." Denki screamed as he combined the laser beams to increase the power while released cable wires to catch the armor and hack into it.
He tried to do it remotely but it didn't work.
Boruto was shocked at those words, literally felt his jaw drop. He had never heard anyone curse at him, not even once. This was the first time anyone called him a cunt or anything vulgar.
"The thing seemed to have increased the negative side of an individual." Mitsuki commented while releasing snakes underground to catch Denki from the back.
"Iwabe, do you really see me like that? Does Denki really have problems with me?" Boruto asked as he looked at Iwabe
Iwabe looked from Denki to Boruto, and could see that this started because Denki felt annoyed at Boruto's words about blessings.
It was one thing both of them had common, they weren't as gifted like their friends and came from generally normal families.
"He does and I do as well. Boruto, we are all friends but you always forget that you are not normal. You are a genius and gifted genetically. Your background is the best and you get the best things. What we dream about, is just normal things to you.
So, we do get annoyed when you say things like that. We just play it off as a joke since we are all friends, and it would ruin the mood.
You look at your father but forget that you stand out among the rest of us and get everything easily. If you weren't the son of the Hokage, you wouldn't have that armor and you would be dead. You always seem to focus on the bad part while not talking about the good things that define you, it really pisses me off.
If you weren't part of the Uzumaki family than you might not even have the ability to follow your dreams and not worry about getting to the Kage level. You have no idea how bad we feel when you say that you will get to Kage rank with ease. Bro, we are literally bleeding ourselves dry to get to that rank while you will get there without even trying.
I never planned to say it but since Denki already said it, I ain't letting my bro take it alone. You do you but now let's help Denki." Iwabe sighed and placed his hammer on the ground as he looked at Boruto with a not so happy expression.
"We will talk about this later." Boruto couldn't believe what he was hearing. He had thought his friends were glued to him and they were all cool with each other. Where did this issue come from? Was he really so bad at seeing things that plagued his friends.
Just as Iwabe said that, Konohamaru took down Denki with utter ease and restrained him with his adamantine staff before stuffing him into the wine gourd.
He could have always ended it before anything happened but Naruto commanded him to stop. Naruto used the situation to help Boruto learn.
Konohamaru understood the situation and waited patiently. He had gone through similar problem with his grandfather.
His grandfather was a genius and a power house that ruled the old era. He had so many deeds at a young age that Kono was incomparable to him since the young boy was running around playing ninja while his grandpa had been in a real war.
He had an inferiority complex and even a superiority complex. He was sensitive to the gazes of the people and he hated it when people saw his grandpa instead of him.
People called him the honored grandson instead of Konohamaru and he hated it. Naruto was the one that helped him come out of that problem, and the first person to not treat him with respect.
Naruto was also the person that shaped him to surpass his grandfather, without him there was no chance that was happening.
Now he was one of the strongest beings on the planet and the first Monkey Sage in the world. He had a contract with Sun Wukong and was a happy man with a great future.
With Denki captured, Kono turned to the kids, "Take care and don't worry."
With that Kono was gone while the place fixed itself like nothing had happened. People were not told to run back home since the situation wouldn't change by hiding inside their homes, since it was the same inside and outside.
Kono collected Denki before his chakra was taken and anyone that was infected around them was also taken away. The plan was to starve the beast.
Boruto looked at the situation and his armor went back to normal. He looked at the back of Iwabe and thought about their words.
You are not looking at the whole picture. Your thinking is narrow. Boruto felt the words come back to him and this time this new information fit into those places.
He realized that he was doing something worse to his friends. He was at least growing stronger and would reach a high level, but some of his friends won't be able to keep up. He didn't think of their feelings and bragged about things, complained about things.
He got things they wouldn't get until later in their lives.
His life was easy compared to them since he always had everything. He could see now. He was being terrible.
He had everything but complained about the small thing that he didn't have, in front of people that didn't have everything like him.
He talked about unfair blessings when he had been blessed from birth with high affinity in all elements, byakugan, high chakra reserves, strong physique, strong mental strength and the wealth.
Now, he could see what his father meant by being too narrow minded. His siblings must have already understood this point while he didn't think about it.
Asura also told him the same thing in a different manner.
'Everything you have is because of father. You are nothing without him. If you weren't his son, do you think you would have the chance to think of such non-sense? People out here struggling to even reach Elite while do you even have to think about, of course not because you are the son of Uzumaki Naruto.'
It was insulting to him but Asura wasn't wrong and now Boruto could tell what he meant.
People around him struggled for the small things while he whined about such a small issue when there was no urgency and need. He had everything so surpassing Naruto was only going to act as a ego boost.
Was he going to die by not doing it? Was he going to be ashamed by not doing it? What was the point?
'I see. This is what that option was about.' Boruto saw the reason for that option. Naruto wanted to show him this reality that he had been overlooking.
"Sorry bro, I was being an asshole. I didn't know it hurt you guys." Boruto apologized as he walked towards Iwabe.
It had taken him few seconds to sort things out in his mind since he wasn't a normal person but a super human with the ability to move fast as lightning.
"No problem, it is normal for you to be an asshole."
"Seriously, we are having a serious moment here."
"I don't like serious, it makes me feel sick. Just don't let me hear anything about that, and we are cool. We will still beat the shit out of Asura, as he belittled our bros and called us second rate." Iwabe fist bumped Boruto and showed an excited smile. He wasn't someone that would let his emotional burden bring him down or anything else. He fought against everything and believed in fighting the self as part of training.
"You won't hear a peep out of my mouth about it. And, we will definitely beat the shit out of him. I can't let him forget who the big brother is."
"Okay, enough bromance. Let's get back to business, how did he get infected?" Shikadai sat down on his seat now that they were back.
He was happy that Boruto was getting settled but the problem of the shadows wasn't going down. It took on a new shape.
"You are right. We will go on a date next time, Iwabe"
"In your dreams, this macho man got chicks hanging of these guns." Iwabe stepped away from Boruto and showed his muscular body structure.
He had tanned skin and was tall as Naruto, with a wide body and heavy muscles that made Boruto look small.
"Boruto get's more girls than you without having to work Iwabe so, it is better not to compete on that subject." Mitsuki shot him down.
"Meh, he is still too young for the action unlike moi. That is fact but let's get back to the topic on hand."
Boruto shook his head as Iwabe took pride in his active life while none of the others had any girlfriends to even talk about.
"Well now that you are finished, anything to add?" Shika asked as he brought up the video from the arcade's camera and they looked at it.
There was nothing unusual about him so they skipped to the incident part.
They found a sign when Denki shouted. There was a dark presence on the back of his neck, like someone had touched it casually.
"Who met with Denki before us?" Boruto looked at Iwabe and Shikadai.
"I was chilling at home with a girl and then did some practice, before coming here."
"I was at the Nara Deer Park with Wendy and played with the family. Denki was in his father's workshop when I called him. So, it must have been someone close to him that he didn't notice." Shika replied as he went into this direction for the answer.
"Who could it be?" Boruto thought out loud as he didn't think it was Denki's father or any of the assistants.
There wasn't anyone in the lab that could be a problem.
All the people were screened and trustworthy, especially since they were working in the state transportation research and development department.
"It couldn't be someone from inside, it must have happened outside." Shikadai finished on the same line of thought and the group decided to investigate.
While the children were investigating, Naruto had a look through Denki's memories with Ino's help and didn't find anything helpful.
The shadow had also escaped once again by disintegrating and he was unable to stop it, as it ate away his chakra.
They also arrived at the same thoughts the kids and looked through the video of the day in the area where Denki had visited to narrow down the culprits.
"It's Sumire." Naruto concluded as his search finished.
She was the only one that acted differently in the area. She was close to the area where he felt the sign. She was also someone Denki wouldn't suspect of anything. She had access to the department since she was working as an assistant in the weapon research and development department.
Among the people she was the most suspicious, especially because of her background. Her father had been the head of ROOT's research department.
"Should we capture her or do we watch?" Shikamaru asked as he stood behind Naruto besides Sasuke and Konohamaru.
"The night is suspicious, so let us wait for the dawn." Naruto replied as he felt that the enemy might get unusual power up from the night and that could lead to unwanted collateral damage, like people dying.
A.N Hope you enjoyed and aren't bored.
The Boruto problem here is something very realistic and is something that could have been done in the canon. His original problem wouldn't exist in this setting or in the actual setting if Kishimoto hadn't self inserted into Naruto.
We all have watched Naruto and know that he is someone that grows through the experiences, and isn't a follower. He loves people close to him and wouldn't do anything to hurt them. It is impossible for him to waste time in the office when he could just use a clone to do the job and the job in the canon shouldn't even be anything to him, since you know he isn't a normal human.
To keep the issue between father and son, I gave him the real kind of issue that develops in this kind of setting. It is similar to Subaru in Rezero, my favorite character. This is something I am very familiar with in a different kind of manner.
I hope you don't think that I am bashing Boruto anime or manga for no reason. It would be sad if you actually tried defending it because it has very poor writing, but that is through a different vision than intended. Boruto and Naruto are a children show, so such unrealistic and surface writing is what is expected.
Fine example of childish writing. Boruto is a genius but the story doesn't know how to show genius. I hope you don't think the boy has shown anything genius about him. He literally relies on genetics and practice, nothing genius about it.
His best attack is a fluke and plot. The genius thing has always been a problem in Naruto. Sasuke was called a genius and everything he did was stupid, his fighting style doesn't show any genius either.
Itachi was called a genius, but the guy was stupid as heck and thought like any teenager. His mistakes are literally showcasing how much an idiot he really was.
Neji was called a genius but the guy literally just copies what his clan members are doing. He isn't doing anything revolutionary and he didn't make a single attack of his own.
All the characters except few rare cases had no reason to be called geniuses in this show. You could find twelve years old smarter and wiser than Boruto and Sasuke. They wouldn't be called geniuses.
In Naruto series this thing is very common. The writer says something but the scenes don't show case it.
Boruto's actions and words make him look like a brat that is worse than a seven years old. Even if Naruto wasn't there, there was no need to act antagonist. Many kids have dealt with more, I was more mature at a younger age than this genius.
Shikamaru's actions against the Kage. This guy just used shadow binding on every kage including Naruto and shared his words to them like he was the boss. This is prime example of a child writing the story. This like the secretary of state of USA putting his gun against the Presidents head and the head of every other president in the meeting, and sharing what he wants.
These things are not family or friend meetings.
In this scene it also said that Naruto could break through it because he was the Kyuubi vessel. It really shows that the writer has become brain dead. Naruto's biggest power up isn't Kurama, its the six paths power.
There was also the problem that the other leaders acted as if they were equal to Naruto. In a realistic setting, you wouldn't act equal to someone that could blow you of existence along with your country with a single move.
This is called not even trying.
That was not enough realism, so we have Shikamaru and Sasuke completely ignoring Naruto when dealing with the member from Kara. Naruto was literally treated as air.
This is supposed to be Naruto from Shippuden. You can tell that the writers really don't care for this character when they treat him like this. Naruto isn't a character that I like. I dislike characters that are stupid and unrealistic. But I know that he is a character that grows with experience and he became mature by the war arc.
The Boruto era Naruto is immature and a follower, instead of a leader. Someone going through his experiences would have been a wise leader. Giving Naruto fights and a new power up isn't giving him respect, that's just to boost up sales. Whenever Naruto and Sasuke appear, the sales increase for the show.
I care about the writing and plot. The thing is that it's not even worth watching in Boruto.
Let me give another example, In Hiruzen era no bandit ever attacked Konoha. In Boruto era, bandits attacked Konoha and almost killed Boruto.
This means that bandits feared Hiruzen more than they care about Naruto. This has to be one of the most retarded writing ever. Boruto would have died if Sarada and Mitsuki didn't appear, and Naruto was none the wiser. Gentleman this is the Hokage of the new era, completely treated like fodder by everyone and their momma's.
There is more about other characters like Sasuke, Hinata, Kakashi, Tsunade, Konohamaru, Shino etc but you get the point.
