Olivia insisted on continuing to sleep on the couch, and Sarah agreed, knowing that she couldn't manage on her own at night yet. When Olivia came in early Thursday morning, Sarah looked uncomfortable.

"Are you in more pain?" Liv asked, concerned.

"Yeah. I've really not had any pain until now. It's not terrible, but it's definitely throbbing."

"Is ibuprofen okay while you're breast-feeding?" Olivia asked her.

"It's fine, it's what I took after delivery," Sarah said.

"I'm going to go get you some, and I'll tell Elliot before I go to work. Amita is coming over today, right?"

Sarah nodded. "I'll tell him to text her," Olivia said.

Once Sarah was done nursing, Olivia burped Emmy and changed her diaper. "You still look uncomfortable and tired," she said. "How about if you try to rest, and I'll bring Emmy to Elliot," Olivia suggested. Sarah nodded reluctantly. "Sorry the pain is worse," Liv said. "Hopefully the ibuprofen will kick in soon and you can get back to sleep."

When Sarah woke up 3 hours later, she was surprised to find Amita there, rather than Elliot. "I heard your pain is worse," she said, "and I couldn't resist more time with Emmy. I miss the baby days," she said.

When Sarah was done nursing and Amita had burped Emmy, she said, "I'm going to have Elliot hold her for a few minutes, so I can look at your foot." She came back a few minutes later and gently examined Sarah's foot. "The swelling is worse, which is what you'd expect a few days out. That's probably why you're in more pain. I'm going to prescribe you Naproxen because it's the most widely used while breast-feeding." She saw Sarah's reluctance. "My advice would be to keep alternating higher doses of ibuprofen and Tylenol, but have the Naproxen as a back-up just in case. If you're worried about it, you could always take it immediately after breast-feeding and give her pumped milk instead of nursing the next session. You need to eat something though, and I want to watch how you're doing on crutches."

She handed the crutches to Sarah and followed her into the kitchen. "You look much better on them," she said. "I was concerned."

"I know," Sarah responded. "Insisting on looking at my foot didn't make sense."

"I wanted to at least check the swelling and see how you felt," Amita said.

Amita moved a chair for Sarah to prop her foot up on. "Can I hold Emmy?" she begged Elliot. He laughed and handed her over. "Oh, Josh and Meera made you dinner," she said. "Enough for your whole family," she added to Elliot. "Meera is our 14 year old," she explained to Elliot. Elliot handed Sarah a plate of toast and a container of yogurt. "Thanks, Elliot," Sarah told him.

"It looks like they made enough for the week," Elliot laughed.

"I know they made rice, Dahl, sag paneer and naan," Amita said. "I'm not sure what else." Sarah's eyes lit up.

"How did your husband learn to make Indian food?" Elliot asked, curiously.

"From my parents," Amita laughed. "He's a great cook and I'm terrible. My parents were so excited to teach him. My mom says he makes better Dahl and paneer than she does, but Josh insists my mom's are better. Now, they're all enjoying teaching Meera."

"He sent prints from the baby-naming too," Amita said. "He's going to print better quality ones for you but he wanted you to see them."

Sarah looked through them, and her eyes welled up. "These are incredible," she said, pausing at a close up of her holding Emmy. Elliot looked over and his eyes widened.

"Your husband took these?" he asked. "They look like they were taken by a professional photographer."

"Josh did photography work before medical school," Sarah explained.

"How does he have time to be a doctor, and have so many hobbies?" Elliot wondered.

"He's an internist, but he spends most of his time teaching medical school, so he has a more flexible schedule. He stayed home with Meera the first year after my maternity leave and works part-time, so he's the one home after-school with Meera. I'm really lucky," she said. "He was so supportive of me going into a surgical field and does most of the stuff at home. He's also just talented at everything. If he wasn't my husband, I'd be jealous."

"Are the pain-killers kicking in more?" Amita asked Sarah. "You look less uncomfortable." Sarah nodded. "Because the swelling is up, try to lie down as much as you can today and tomorrow. I would love to hang out with Sarah and Emmy, if you have stuff you need to get done," she told Elliot.

"Maybe I'll run to the grocery store and get a few errands done. I can pick up your prescription too. Any foods you want?" he asked Sarah.

"More ice-cream," she admitted. "I agree with Noah about needing it after a bad day."

"Ice-cream is definitely necessary," Elliot agreed.

"Let's get you lying down," Amita said, "so you can elevate your foot." She followed Sarah to the couch, and brought several pillows that she helped her prop her foot on. "I'm going to get you an ice-pack," she said. After she'd gently placed the towel wrapped ice-pack on Sarah's foot, she came back holding Emmy.

"Now I get Emmy time," she said, sitting on a chair across from the couch. "You are such a snuggle-bug," she said, as Emmy nuzzled into her chest. "How is the pain?" She asked Sarah.

"Better," Sarah responded.

"Good. You rest, and Emmy and I will take care of everything," she said, smiling warmly at Sarah.
