Chapter 7: The Chamber is Open
It was late. Everyone should be asleep. They should be asleep. Not under the invisibility cloak outside Dumbledore's office listening in.
"Albus, this can't be happening. Not right now!" McGonagall exclaimed.
"We don't even know if it is true, Minerva."
"Don't tell me you think this is a prank?"
Dumbledore came out from behind his desk. He placed his hands on his wife's shoulders. "It may very well be, my sweet."
McGonagall looked down at the ground. "I don't want to lose my son and daughter."
"You won't. We will keep them safe. I promise." Dumbledore said. There was a pause before he called to his office door. "I know you two are there. There's no use in hiding."
Harry and Hermione took off the cloak. They walked into the office.
"We couldn't sleep." Hermione said, nervously.
McGonagall held out her arms. Hermione walked into them.
"You need not to worry, my children. I will take care of this." Dumbledore said.
