There is something missing from our world. The amazing animals that time has left behind. But what if we could bring them back? what if extinction didn't have to be forever? were going back in time on a safari with a difference, as wildlife adventurer Nigel Marvin plunges into prehistory to rescue creatures on the brink of extinction. His plan is to bring them back to the safety of the present day to give them a second chance.
This time, Nigel is traveling back 203 million years to Arizona to endure the largest mass extinction that the world has ever seen in attempts to save a unique relative of the crocodile.
Welcome to the ultimate wildlife sanctuary, welcome to prehistoric park.
Prehistoric Park is coming together nicely, with a breeding flock of Ornithomimus, a woolly mammoth and a family of moa all calling the park home. However, The Parks Female Deinosuchus pregnancy is causing head Keeper Bob Problems
At Deinosuchus Dip Bob and Sussane can be seen collecting eggs from the Deinosuchus nest. "That's the last of them for now". Shouts Bob to Sussane. "Ok Bob I'll take these to the incubator then I'll let her back in!" responds sussane, taking the eggs off to be incubated. The female Deinosuchus can be basking in the sun in a fenced off paddock next to her enclosure.
Bob turns to the Camera. "She's started to lay her eggs so far we have around forty five, however to ensure they all survive we are going to incubate them all." Before Bob can Continue Nigel heads down into the enclosure. "Morning Bob hows it all going?"
"Not to bad Nigel just got the latest eggs out, mind you Nige if she keeps on laying at this rate we will have to get another incubator." He chuckles wiping sweat from his forehead. "Where are we going to keep them all ?" Bob asks whilst walking up towards the enclosure's bank. "Oh don't worry Bob I've got a few ideas.
However Nigel's ideas will have to wait as he is about to embark on his most dangerous expedition yet! He is travelling back two hundred and three million years ago to Prehistoric Arizona to save some of its unique triassic creatures from the largest mass extinction the world has ever seen.
Nigel and Bob are now out of Deinosuchus dip. They watch on as Bob's team let the Female Deinosuchus back into her enclosure. "So you off on your next mission Nigel?" Asks Bob. "Yes Bob I'm planning on saving as many species as possible, so I need several enclosures of all different sizes and set ups ready just incase." replies Nigel. "No worries Nigel, so you don't have a target species in mind this time?". Asks Bob. " We are going back to a bigger extinction than the one that killed the dinosaurs so I'd like to save as many species as possible but there is one I refuse to leave without."
The Deinosuchus launches itself out of the water and up to her nest to lay more eggs. Nigel continues " A type of land dwelling herbivores crocodile called Desmatosuchus." Bob looks confused. "Nigel we have over one hundred giant crocodiles on the way and now you're going to risk your life to save another!" He laughs at the thought "Only you Nigel Marvin, only you". Nigel joins in on the laughter. "Desmatosuchus means Link crocodile in latin Bob but it's more like a scaly sheep." " Well that does sound like a creature I'd like to see and let's face it Nige you survived the exctinction of the dinosaurs so I'm sure you'll survive this!" Nigel pats Bob on the shoulder then walks to his jeep ready for his next adventure. Bob turns to the camera as Nigel drives away. "I'm sure there was something I had to give him?" He scratches his head at the thought. His radio cracks to life with one of his assistants telling him the Titanosaurs need feeding. "Oh well it will have to wait."
Nigel is heading back to the very end of the triassic period to save the Desmatosuchus. Scorching lava, suffocating heat and toxic gases will stand in his way. Needless to say this will be his most dangerous mission yet.
Nigels Jeep drives through an open fern forest which is engulfed by mountains. A large lake sits at the bottom of the valley. The sky is alive with small Pterosaurs that are hunting insects. " This is beautiful we've only just got here and already we've been greated by our first prehistoric species." Nigel gets out of his jeep and views the Pterosaurs through his binoculars. " Now if I'm not mistaken these Pterosaurs are known as Eudimorphodon." The Eudimorphodon chases a Dragonfly above the top of the lake. " Eudimorphodon has short lightweight bones that allow them to be agile hunters, they will hunt insects and fish." The Eudimorphodon catches a Dragonfly and eats it on a branch that sits in the middle of the lake. Nigel goes to walk towards the river but stops when he hears a deep groaning sound.
Whilst Nigel awaits the terrors of the triassic, head vet Sussane is dealing with the park's latest problem.
Sussane is at Moa Moat. May and Jock the adult moas can be seen" I've been called in because our three moa's have been having digestive problems." Sussane walks over to the moa's excrement. She grabs a stick and starts poking it which results in it breaking apart. "As you can see the feces are hard and clustered when they should be loose and watery." the young male moa known as George began to peck the gravel in the enclosure. "That's it I've got it!" and with that Sussane picked up her walkie talkie. "Bob we need to start providing stones to the moas to aid with their digestion just like we do with the Titanosaurs." Withinseconds Bob replies "Ok Sussane I'll head straight over once I've fed the bugs".
As Sussane resolves another one of the park's problems Nigel is about to encounter some of prehistoric Arizona's residents.
A Large group of mammal-like reptiles that resemble beaked hippos emerge from a large cluster of ferns. They produce a deep bellow as they begin to wallow in the lake. " Ooh brilliant." Cries Nigel, now walking down towards them. "These are a type of Dicynodont known as Placerias relatives of long since extinct and a lot smaller Diictodon." The large bull Placerias starts swimming down the lake. " Placerias are the last of the Dicynodont and the last to roam what will one day become north america they were once one of the most common life forms on the planet, however only a few herds survive at this point in history making them a critically endangered species. "
Making them a prime candidate for prehistoric park, if Nigel can catch one.
Two Placerias are now swimming in the lake while a mother and her two young are foraging on the lake's bank. The mother uses her tusks to dig up roots which her offspring begin to eat. " These are absolutely stunning animals, because of the high temperatures here in Pangea the Placerias has to spend most of its day by water." Nigel stands a few meters from the mother Placerias. "When the lake dries up they will be forced to migrate." The young Placerias now has a Eudimorphodon on its back. "I have to save this fascinating creature from extinction." As Nigel sets up the portal by the lake the male Placerias is pulled underwater by a crocodile like reptiles.
"Rutiodon!" shouted Nigel.
Rutiodon is one of the many predators found in Triassic era Argentina.
"Rutiodon was a crocodilian-like thecodonts from the Late Triassic Period." says Nigel as the other two males made it to shore whilst two other Rutiodons took turns in drowning the large bull Placerias. Now's as good a time as any to try and save the last herd of placerias from extinction." And with that Nigel made the most of the herds dismay as he activated the portal. One of the males that had previously been wallowing in the lake ran straight through the portal, followed by the mother and one of her young. "Yes three down two to go!" Nigel cheered. Nigel ran toward the other male making it run towards the portal eventually it passed through. "Just this young calf to go and we've successfully rescued a whole breeding herd of Placerias for Prehistoric Park." Nigel stretched his arms wide trying to get the infant Placerias to join its herd on the other side of the portal. The earth beneath Nigel's feet began to shake vigorously causing Nigel to fall over.
At The end of the Triassic period earthquakes like this one are a daily occurence and simply a warning to the horrors to come.
Nigel tries to get back up but he keeps stumbling. A flock of Eudimorphodon fly above the lake squeaking in fear. The Rutiodons let go of the dying male and sink to the surface of the lake. The old bull is pouring with blood yet still manages to swim out of the lake, collapsing at Nigel's young Placerias lays down in fear until it hears the call from its mother from the other side of the portal. The mother's call makes the young Placerias run through joining the rest of its herd. " Let's go back," Nigel shouts over the rumble of the earthquake. As he walks through the portal the old bull lets out a groan.
The old bull Placeriasis still alive, just. If Nigel can get him to the safety of the twenty first century he may survive.
Nigel runs through the portal. As he does rocks start rolling down the hill towards the injured male. Luckily a group of park members come to his aid lifting him up and carrying him into the present. The first thing the Placerias sees is the park's head vet sussane who with the help of her team begins to try and save the prehistoric beast.
With the Male Placerias going through life or death surgery it's down to head keeper Bob to house the rest of the herd.
Bob can be seen looking through the bars of closing pen one at the four remaining Placerias. "They are odd Nigel." remarks Bob holding his steaming hot cup of tea. "He takes a sip before continuing. "Where would you like me to put them Nigel, somewhere with grass or mud?" "They come from a time before grass had evolved so it's not a necessary requirement however they did like to do a lot of migrating as well as wallowing in lakes so maybe cordon off a section of the park's lake for them." Replied Nigel who had now abtained a mug of tea. "What about the bat you saved should I put that in with them or will it fly out?" Asked Bob before blowing on his tea to call it down. "Bat,what do you mean Bob?" without responding Bob pointed at a Eudimorphodon that had climbed its way up the holding pen's fence post. "You beauty!" beamed Nigel
It seems the park has acquired another stowaway.
"Thats a Eudimorphodon Bob an early Pterosaur, he must have gone through the portal in the panic of the earthquake." The Eudimorphodon glided down back on to the young Placerias. "He came clinging on to the back of that fella Nige." pointed out Bob. "The young Placerias must have brought him through without a choice which is great news for us, the park's first Pterosaur!" said nigel unable to contain his excitement. "So should I keep him in with the herd or build him a small aviary?" said Bob before returning to sipping his tea. "He will just fly off Bob so I'm afraid your have to build a flight pen." The male Placerias began to dig with his tusks. "That's ok Nigel I'll do it near the microraptor aviaries." The Placerias herd enjoyed eating the roots they had managed to dig up in the holding pens. "Are you going back Nigel?" Asked Bob. "I want to wait and see if the Bull Placerias makes it, plus I need to bring more equipment with me as I was not prepared for how dangerous the climate was." The Eudimophodon squeaks at the camera.
Whilst Bob is busy housing the park's latest residents Nigel anxiously waits till morning to see if Sussane and her team were successful in saving the injured Placerias.
A sped up montage of the sun setting and rising again over the bungalow appears. Sussane walks along the bridge leading to the bungalow where she meets Nigel. "He sussane any news?" nervously asks Nigel. "Morning Nigel it was a long Night, he'd lost a lot of blood from the attack leaving his neck badly damaged." She paused catching her breath." We thought we'd lost him at around two o'clock this morning but I'm happy to say he's still with us by some miracle." She smiled, letting out a little giggle before immediately hugging Nigel. "Oh fantastic news well done Sussane! I thought it was almost certain we'd lost him!" Nigel fisted punched the air in happiness. "Hes gonna need a few days rest in one of the surgry pens before he can rejoin the herd but hes got through the most risky hours so he should make a full recovery." They both hugged each other again.
With the good news that the male Placerias will live to fight another day Nigel prepares back the dying world of the triassic in order to save the desmatosuchus from extinction.
Outside Bob's work hut Nigel is seen connecting a large barred cage trailer on to the back of his jeep. "We've made a pit stop to stock up on some supplies in order to prepare for more extreme conditions." Nigel opens the cage doors revealing three big rucksacks. "We've decided to camp out in the Triassic so I've prepared some tents as well as oxygen masks." He shows a canister of oxygen to the camera. "As Pangea breaks apart it will release deadly gases into the atmosphere.""He pauses to demonstrate putting the mask on. "This will prevent any toxic gases from affecting us while we search for the desmatosuchus." "As Pangea breaks apart it will release deadly gases into the atmosphere." He jumps out of the trailer. "As we might encounter injured creatures unable to walk through the portal we have decided to bring this trailer with us in order to contain them until we get back to the park." He walks up to the jeep and pulls out two dog sized pet carriers from the back seat. "We also brought these incase of any smaller animals that need saving." He grinned at the thought.
With Nigel all set to return to his triassic trip Bob and Sussane go to see him off.
Sussane and Bob are looking down from the holding pens watching Nigel and his team loading equipment such as large gallons of water. "Good luck Nigel" calls down Bob. Before he can reply Sussane joins in. "Good luck Nigel keep safe!". Nigel looks up at them both. "Cheers guys I'll try." He grinned knowing it will annoy them both. "Stop it Nigel you know I worry enough". Said Bob. "Me too." adds Sussane. "I'll be fine I promise you!" Nigel replied now in the jeep. "By the time your back we should have the Gillomasaurs results." calls down Sussane. "Fingers crossed." Nigel replies revving the engine. "Fingers crossed" reply Bob and Sussane in sync. Both nervous and excited Nigel plunged his way into prehistory. "Prehistoric Arizona here I come!" And with that him and his jeep disappeared two hundred and three million years ago. Sussane turned to Bob. "Bob before you go to feed the Bugs could you please give some of the stones you feed the Titanosaurs to the Moas please." Bob looked at her confused.
In prehistoric Arizona Nigel is getting used to his surroundings
The jeep drives through the portal. The landscape is different than before. This time the portal has taken the team to the top of the mountain slopes. Below them the lake from earlier can be seen. Nigel drives along the cliffs of the mountain, in the sky above him hundreds of Eudimorphodon fly around their nests. " These cliffs must be the nesting ground for the Eudimorphodon." A close up shot shows a mother Eudimorphodon arriving at her nest to feed her chicks. "The Eudimorphodon come back to these cliffs instinctively every year to lay their eggs and reproduce." Nigel now sits in his jeep watching the pterasus from his bincholours. "This such an amazing sight to behold, it really brings it home that within weeks this will all be gone." Without warning the air above fills with panicking Eudimorphodon flying away from the cliff's edge.
Much sooner than Nigel anticipated.
"What on earth is going on?" ponders Nigel now no longer viewing what's happening from his binoculars. The face of the cliff which houses thousands of nests and flocking Eudimorphodon explodes in a rage of smoke and falling debris. Without hesitation Nigel speeds down the mountain towards the lake he had visited on his last trip. Pieces of rock as well as the bodies of both living and dead Eudimorphodon fall into and around the jeep.
Glazier explosions like these play a huge part in the mass extinction that killed thousands of species during the Triassic.
Nigel can now be seen driving along the lake. In the background explosions can be seen from the mountain as the gizers continue to explode. "That was extraordinary." remarks Nigel who's now outside of the jeep. "The poor Eudimorphodon have just been obliterated by the glazers that just let rip, that's due to pangea's tectonic plates starting to shift as the continent breaks apart." Several burnt Eudimorphodon bodies lay on the bonnet of the jeep. "Poor guys." A chirping sound can be heard from the back seat.
It looks as though nature can be as forgiving as it can be cruel .
"Incredible, one of the Eudimorphodon nests has landed in the jeep!" The camera pans down to reveal five chicks chirping away from within their broken nest. The camera then pans back up to a gleaming Nigel.
Whilst Nigel and the team set up camp back at the park Bob is busy at Moa moat.
We see Bob wheeling a wheelbarrow full of stones across the bridge of Moa moat. The large birds walk towards him with the smallest of the trio, who team have named George, nervously walks behind the female moas legs. "So as you know the moas have been having issues digesting their food so Sussanes done some research and like some modern birds today like ostriches or the Titanosaurs we have here at the park it turns out the Moa birds also ingest stones to help break up food in their stomachs . Jock the male moa takes a stone from Bob's hand and swallows it. "So hopefully this will solve this problem." Both May and George proceed to take stones from Bob. "Right I best be seeing that the Desmatosuchus enclosure is ready for when Nigel gets back.
Back in prehistoric Arizona Nigel and the group have set up camp.
Just above the lake the team has set up their tents. A large campfire feels the air with smoke in the background and the crumbling remains of the eudimorphodon nesting site can be seen. Nigel sits on his chair watching out at the lake beside him in a pet carrier are the five Eudomorphodn chicks. "We've decided to set up camp and look for the desmatosuchus in the morning as the sun begins to set." The ground shakes again, setting off more geezers at the nesting site as well as making the chicks squark in panic. "As you can see it really is scary to live in which is why it's so important that we can save as many species as possible." another tremor hits forcing one trassic resident out of the lake. "Like this beauty!"
Smilosuchus, the largest phytosaur to have ever lived.
One the bank of the lake now basking is a large crocodilian surrounding it are the rutiodons we saw earlier. Nigel is now walking towards it. "I don't believe our luck. This is Smilosuchus the biggest of the phytosaurs which size rivals deinosuchus in fact it makes them look tiny." The Smilosuchus basks with its jaws open revealing its unique different sized teeth. "The name means saber crocodile because of the long teeth it has at the front of its jaws." "He is just amazing, Bob's going to kill me but there's no way I can leave him here."
Bob is the last of Nigels concerns as getting a 40ft crocodilian through the time portal is easier said than done.
"Due to the sheer size of the Smilosuchus we will have to send it back to the park straight away." A young rutiodon snaps at Nigel. "We need to be quick, we are not welcome here." Nigel runs back to the camp leaving the camera in view of the Smilosuchus. The young rutiodon goes back into the lake tipping the camera over with its tail. Nigel reappears with the time portal. "I'm going to have to take a huge risk here and place the portal right in front of the Smilosuchus whilst its still basking but as you can see the sun is about to set meaning the smilosuchus will stop basking and go back to the lake and we'd have missed our chance to save it from extinction.
It's a race against time to save this ancient reptile.
The sun now is disappearing under the top of the mountain. "Here goes nothing." Nigel runs towards the large crocodilian placing one stick of the portal nears its right. The sun now is completely gone from the night sky. As nigel places the second stick to the plythosaurs left it lunges at him snapping its jaws. Luckily for Nigel the portal activates in the nick of time causing the smilosuchus to lunge into the 21st century. However it causes nigel to fall over. " Now that was close." he says to the camera as he begins to laugh.
Back at the park Bob is in for a surprise.
Head keeper Bob has just finished his night rounds at the park and has decided to reward himself with a well earned biscuit. " todays been very long so its nice on summer nights like these to just sit back and relax." Before Bob has time to dunk his custard cream into his tea the 40ft Smilosuchus lunges through the portal. "Oh my giddy aunt another massive crocodile!" "where on earth am I going to put him?"
Whilst Bob deals with housing the park's latest resident Nigel and the team have been awoken by a guest in camp.
Nigel and the team stand in the campgrounds watching a large horned reptilian run around the tents. "This is a lovely surprise to wake up to a young male Shringasaurus has found its way into camp." red stripes run down the spine of the Shringasaurus. "Shringasaurus is a herbivore that uses those impressive horns to fight off predators as well as to fight other males in order to get the right to breed with females.'' Suddenly the Shringasaurus charges towards a red tent. "I think its attracted to the bright red fabric of Ben's tent which has given me an idea."
Nigel may be able to save the strange looking Shringasaurus from the mass extinction using a method seen typically in spanish bullfights.
Nigel emerges from his tent holding a red jumper on the end of a spatula. "I've had to make do with what I could find but hopefully this should work." Nigel steps towards the male slowly waving the makeshift flag in his direction. "I think hes seen it." The young Shringasaurus kicks its feet into the dirt getting ready to charge. "Here we go." Nigel activates the portal and runs towards it. The young male follows before Nigel runs through the portal he throws the jumper through instead causing the Shringasaurus to follow suit. "Yes, another species saved! What a great way to start the day."
With Nigel setting off on the hunt for a desmatosuchus or two with a smile on his face. Head Vet Sussane has to deal with some of the harder parts of working at a prehistoric park.
Sussane is sitting in her office holding a letter. She looks visibly upset almost as if she's been crying. "If you remember one of our Gilimosaurs who we've named Gill had a large mass on her left leg so we had to perform an emergency biopsy, well today I got the results and unfortunately it's confirmed our worst fears, its cancer." she sighs "we now have to begin treatment to hopefully remove the cancer but its going to be a long road for her."
Whilst Sussane digests the devastating news elsewhere at prehistoric park Bob is dealing with the latest residents.
Bob is standing on a platform overlooking a large lake, submerged in the center is the male Smilosuchus Nigel previously saved from extinction. "As you can see Nigels graced us with another giant croc but fortunately this one's male so there's no chance he'll lay over one hundred eggs." He smiles at the thought before receiving a message through his walkie talkie alerting him of a new addition. " Right duty calls." and with that Bob leaves the Smilosuchus to plunge to the depths of the lake.
Back in Prehistoric Arizona Nigel is about to encounter one of the area's most unique residents.
Nigel is seen leaving his jeep and walking towards a large boulder. "We are no closer to finding any desmatosuchus and times ticking the geezers are getting worse which is why me and the team have decided it's now best to wear our oxygen masks as deadly toxins are entering the atmosphere. Out of nowhere a small sheep sized armoured reptile walks towards Nigel. " wow now alough you could easily mistake this beauty for the desmatosuchus it is in fact its close relative Lagosuchus. And she is beautiful aren't you." The Lagosuchus turns away revealing a large wound on its side. "Oh dear it's been injured presumably by a large predato-'' before Nigel could finish his sentence a large sail lizard charges towards the Lagosuchus tipping it onto its back where it starts eating away at its soft flesh. "Everyone get back its Arizonasaurus!"
It looks like Nigels met one of the areas most dangerous predators, Arizonasaurus.
Nigel and the team are standing behind the boulder watching the large female Arizonasurus get her silver scales covered in the red blood of the Lagosuchus. "Paleontologists think the sail on her back is used to regulate heat as well as a display structure." The large predator lifts her head from the Lagosuchus carcass to sniff the air. The ground again begins to shake this time triggering more gases to emerge from the cracks of the terrain.
Just like all life here these are the last days of the Arizonasaurus that is unless Nigel is able to bring one back to the safety of the park.
"Ben I need you to run to the trailer and open its doors." he steadies himself against the bolder as another tremor hits. "I'll run as bait ,trap her in the trailer then we'll drive to higher land." without hesitation Nigel runs toward the Arizonasaurus making himself seen.
The Arizonasaurus has seen Nigel now its life or death for both of them.
Nigel runs up the ramp of the trailer as does the arizonasaurus. As the large female gets ready to go for the kill ,Nigel jumps out of the trailer roof narrowly avoiding the jaws of the triassic tyrant. "Quick guys get in the jeep we need to go to higher ground." The remaining members of the team join Nigel in the jeep. As they drive away the sail of the Arizonasaurus can be seen sticking out of the trailer.
Back at the park Bob is letting the male Shringasaurs settle into his new home.
Opposite Theo the triceratops enclosure Bob has built a large open enclosure for the male Shringasaurus. "Out of all the mad and wacky looking creatures Nigels brought back by far this fellas he strangest." chuckles Bob who's sitting in his jeep outside the enclosure. "I mean hes basically a reptilian cow." The male charges towards the pole poking his horns through the fence gap. " he doesn't like me that's for sure but hey ho ya can't please them all." and with that Bob goes back to his jeep wearing his new bright red sweater...
With the ground beneath him crumbling and the air around his toxic Nigel hasn't got long left to look for the desmatosuchus.
Nigel looks through his binoculars from the top of the mountain. Geysers exploding and trees falling can be seen all around. Several small pterosaurs circle around a green mass. "Hang on I think that's a desmatosuchus!" the ground beneath them breaks apart.
Nigel has no time to celebrate. Pangea is breaking apart now or never to save the desmatosuchus.
From the cracks in the ground spew lava burning everything in its path. "Everyone get back to the park take the chicks and the Arizonasuruas with you I'll meet you back there." Nigel orders the crew. "But Nige what about you?" asks Ben already in the jeep. "I'll be fine, now go." and with that Nigel activates the portal letting the team drive back to safety. Nigel picks up the portal and runs down the slope towards the desmatosuchus. The lava flows behind him.
What Nigel finds waiting for him shocks him to his core.
"What on earth?". Nigel stops in his tracks "That's impossible." The ground around him shakes violently but hes to stunned to move. "How on earth?" sitting in front of him is the fresh carcass of a large adult reptile, its back is covered with large plates and its tail is spiked.
Nigel has mistaken what he thought was a desmatosuchus with the dead body of a Stegosaurus, an animal that won't evolve for over a million years. What it is doing at the end of the triassic is a mystery.
"I've no words, this is extremely ridiculous a stegosaurus can't be here at this time." Before Nigel can do anything the ground beneath him tears apart causing the carcass of the impossible dinosaur to fall into a pool of lava destroying all evidence that it was once there.
Nigel has no time to worry how the jurassic giant travelled to the triassic as waves of lava swallow up miles of land.
Nigel is running for his life away from the lava. Around him Several shringasaurus run behind him from the lava unfortunately they are not fast enough. "I'm going to have to leave empty handed. This is too dangerous." As nigel sets up the portal he notices a small piece of land getting smaller and smaller as the lava surrounds it. On the island is a spiked reptile. "Desmatosuchus, I can't leave it behind."
Alone with no help Nigel must act fast if hes to save himself and the last of the Desmatosuchus from a lava filled fate.
Nigel jumps from rock to rock narrowly missing squirts of lava and explosions of gasses. "Almost there." The closer Nigel gets to the small island the ever more its shrunk in size. He makes a final leap of faith landing right next to the spiked reptian. Immediately nigel notices something is wrong.
The Desmatosuchus is struggling to breath due to the toxic gasses being released by the earth.
"She can't breathe!" Nigel screams. Without even thinking he takes off his oxygen mask and places it over the reptiles snout. The lava is now inches away from them. With nothing to lose Nigel places the portal down and activates it. The lava consumes the island. From above we see the once lush valley destroyed with nothing left but lava and smoke. At the end of this era only a bright blue light can be seen amongst the ash.
"Nigel you made it!" cheers a relieved Sussane. Next to them the female Desmatosuchus walks on unscathed from the traumatic ordeal.
Nigel has completed his mission and has successfully saved the link crocodile from extinction.
Now standing on the viewing platform overlooking the Desmatosuchus, Nigel and Sussane catch up on recent events. "That was to close Sussane. I thought I was a goner." "we couldn't have that Nigel." The Desmatosuchus scratches her spikes against the fencing. "There impressive spikes Nigel let me guess they would have used them in defence?" Nigel turns to her. "Spot on their armoured bodies protected them from predators such as Arizonasurus." Sussane goes to make a joke about Bob having to find room for all the park's inhabitants but Nigel interrupts. "Sussane I saw something very strange in the Triassic. I saw a dead Stegosaurus." Sussane looks at Nigel confused. "But that's impossible." "Exactly." They are now both lost for words.
Sussane also has some shocking news for Nigel.
"I'm sorry to be the bearer of bad news but it's Gill." Suzanne looked into his eyes. She knew she didn't have to finish the sentence, Nigel's face said it all. "We can start treatment though can't we?" she put her arm on his shoulder. "We start tomorrow. I promise Nigel and my team will do everything in our power to save her." with that they hugged as the Desmatosuchus staired on.
A few days have now passed and the parks Triassic residents are settling well.
We see the arizonasaurus eat a rack of horse ribs.
The Shringasaurus now shares his enclosure with Dolly the Desmatosuchus.
The two reptiles can be seen eating from a trough of vegetation.
And Sarah the park's vet nurse has become mother to the five Eudimorphodon chicks as she has started to hand rear them.
We see Sarah sitting in her office whilst the chicks climb all over her body.
Now all that is left to do is to reintroduce the injured placerias male back into his herd.
Bob can be seen reversing his jeep into the Placerias enclosure. "Let down the hatch boys." Bob calls out from his window. One of the park keepers releases the trailer hatch, allowing the male placerias to rejoin its herd. Nigel and Sussane look on from behind the enclosure's wooden fence. The male slowly walks out of the trailer his scars are still prominent but slowly healing. He waddles towards a large female and releases a deep below which is duplicated by the female. "Looks like someones got a girlfriend " Bob chuckles to himself. Sussane and Nigel join in as the sun begins to set over prehistoric park.
Whilst all is calm at prehistoric park for now tension lingers in the air. Will Gill the gilmosaur's treatment be successful? Why and how did a Stegosaurus end up in the Triassic period? And will Bob ever find a home for all the deinosuchus offspring?
Next time at Prehistoric parkā¦

So sorry this took so long I've had a lot on. This has been my least favourite chapter to write despite it being in my head for over three years. I apologise if like me you feel this is the weakest. I'd like to dedicate this chapter to my dear friend Lucas McKenzie who has provided nothing but support throughout the last two episodes. I hope you liked the twist in this episode all will be revealed soon. Fun fact this episode was originally titled "An End Of An ERA" but i preferred crocodile link. I'm undecided about the target species for the next episode. All I know is it needs to be a mammal. Leave your suggestions below the winner will get a shout out. I promise I'll have the next chapter out this year!
