Hello and welcome! Continuing in my love for Josh and his movies/characters, I've finally discovered this movie and loved it! Plus, Josh was close to my age in this movie ;) I also just saw the new Uncharted movie, so I'm living for all the pirate stuff! I also just love pirates, and the 80s, so it's perfect for me!

So here is my take on how a Goonies sequel could look. I don't own anything, just my own plot and characters.

Here is a full summary:

Thirty years after the original discovery of the treasure, amidst the fast-paced world, growing up, and raising families of their own, the Goonies still haven't forgotten their adventure. The memories are stirred up once more when a researcher claiming to be a relative of One-Eyed Willy arrives in town (BrandXOC)

Thanks and enjoy! :)

Astoria, Oregon - 2015

Late June in Astoria, another school year was coming to a close. This meant that Mikey, while he did love teaching, got to focus on his real passion: the towns historical centre. Yes, the local history museum, following in his dad's footsteps, which drew hundreds of visitors every year, especially in the summer time.

"Have a great summer!" he called to the students, though they likely didn't hear him as they were already racing out of the room, eager to get back outdoors and soak up some summer sun.

One student stayed behind, though.

"You can head on out, Kate. I'll catch up later."

"Okay, thanks Dad. Hey, school's over, I can call you 'Dad' again and not 'Mr. Walsh'." She scrunched up her nose at this.

Mikey chuckled. "True enough."

"See you back at Grandma and Grandpa's."

"See you."

With that, Kate raced off to join her friends: Lily Wang, the twins, Cassie and Cat Devereaux, Leah Cohen, and her older cousin, Max Walsh. Yes, the Goonies had stuck together, even in the next generation.

Data, now an inventor running his own business, had fallen in love with and married the mayor's daughter, and they now ran their business together. And perhaps most surprising, Stef and Mouth had stuck together, falling in love and getting married, and later their twin daughters came along, an inseparable team, true leaders. Leah was Chunk's bookish daughter, bursting with facts she couldn't wait to share with the world.

Brand - who was the football coach at the school - and Andy had been high school sweethearts for a while, getting married and having a daughter of their own, but divorcing when she was still very young. Things were all right between them though, with Maxine splitting her time between her parents.

The girls hopped on their bikes - skateboard in Max's case - and rode away, abandoning school for another summer vacation.

"So Max, are you like, super jealous that you don't get to go to Australia with your Mom?" Cat asked.

The teenager shrugged. "A little. But I'd rather be here with Dad than hanging out with her and Greg." She stuck out her tongue at mention of her mom's boyfriend.

They rode past each other's houses, calling goodbyes and promises to meet up soon. After all, things had only just begun, they had the whole summer ahead of them. Soon, it was just the Walsh cousins heading to their grandparents' house.

The whole Walsh family - Mikey, Sarah and Kate, Brand and Max, and Mr. and Mrs. Walsh - would get together for dinner at least once a week, and tonight was to celebrate the kickoff of another summer vacation.

"Hello!" they called upon entering the house, the old screen door creaking and adding to the announcement of their arrival.

"In the kitchen!" called their grandmother. Goldie the dog came trotting over to greet them.

"Hey Gran, hey Uncle Brandon," said Kate.

"Hey!" Brand's voice was muffled from where he was half-stuffed under the kitchen sink, trying to fix it by the looks of it. "I don't know, Ma, nothing I try seems to be working. You might have to call the plumber."

"Oh! I wonder how much that'll cost," she fussed.

"Probably a shit-ton, Ma."

"Brandon!"

"Okay, a lot." He turned to his daughter and niece. "How was the last day of school?"

"Good."

"Lily almost blew up the science lab today," Kate recounted. "She was mixing something in chemistry class and BOOM! What a way to end the year that would have been!"

Brand chuckled. "Sounds like fun."

"Sounds dangerous!" cried Mrs. Walsh.

"Hi girls!" Mr. Walsh was heading downstairs, arms full of boxes.

"Hi Granddad!"

"Dad, don't lift so many boxes at once-" Brand swept in, grabbing the stack from his father's arms. "And you're going down the stairs too."

"I'm fine, Brand," Mr. Walsh insisted.

"He just loves a chance to show off." Mrs. Walsh pressed a kiss to her oldest son's cheek.

"More stuff for the exhibit changeover at the museum?" Brand asked.

"You bet!" his dad replied with his never-ending enthusiasm, which Mikey had inherited. "Say, has Andy left for her big trip already?"

"Irving!" cried Mrs. Walsh.

"What?"

"It's fine," Brand assured his parents. "And yes, she has. Overnight flight."

"Yeah, with Greg," Max answered, and stuck her tongue out again.

"Hey, be nice," said her dad.

"You do it too!"

"Yeah but that's different."

"Not really."

Mikey and Sarah arrived shortly after and everyone helped with dinner. Soon the whole Walsh family was sitting around the dining room table, eating and chatting.

"So, any plans for tomorrow?" Sarah asked the kids. "First day of summer?"

"Sleeping in," Max answered.

"Not going to get up early and help us down at the museum, Max?" joked Mikey.

"I'll probably sit this one out, Uncle Mike."

"There'll be baked goods and coffee."

"In that case, count me in."

After the discovery of One-Eyed Willy's treasure made by the Goonies in 1985, the museum's collection had only grown. In fact, the collection was so vast it was too large to be housed at the museum all at once all the time, hence the constant switching of exhibits. Tomorrow marked another such occasion.

"The adventure continues," grinned Mikey.

Yes, things had only just begun.

This was the day that Marina Moreno arrived in town.

Thank you for reading this first chapter and I hope you enjoyed it! :) More to come soon!
