Dare

"Truth or dare, James?" said Lily, a smile playing a t her face. She knew exactly what she would say if James said "dare." And it would be so hilarious!

Sure enough, her wish came true. "Dare!" James crowed.

Lily giggled. "I dare you and the other three Marauders to sleep in the same bed the whole night!"

James turned pale. Sirius gave a tiny smile. Remus giggled. Peter looked confused.

"But…that's daring all of us, not just…"

"Who votes yes and who votes no to Lily's dare?" interrupted Sirius. "All those who say yes, raise your hand!"

Lily, Remus and Sirius raised their hands. Sirius whispered to Peter, "Raise your hand, Wormy." Peter raised his slowly. James glared. He knew Remus and Sirius only raised their hands because they wanted to sleep next to each other. "Four against one! I win!" cheered Lily. James groaned. "Fine. Anything for you, flower."

"Okay, whose bed do we sleep in?" said Remus.

"Well, mine smells like wet dog, James's is filled with Quidditch memorabilia, and Peter's has cake crumbs in it. So I guess we'll go with yours, Remy."

"Aaaaw, thanks Siri." he said, before kissing him on the nose. Sirius giggled like a little boy. James rolled his eyes. "Okay, enough with the goo-goo eyes. Let's get this over with." "Hey, Prongs, we never say that when you're making goo-goo eyes at Lily." exclaimed Sirius, but James had already shoved him, Peter and Remus under the covers one by one, and turned out the light.

"Hey, James, can I hug you? Remus and Sirius are already hugging and I don't want to feel left out…" James shot the other two a dirty look and said, "Sure, Peter. You're really good for hugs anyway." "Aw, thanks!" said Peter, before hugging up to James, who breathed a sigh of relief. Peter didn't like it when people made jokes about his weight. But it was true that he was very squishy and good for cuddles. He was kind of like a fat little teddy bear. Not that James would ever admit it. That would be weird. Still, sometimes when the others were feeling bad, they would just go and cuddle Peter.

Sirius's arm flung itself over Remus's face. Remus almost bit it, before remembering that he couldn't stand the thought of Remus becoming a creature like he was, so he just smacked him. "AAAH!" yelped Sirius. "What was that for?!" "Because I didn't want to bite you, stupid." "Sirius kicked him, but he had accidentally kicked Peter instead, waking him up. "OW!" screamed Peter. "What was that for?!" "Déjà vu!" crowed Sirius. "GO TO SLEEP, ALL OF YOU!" yelled James.

Around midnight, Remus woke up screaming. "Remy, Remy, calm down! What is it, darling?" "Whaaaaat..?" said James, waking up suddenly. Peter continued snoring away. "I had a nightmare…" began Remus, but before he could say anything else, Sirius pulled him into a hug and started stroking his hair. "Oh, Remy, darling, it's okay, I'm here…" Remus groaned and kissed Sirius. "Will you two lovebirds knock it off?" said James blearily. "Aaaawww, somebody's a grumpy-guts, is Peter not helping?" teased Sirius, noticing James was still hugging Peter. "What! No! He's helping more than you ever will!" You're all insane." mumbled Remus, before climbing over Sirius and laying next to James. Sirius fell out of bed.

The next day, Sirius woke up on the floor with every joint aching. James and him made up, Remus just rolled his eyes, and Peter slept in. Somehow he had managed to change forms while asleep, and James had woken up with a chubby gray rat dozing next to him.

From outside the boys' dorm, Lily had watched all night as the boys fought. She giggled and went back to tell her other friends how the night went.
