*Spell splashes against rock I'm hiding behind. A shout erupts from Dolores before a centaur gags her*

I'm not dead, just hiding behind this rock.

Ministry of Magic

Far away, in an underground building, an ancient artefact started to move from it's still position in an office, usually reserved for the Minister for Magic as he looked up and wandered over to the north-most window in his office, a smile starting to creep onto his own face. Turning back to face the office to grab his cloak, he was thrown to the floor by a ripple of magic unlike that he had ever experienced. The device began whirring faster and emitted a whistling tune akin to that of a phoenix song.

Cornelius Fudge stared at the device as he struggled to his feet, gripping the edge of his desk for support and looked around as the door was slammed open, one of his assistants leaning on the door-frame and panting as she stared wide-eyed at the little device

"Minister, you felt it too?" she asked, her decorum coming back as she straightened up her robes and leaned far away from the door, her hands going down by her side, a far cry from the panting young woman she had been a moment before.

"Yes, Felicity. I felt something." Cornelius answered, looking at her as she looked confused but nodded, her face holding onto some panic as she asked, "What was it though? It felt like something was happening that we should know about."

"That is something I will find out soon enough, Felicity." the Minister said, "Was there anything else you came to see me for?"

"No, Minister."

Hogwarts

Earlier

"Why do you want to help us?" Harry asked, quietly noting that the Slytherin was in his Potions Class, but one who sat at the back and kept his head down when the Lions were being reprimanded by Snape. The Slytherin raised an eyebrow before he answered, "Because, you lot can't clean this on your own, no matter how many people are with you. And, I'm sick of this rivalry between our Houses."

"You're not the only one." A Ravenclaw said, her and a Hufflepuff coming to the two Houses already together. A ripple ran through the Hall, causing them to look around in confusion before looking back at each other. The Hufflepuff girl looked to the wall and back as the Slytherin said, "I've always hated the fact that we don't get along, Potter, but I want us to get along."

"You'll be hated, er…" Harry warned, looking as the Slytherin shrugged and replied, "Me name's John. Let them hate me, Potter. I don't give a rat's arse anymore."

"The same goes for us too." Came the quiet voice of the Hufflepuff girl, the Ravenclaw nodding as Harry took a breath and nodded too.

"I've never understood why our Houses hate each other so much." Harry put his two cents in, every other House nodding and the Hufflepuff answered, "It just seems to Gryffindor and Slytherin that hate each other. But you get along with us. Both Houses do to a certain point."

"So…?"

"We call a truce. House unity or something like that" John replied, looking serious as he nodded behind Harry, "This world needs change. This rivalry has to end at some point."

"It has gone on for too long. Truce?"John asked, holding out his hand, looking at his fellow schoolmates silently and patiently.

"Truce." Harry repeated, grasping John's arm, a ripple of energy going through them, nearly causing them to let go. They didn't as the Hufflepuff smiled, repeated the same single word and added her arm to theirs, whilst the ripple got stronger and more vibrant.

Their arms trembled with the strength of the energy as she said, "Serena Miller."

"Nice to meet you, Serena." Harry and John said, both looking at the Ravenclaw as she rolled her eyes, smiled and said, "Tracy Stone."

"You gonna join us, Tracy?" John asked, his voice cracking slightly as Tracy laughed, put her hand with theirs and declared, "Truce."

A curse sounded as each of their hands began to glow with a powerful light, one that made them avert their eyes so that they looked at each other again. With a sound like a shotgun going off in a cramped area, the group of four were thrown back into different parts of the Hall itself, a golden explosion of light spreading from where they had stood. Danny threw up a shield as he, his friends, Hermione, Ron and Jazz huddled together and watched as the light threw away the shield and he felt the love and power of the magical shock-wave as it threw them onto their butts, along with everyone else in the Hall.

The walls of the school seemed to groan with the power and glowed, even in the darkest deep of the Chamber of Secrets. Classes were paused as students looked at each other as the wave washed through the walls and air itself, teachers falling from where they stood at the front. Those who had been destined to join the Dark side were suddenly able to choose their own paths as Draco Malfoy suddenly looked up from a letter from his father, Lucius Malfoy, a frown marring his features as the wave washed over the Slytherin Common Room, sending him to the floor when he tried to stand.

Tingling came from the left arm of the Potions Master as he worked on an important potion for the school matron, the potion itself suddenly bubbling over onto the floor as he paused in adding the ingredient on his hand. Forgetting the cauldron for a second, he dropped the Flax-weed root and rolled up his sleeve, revealing a tattoo of a snake-tongued skull fading from it's position on the crux of his elbow. With a shout, he lunged to the fire, intending to contact the Headmaster, before he fell to the floor and blacked out.

In a tower on the north side of the castle, a phoenix woke from it's slumber, startled at the surge of magic washing over the school and began to trill a song. The human occupant looked up as he sensed the wave and stood, intending to go find out what was happening in the school. He was thrown backwards as the wave collided with him, golden sparks being the only warning before he kissed the carpet, love and friendship being the only feelings he felt as he tried to push himself to his feet, only to find himself sticking to the floor from the force of the magical flow.

In the Great Hall, Harry groaned as he tried to lift his head and look around. The headache throbbed as he opened his eyes to find that the Hall was repairing itself, tapestries re-sewn and hanging back above tables that had moved themselves and were repairing the wood the had split. In the middle of the chaos lay Danny, Hermione, Ron, his friends and sister, all laying unconscious, along with everyone else who'd come to help with the clean-up. Their hands lay intertwined and a faint glow came from the Halfa, almost as if he had tried to protect them all. His vision swimming, he watched blearily as the last bench moved itself back by it's table and all went still.

His strength starting to fail, Harry gave up lifting his upper-body and fell back to the ground again, his vision just making out the other three all laying unconscious, and footsteps running towards the hall.

With a moan, he embraced the cool blackness of unconsciousness as his eyes closed.

Well, what'd'ya think?
