Several days went by and still Scotty hadn't sort medical attention for his ankle, instead he had been working as normal.
Which wasn't making his injury any better, it was making it worse. But Scotty just kept on ignoring it.
It was getting to the point where he was struggling to walk even the shortest distance, well more like limping.
So he had been spending most of his shifts in his office, claiming that he had stacks of paper work to do.
When the truth was, it was the only place were no one could see him in pain. Also, it wasn't that far from his quarters.
But soon he was going to truly learn how stupid he had been acting, and it wasn't going to be painless.
It was early morning and Scotty's alarm clock was blaring loudly, yelling for him to get up.
The Scotsman reached out from under his covers and slammed the 'off' button angrily, "I'm bloody up…" He grumbled.
But almost immediately, Scotty could tell that something wasn't right. He didn't feel well, he felt terrible.
His head felt like it was going to explode, his eyes felt like ten-ton weights and his whole body ached.
However, it seemed Scotty didn't really take that as a warning sight, since he then stood up.
Big mistake.
As soon as Scotty stepped on his bad ankle, it just gave out. Causing him to drop like a stone to his bedroom floor, with a loud thud.
"What's going on…" He muttered as he tried to get up, but he just couldn't put weight on his ankle anymore.
Not only that, when he tried to stand on his injured ankle, it felt as if something was stabbing him, from inside his body.
Swearing to himself, Scotty glanced around the room for his communicator. Even if he hated to admit it, he needed McCoy.
And he needed him now, Scotty was no Doctor but even he knew something wasn't right with his body.
But there was one problem, his communicator was on the other side of the room.
There was no way he was getting over there, even if his body allowed him to get up off the floor, his ankle wouldn't last two seconds.
So Scotty tried a different approach, "Computer: Contact Doctor Leonard McCoy. Medical Emergency."
His computer burst into life and followed its owners commands, at least this way Scotty didn't need to get up.
Scotty really hoped McCoy would turn up soon, the pain was getting worse and worse with every second which passed by.
