Chapter 9: Butterflies??

Hermione was scribbling down the potion as fast as she could during study hall. Lockhart signed off for her to check it out. She just needed to finish writing this down before someone saw.

"Hey Hermione." Someone said as they sat down next to her.

"Hey Draco." Hermione said. Her focus was on the potion.

"If you keep writing like that, you will break your quill." Draco teased.

Hermione couldn't help but to smile. Her green eyes met gray ones. She tried hard not to blush under Draco's teasing stare.

She spoke low so Snape or McGonagall did not hear. "I don't want my mum or godfather to figure out what I am copying down."

"Why not?"

"I could get into a lot of trouble for this, Draco. This book was found in the restricted section."

Draco looked over at Snape and McGonagall. They seemed focused on something else so they wouldn't be over here for a bit. He nodded towards the book in front of her.

Hermione caught on. She quickly went to finish copying it down while Draco kept watch. After she was done, she hid the paper in her bag. Draco followed her out of the Great Hall and into the library so Hermione could return the book.

"Thank you for your help, Draco." Hermione smiled.

"You are welcome." Draco smiled back.

His friends began to call for him at the end of the corridor.

"It's alright. I need to find Harry and Ron anyway." Hermione said.

Draco nodded his head. He kissed her on the cheek before heading down the corridor. Hermione's hand went to her cheek where Draco kissed it. It tingled slightly.

Draco was supposed to be the enemy. He's Lucius Malfoy's son. They hate Dumbledore with a passion. Which means they should hate her. She's Dumbledore's daughter. So why is Draco acting this way?

He must be trying to get close to her so he can harm her father. Yeah, that's it! It has to be. He is the heir of Slytherin. Right?

"Are you alright, Hermione?" Harry asked.

"Yes bro. I am alright." Hermione smiled.

If Draco was the heir of Slytherin, then why was Hermione's heart fluttering?
