The Ghost Hunt Symposium

Jack Fenton beamed as people gathered around their little stall, awed at the inventions that he and his beautiful wife, Maddie, had managed to build and test together. None of the gathered knew that there was only one flaw to every single piece of hunting equipment: They all seemed to target their only son, Danny, for no reason except to say that the kid was a foul ghost. Even the Ghost-Gabber repeated all the things that Danny said, only to add, "Fear Me!" at the end of the sentence.

He wasn't expecting to come to the centre one day, with his beloved, and find the building crawling with people dressed in weird clothes, wielding some kind of stick or for a couple of men to approach them both and cause everything to go black, especially after a strange spoken word.

The last coherent thought he had was, 'MADDIE! KIDS! GHOST!'

Hogwarts

Danny growled as the Poltergeist threw a table in his path, causing him to blast it out of the way, both halves falling to the floor, legs breaking off at the joints. The few students that had managed to get away from their panic-stricken teachers stood wisely at the entrance to the Great Hall along with the Amity Park residents, all of whom were still covered in whatever had been in the water balloons. They were also holding curious First Years from going into the fray of the fight as three Fifth Years squeezed their way to the front wands at the ready.

Dodging another table, he caught a leg as it sailed past, did a 360˚ turn and threw it straight back at the Poltergeist, grinning grimly as the solid object impacted with the other being, causing Peeves to fall slightly, before a table hit him from behind, Danny falling to the floor, the table falling on top of him.

"What in the name of Merlin is going on!" An angered girly voice shouted, Students looking panicked as the Americans looked at them. Peeves blew a raspberry, causing Danny to scowl up from his position as he stood through the table and proceeded to brush himself down. Talking was heard as he walked away and saw Harry standing at the front with a shocked look on his face. Sam, Tucker and Jazz were attempting to talk to Valerie, in her Red Huntress outfit, and persuade her not to shoot at the Halfa. The Huntress wasn't listening as Jazz shook her head and pulled down the ecto-gun in the formers hand.

Professor Umbridge soon arrived in the scene, just as the few students were running away back to their class, some dragging an Amity Parker with them. Soon, the only people left were Danny, his friends and the Golden Trio and Peeves as he tried to make a quick retreat. A shot from Sam had him howling and rubbing at his sore arse as it smoked lightly while Harry, Ron and Hermione shot Carpe Retractum* to hold him. Howling still, the Poltergeist was sucked from the air into a thermos in Jazz's hand and the lid slammed shut as she smiled at her brother when he walked forward, still in Phantom form and nudged her arm. Umbridge turned the corner a second later, spotting the seven teenagers talking, Phantom floating with his legs crossed as he was handed the Thermos containing Peeves, the three Lions were busy stowing their wands away as some kind of weapon was shrunk back onto the American Girl-who-wore-black's wrist, revealing it be enchanted somehow or just to be a very good muggle invention. Dolores sneered as she watched them interacting together.

Her eyes narrowing at the sight, she cleared her throat with a 'hem-hem' and stepped out of the shadows as the group stiffened and turned to face her, each wearing a look of shock on their face. A thud on the floor was from the ghost as he fell from where he'd floated with the group. Rubbing where he landed, he looked sheepish as he floated off the floor again, a centimetre above the ground, and cocked his head slightly.

"Children who misbehave should know their place." Dolores said, looking at the Potter boy and his two friends as they stared evenly back.

"I really hope that doesn't include my friends, lady." The ghost said, walking forwards as she turned to him, her face showing no emotion when he added, "Harry, Ron and Hermione helped us capture Peeves. They should be being rewarded, not told off."

"They are students of Hogwarts School, the same school that I am a member of staff in. They are under my authority and I will treat them as such. The same could be said about your 'friends' here."

"Watch it, Lady." Phantom growled, unconsciously glowing brighter in his anger, a hand landing in his shoulder from an otherwise unmoving Sam as Jazz pushed her way to the front and said, "We were just about to clean the mess up, Ma'am."

"See that it is, young lady." Dolores said, glaring at Harry, Ron and Hermione as she turned away and stalked off, Danny pulling a face at her retreating back. Sam took her hand away as he ran a hand through hi hair and turned back to his friends, the Trio of wizards staring at them all as soon as they were sure that the teacher had gone round the corner.

Laughing nervously as Harry shook his head, Danny summoned the rings, turning back into Fenton before saying, "At least we got Peeves, right?"

"And we got to clean up the mess as well, Danny. Is this usually how you deal with problem ghosts?" Ron said, his ears turning slightly pink as they walked back into the Hall and studied the destruction. Tables and benches lay either broken or on their sides. A banner was ripped and hung on the ceiling as Jazz went over to it and studied the badger embroidered on it. Sam walked over to a bench that lay by the staff table and examined the crack running down the middle whilst Tucker wandered over to her and spoke quietly. Danny had gone to the table that had fallen on top of him when he heard footfalls coming down the stairs and looked over to the door as people began coming in, standing at the door as if uncertain whether they would be allowed in. Amongst them, he noticed that they each wore their House emblems on their robes as Harry paused in his tracks and stared. As did the other Gryffindors before one Slytherin stepped forward hesitantly and held out his hand silently, causing a stir amongst the others as they all waited.

"We want to help." The Slytherin said, his face showing nothing but honesty as Harry started walking towards them.

Ooooohhhhhh! What could this be?! I hope it's gonna be good, I've always liked fics where all four Houses come together as one.

*I don't exactly know if this spell is in the books themselves, I've just recently bought the PSP Harry Potter and the GOF game and this spell was in the game itself.

Can I just say one thing? DOLORES UMBRIDGE SUCKS!

Until next time. That is, if I'm not dead. *Runs off, spell shooting after me*
