Fighting with the pain in his ankle, Scotty continued to hobble his way over to the warp core where there was some work to be done.

"Right then lad, let's give this beauty a good look over. According to Sulu, the ships not been hitting the right warp speed."

Scotty had been talking as if his alien friend was a bit away from him, so it surprised him a great deal to see Keenser was right beside him.

"Bloody hell lad! Don't scare me like that, no need to be so dam close." But Keenser wasn't going to listen to that.

For Scotty's entire shift, Keenser had not moved more than an inch from the Scotsman's side. Which was annoying.

Very annoying.

It got to the point where Scotty had enough of his 'mother-hen' friend, "Keenser, can ya please just leave me alone. I'm fine!"

Keenser just stared at the CEO, normally he would run off after being yelled at and hide somewhere high.

But this time, he didn't. It was almost as if he was standing his ground.

Finally, Keenser gave the Scotsman a reply. "No."

Scotty was in complete shock, Keenser had never disobeyed an order before. Not like Scotty ever ordered him to do anything.

"What do ya mean 'NO!' Don't make me order you Keenser." Scotty almost yelled the words, which seemed to scare his friend.

Keenser whimpered before running off, instantly Scotty realised what he had done.

He didn't mean to yell at his friend, it wasn't really him doing it. The pain in his ankle was just getting to him.

"Keenser! Come back lad, I didn't mean…"

Scotty went to walk after him, but his ankle refused to allow him to stand on it. So instead he was leaning up against a console.

"Give yaself a dam medal Scotty old lad, you've just upset your oldest friend."

Scotty grumbled as he limped away from the core, he hoped that Keenser hadn't taken what he had said to heart.

He couldn't imagine upsetting the little alien, the poor guy was only being caring, he did nothing wrong.
