This is Jin Kiryu, a nobody who is sharing stuff people probably won't care about. Like many in my generation, I went on a journey to be the best at something. My journey began in Hoenn; I collected, trained, battled, even coordinated Pokemon for a bit. But after getting all the badges, and filled out my part of the Pokedex, I started to find that I lacked direction.
With the advent of digital services, filling out a Pokedex and party building was easier. In all honesty, I had a better time looking for Pokemon that were better battlers than anything else. Because of that, the gyms weren't even a challenge anymore. But(ellipses) despite the satisfaction I got from getting just one Abra, I found natures play a bigger part than I thought. My first time at the Battle Frontier told me I needed an edge. I always wondered how the gang leaders didn't take advantage of these resources. But at least this let me find a decent job working with the old couple at the Day Care Center. Which in turn lead me to the question of Incense use, breeding, and a slew of other things that lead to an epiphany.
The epiphany was, I like journeys more than destinations. My journey was how to best find what makes the world tick.

I met wild Wynauts on Mirage Island after an accidental discovery, I just had to find out why they existed. Their metamorphized form Wobbuffet is already a terrible battler, which makes it dependent on battling with other Pokemon to help it out. I mean just for kicks, I use a Wobbuffet for knocking out powerful opponents with its Destiny Bond and Shadow Tag. Anyway, given Mirage Island's closed ecosystem, I could only assume there were no pressures. I kind of envied how these little guys managed to stay so chill despite not receiving visitors so often. I guess celebrating the small things means a lot to them. I can only wish to feel like that.
In any case, I found myself more in the potential to be found throughout the world. Like, I found that Liechi berries grow easier in the air of Mirage Island, the same effects can be reproduced with a Lax Incense. Turns out it's a mutation of a Yache berry. Which leads to a lot of questions: given that berry's need to protect from the cold, does that mean Mirage Island was once part of my hometown of Mossdeep City? Why did it even break off? Could it have been the clash between those Titans Groudon and Kyogre?
Too many questions, not enough answers. Frankly I'm losing interest in the mystery. Besides, I found something more interesting. Because of my discovery, the old couple put in a good word to some of their well connected friends for me to travel.

At Kanto, I came to a place where they wanted me to join. Cerulean Cave had recently collapsed but there were traces of DNA from a Pokemon from long ago. What they really wanted to know however was why there was a presence of Wobuffet going into and out of the cave. Which is where I came in.
Wobbuffet aren't great battlers and usually hang about in caves to hide from predators. Because of how dependent they are on strong supporters, that could only mean the Pokemon in question is still around in the cave despite its collapse. As for how they first got here, it's beyond me.
"So I decided to go in deeper.

(Pant-Gasp!) Since you have accessed the dark net and came all this way, I need to inform you that this is your only warning. What I'm about to dive into is going to be too absurd for people to take seriously.
I went into the cave thinking things would be alright. But I found that the Wobbuffett were starting to act funny, aggressive even. It didn't make any sense, they never feel threatened. It was only thanks to my Manetric did I find the reason why they went berserk. Whatever lived here before left a lot of residue and it looks like it's trying to pull itself back together.
A number of Wobbuffet were gathering somewhere deep inside the cave, huddling together to prevent other Pokemon from getting close.
I collected a small sample of a substance around the cave close to me to bring back to the researchers outside. The hard part was keeping it contained and away from Pokemon, including my own. Especially with how the Wobbuffet kept getting close, some of them looked really aggressive.
But then I tripped!
I landed on a Wobbuffet which used Counter in such a way that its friends hit me around like ball. That is until I landed on a puddle of whatever the substance was. Some of it got into my mouth and nose! I shuddered to think what this stuff did to humans after seeing it make the usually docile Wobbuffets so aggressive.
"I got my answer to that question soon enough. I could taste sounds, I could smell electromagnetic waves, I could extend my sense of touch from meters away and the Wobbuffet could feel it. But then I felt my sense of balance shift in places outside of my body. I could stand up by I couldn't tell which way was up. I was in a state of helplessness that felt (ellipses) familiar. Pretty soon my vision distorted where I saw the object of my fear.
I tried to run away from a shifting mass of static as it changed into a giant sickle hand. But when I tripped again, it became a giant Aerodactyl fossil. As I got back up I noticed a Butterfree in strange colors as it was frozen and then asleep. I turned away trying to ignore it. But then I felt the presence behind me again. I tried to grab a ball but felt the taste of a Pomeg berry. It was like whoever was in my party at the time felt it too. As I released a ball, all I saw was an egg that hatched into a gold Bulbasaur.
Pretty soon, I lost all my sense and felt the words "Blacked Out".

By the time I woke up, it was like I was drunk and hungover at the same time. But as my vision started to come back I saw something. I shuddered to see what it was until I felt new words.
"I am not here to hurt you. I have seen your mind and share that feeling."
I saw images of a trainer, battles, and the capture of that same thing I hallucinated. At least until the voice said:
"What you saw was no hallucination, I encountered it as well. I retreated back to my domain as soon as it had done damage."
I opened my eyes as my vision returned to see my host, the Genetic Pokemon, Mewtwo. It took me a while to find out that they were that puddle I fell into.
"I am afraid some of my essence is still within your body's circulatory system. It is why you can hear my thoughts so easily. But at the rate it's going, some other physiological changes will gradually take place as well."
When I was about to ask what happened to cause the collapse of the cave, a vision of Mewtwo losing control appeared in my head
"I doubt anymore needs to be said about that. I understand that you are a scholar trying to out more about the world. I may need to tell you that the place that started your journey no longer exists."
I thought they meant Hoenn.
"Not the region, the island."
I found myself in the middle of the ocean, it took me a short time to realize that it was where Mirage Island was supposed to be. It wasn't under water, there was no fog or maelstroms covering it, it was just gone. I found myself still wet with seawater back in Cerulean Cave.
"Whatever that creature was, it seems coming into interactions with it leaves us aware at what transpires in the greater world. Things change, some subtle, others more abstract. I have already seen that it is not my essence that allows us to see through this veil. Some of the researchers you met have already used it for experiments with none recreating our conditions."
I saw across the world again with Pokemon having dark auras surrounding them. And how calling them out seems to have an effect on their focus.
"I would keep note of that. You never know when that might come in handy. Things are changing, but some things might not have to. Because it can help down the line, as it can with us."
"Through Mewtwo's psychic powers, I could feel the genetics in their cells changing.
"Since gaining this body, I am going through changes that I cannot prevent. My body can at least survive the changing adaptations per its design, but I'm not sure about yours."
I felt a whole host of emotions and Mewtwo could feel them. What really stood out was how I wanted to spend my last days.
"I did not say 'we' are at an end, let alone you. We can still show others that there's still more to life as long as you look for it."
I wanted to ask why it wanted to do all this with me, because I could feel it but not know why.
"I wish to learn more about the world as well, including what everyone closed themselves to and what's hidden in plain sight."

So over the years, we went over some things, especially on a few math related things. Thanks to Mewtwo (who I've come to call Jove) we managed to uncover some things. One of which was making the odds a little more favorable for lotteries, especially getting a Master Ball to reverse engineer. Thanks to the design we managed to create our own balls for the sole purpose of research. We even use a pseudonym for the patents made with it so that nobody else can use them. Like the Dual balls that not only catch more than one Pokemon, but measures compatibility for breeding, most beneficial moves, natures, and other things of course. It even allows for breeding without the use of Day Cares.
We also managed to get some data on the calling out to Pokemon and how it increases accuracy. That and the evasiveness of a Pokemon to the point where reflexes can determine how a specialization can change the course of evolution. Because some metamorphs weren't that great as Eviolite suggests. But we had to play it safe.
As long as that "thing" and others like it are out there, there's a void that needs to be filled, but "they" are the ones who decide what sticks or not. We needed someone to give us plausible deniability. Because in the event we fail, somebody will be around to take the fall. Maybe even act as a buffer for somebody else to pick up the pieces.

We did our test in evolution with accuracy in front of a university professor from Galar, Tajiri Nishinomori. By passively raising a Tyrogue's accuracy since it was bred, we managed to make a break through with the discovery of a new form. Jove decided to call the form Hitmonskeets (final name pending).
We got the job as assistants no problem. Our first assignment as it turns out is training a Pikachu who was born a Pikachu first. To our surprise, the Pikachu did metamorph into a Raichu, but its appearance was different. Its tail was shorter than the generic version, its back legs made it look taller, and had digits like its previous form. Noticably its ears were more sensitive to sound. Jove would later confirm that this little guy, Ohm still had one more form.
To say I was excited would've been an understatement. Nishinomori, had us all go to the region Ohm came from. But on the way over I kept having nightmares. Jove was definitely concerned for me but I told them not to worry. This was a discovery we weren't going to forget.
