Kirk just stared at him, he would be lying if he said he understood most of what McCoy just said, because he didn't.

"What have you been doing in your quarters Scotty, which caused you to break your ankle?" Questioned Kirk.

Scotty's eye saddened quickly as he looked away from his Captain, "Scotty, what is it?" McCoy asked.

"I didn't break my ankle on the ship…" The Scotsman stated quietly, so quietly in fact it was almost a whisper.

His statement confused the hell out of Kirk and McCoy, that was until the penny dropped.

There was only one other place Scotty could have done it, mainly since he rarely left the ship.

"Scotty, you mean…" Kirk didn't need to finish his sentence, since the look on Scotty's face was a good enough answer.

"Dam it man, why didn't you say anything?! Its been three whole days since we came back from that mission." Roared McCoy angrily.

"You mean to say, you've been going about your normal business, on a broken ankle?"

Kirk's voice was a mix of anger, concern and shock.

He was shocked at the fact that his CEO had been working as if nothing was wrong. He was concerned since McCoy made Scotty's broken ankle sound even worse. Then finally, Kirk was angry at how stubborn and irresponsible Scotty had been.

"What were you thinking?! Or rather, were you thinking at all?!" Kirk roared.

Scotty was use to getting yelled at by McCoy over his health, but never had his Captain done the same.

"You could have done permanent damage to your ankle, not to mention the rest of your dam leg! There's also the fact that you could have died!"

It was now McCoy who was scolding the Scotsman once again, who just laid there with his head hung low.

Scotty then grumbled something under his breath, which was so quiet that the others couldn't understand what words he was saying.

"Care to repeat that." Asked Kirk.

So Scotty did, but still it was too quiet for the words to be heard. Clearly, Kirk was getting impatient, along with McCoy.

"Mr Scott! I don't play games, speak up!"

Kirk yelled, his voice was now just pure anger.

"It's just a broken ankle…" Scotty muttered slightly louder, so Kirk and McCoy could hear this time around.
