McCoy was sitting in his office, having a discussion with Kirk. Surprisingly, it was about their fellow Scotsman.
"I'm telling ya Jim, that man's so bloody stubborn." McCoy said with a sigh.
"I know he is Bones, but surely he would have come by." Jim knew that was a stupid thing to say.
He of all people knew that Scotty hides his pain. Both emotional and physical.
"You've gotta be joking Jim? That man would rather continue to do his work in pain, than admit he's hurting."
Kirk knew that the Doctor was right, "I guess, I wish that Scotty wouldn't be so stubborn for once, he's clearly in pain."
The truth was, countless members of the crew had reported to either Kirk or McCoy about Scotty's health.
Saying he had been limping around the ship, ever since coming back from that away mission.
Even Keenser had reported to them about his Superior Officer, even if Kirk and McCoy couldn't really understand him.
But if the little alien was worried, then something must be wrong with Scotty.
Suddenly, the computer on the desk turned on by itself. "Medical Emergency!" It announced.
That got the guys attention.
"Computer: Where is this Medical Emergency?" Question McCoy. But when he got an answer, it wasn't the one he was hoping for.
"Lt. Commander Scott's Quarters."
McCoy and Kirk just stared at each other, that was before the pair darted out of the room.
They raced down the halls, yelling for Officers to move as they charged past.
Soon they reached Scotty's quarters, McCoy punched in his over-ride code for the door. Allowing the pair to enter.
The pair just stared at what greeted them, upon hearing the door open Scotty had turned his head to the side.
"Leonard… Jim…"
The men darted to the CEO side, Kirk gently rolled Scotty onto his back and held him in his arms. While McCoy scanned him over.
"Scotty, what's wrong?" Asked McCoy, but it seemed he didn't need to wait for an answer from the Scotsman, since his Tricorder was already giving him one.
Kirk watched a horrified look wash over the Doctor's face, "Bones, what is it?" The young Captain held the CEO tightly, was he hurt? Sick?
But McCoy didn't answer, instead he just scanned over Scotty again. It was as if he didn't believe the answer his device had given him.
"Bones?!" Kirk was growing impatient, he just wanted to know what was wrong with his close friend.
Clearly Scotty was in pain, the man had his eyes closed tightly and his teeth were bitten together. The only sound which escaped his mouth was the odd groan.
Once more McCoy stared at the result his Tricorder was presenting, it was the same as before. "Good god…" McCoy muttered.
Kirk's eyes flicked up from Scotty to stare at the Doctor, "Bones, what's wrong?"
"I'll explain later Jim, first help me get him to Sick Bay." McCoy asked while placing his device into his pocket.
The CMO didn't need to tell his Captain twice, Kirk scooped Scotty up in his arms. The man was in no condition to stand, let alone walk.
Kirk glanced down to see if his CEO was comfortable, but all he saw was the man's eyes slowly closing. "Shit!"
