Eclipse

More Clues
Once Cassandra had seemingly run, the small group found themselves sitting in what used to be the throne room of the Dark Kingdom. Rapunzel was focusing all her attention on the slip of paper in which she had written down the two clues given to her by Demanitus. Eugene was sitting next to her, both of them attempting to figure it out. Now that the moonstone was in the possession of someone else, they knew that they needed to find this Eclipse.
The king, also Eugene's father which was a development of sorts for the ex-thief, made his way over and read the notes over the young couple's shoulders.
"Oh, we have that prophecy around here," said Edmund, shocking both Eugene and Rapunzel. They both looked at him.
"You do?" Rapunzel asked, "where?"
"Oh no, it was destroyed but I have it memorized," said Edmund. Rapunzel frowned at him while Eugene slammed his head into his hands. Edmund looked at them both pleasantly.
"Can you tell us the rest please?" Rapunzel asked, standing up. Lance, Max, and Pascal looked over.
"What are you talking about?" asked Lance.
"When we met Demanitus, he told us about a third being. There's the sun drop, the moonstone, and the eclipse" explained Eugene, "and Edmund was about to tell us the rest." The group looked at the slightly deranged king. Who only smiled at them.
"King Edmund, you were about to tell us about Eclipse?" Rapunzel prompted. Edmund's eyes brightened as he breathed out, "oh yeah."
"Well, there are the two points you have: son of the brotherhood and smarter than Lord Demanitus," said Edmund.
"Yeah, we've met the two of them. Adira and Hector. Both of them were really nice" said Eugene.
"Especially Adira" sighed a lovesick Lance.
"Two. No, no there's three" said Edmund, "last I heard, he lived in Corona."
"There's three," said Rapunzel, "he probably has a child them. And Corona, that's amazing. We know where the child is."
"Blondie," said Eugene, "you are aware that there are many, many children living in Corona."
"Son, there are more clues," said Edmund, "the child will have an obvious sign of magic on them, they will have already have a connection to the sun drop, and there will be an already born connection between the child and the moonstone even though they have not had contact. It was also said that he would form a bond with another being so strong that they would do anything for each other. We believed that the other being would be what would help him decide who to protect and eventually help win."
"Want to know what else would be helpful?" said Lance, "the name of the third knight."
Edmund thought for a moment, then five minutes, then ten minutes.
"I… can't remember" he finally admitted, "but I'm sure I have something around here." And he proceeded to begin looking for whatever he thought could help. Meanwhile, the rest of the group sat back down on the floor to try and figure it out from the clues.
"I talk to every child in Corona, so can't be that" sighed Rapunzel looking down at her written note.
- Be smarter than Demanitus
- Be the child of the Brotherhood
- Has a connection with sun drop/moonstone (?)
- Be an obvious sign of magic(?)
- Lives in Corona
Eugene, looking at the clues, starting to get an idea of it could be. The nerdly kid turned villain was looking like the obvious choice.
"Blondie" he whispered although the rest of the group looked at him, "I think I know who it is."
"Who?" asked Rapunzel.
"Who's a kid we know, is insanely intelligent, lives in Corona, has a weird hair stripe, and was the only person other than you to get a reaction out of the rocks?"
Rapunzel frowned then gasped while Lance hissed under his breath, Pascal went a weird pink pale colour and Max reared back in shock.
"You think… no can't be. He hates me" said Rapunzel.
"And his father is just a farmer," said Lance, "although we don't know anything about his mother."
"If it is him, he would never protect me," said Rapunzel, "so if it is him, we're done for and if it isn't we are no closer to figuring it out."
"Ah" a yell came from the corridor and then loud footsteps as Edmund came racing into the room, grabbed Eugene, and dragged him back out while saying "found it" over and over again under his breath. Curious, Rapunzel got up to follow leaving Lance and the animals to figure out another person that it could be.
She followed Edmund's mutterings until she came across her boyfriend staring white-faced at a portrait.
"Eugene," she said, coming up to him and taking his hand. The princess then turned to look at the portrait and she felt her face go white.
"I knew I had a portrait of the Brotherhood around here," said Edmund. A thud was heard behind them as Adira appeared behind them from wherever she had disappeared to after Cassandra fled.
"Ah yes, I remember this day. Myself, Hector, and …" she was interrupted as Rapunzel spoke in a voice barely louder than a whisper.
"Quirin."
"Why yes, do you know him?" asked Adira, with Edmund nodding finally knowing the name he forgot many years ago.
"Yes, we do" said Eugene.
"And we know his son" said Rapunzel, shocking the King and his knight as she stared at the younger Quirin.
